The foul on the dunk wasn’t even that bad. If anything it was only worse because he tried to alley to himself like a clown which left him unprotected.

Blame the refs. Navy team was pissed there was no foul call when they had the ball. And they have a right to be. Edit: I didn't say it was okay for them to start a fight I'm just saying it might have been avoidable if the refs called the obvious fouls.

I'm gonna miss these ASUN games for Jax State, the men's team got into a fight with Bellarmine last year and most other conference games I've worked have always been testy.

Some say they are still fighting in that hallway out of our video screen to this very day.

I mean, to be fair, that dude did smack the ball handler for the blue team in the face and it wasn’t called

A weird coincidence is that the guy trying to slam it at the buzzer is a former UNF player himself. He transferred out years ago due to lack of playing time. UNF had beaten AP earlier in the season at UNF by a couple of points when the aformentioned guy (Cam Copeland) who tried the slam missed a three at the buzzer. But there was no doubt that game back then was chippy even then. Lots of funny business and chirping from the AP bench the entire game could be seen and heard on ESPN. Look AP has absolutely nothing to play for. They will not make the ASUN tournament (being they are in last place) and UNF currently will qualify. So for them, sticking it on ones face is not out of the question. As for the original foul that set the whole thing off, yes, Fauntleroy of AP caught UNF's Hendricksen with an elbow to the cheekbone but Hendricksen's back was to the ref, so he couldn't see it. Since no whistle was blown, it can't be reviewed. Definitely a flagrant foul and UNF should have had freethrows with the ball out. But as the announcer said, no call so the game was over. Typically, a Matt Driscoll (coach @ UNF) team does not play for this nor do they respond like this usually. Looking at their record this year they have lost a huge number of games either in the last minute or in overtime by less than 5 points. I am sure they are feeling some pressure as well.

I've always found it interesting and strange that we, the fans, admire these athletes' passion and intensity and at the same time expect them to not get into fights sometimes. Most of us are rarely involved in anything as intense as a college or pro game. We can't relate and it shows.

Given the season both teams are having no shock they are ready to fight, it's frustrating when you suck.

The ASUN Conference announced its reaction: 3 APSU players were suspended. Paez and Copeland for 1 game, Coffey for 2. UNF player who tried to block the shot (Aybar) was suspended for 1 game. Paez is a 4th year senior. Copeland is a 5th year senior. Coffey if a JC transfer sophomore. Aybar is a sophomore.

reminds me of the fight scene at the end of "Blazing Saddles" where the fight spills off the original set into another, then another, then into the cafeteria, and on to the parking lot, etc., I guess here it is a month later, and they're still at it someplace. well.. thuggery is the norm these days. officials can't stop it, coaches don't want to, and they keep pimping their programs with no consideration of character, just the ability to elbow your way to the basket.

It looks like neither team is going to take part in the big dance(March Madness tournament). Both teams are taking out their frustrations by fighting.
