This island is part of amazing islands group called The Andaman and Nicobar Islands at the juncture of the Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea, and are a Union Territory of India.
The Sentinelese have been living off the land without even engaging in agriculture for thousands of years and you compare them to autistic incel coomers
He didn't make it lol. Also fuck the people who made this. The backstory is some guy from national geographic who was obsessed with making a dumb documentary about them putting them in danger if contracting disease. Even whenever he was asked not to contact them he tried to they then shot and killed his camera man (it's in the video but cuts away b4 the arrow strikes the camera guy) 2 others were hit but lived. This guy was fame obsessed like all white guys who go there I think it's a power thing they wanna look like God's to people who've never made outside contact.
im so interested in this. & i would prefer to keep them away from contact with others. But i've seen little mosquito drones, i think they should send some in there just to watch how they live and act. Definitely interesting how other humans on this have not made contact with the outside world. We could learn a lot from them and how they live.
Conkers Squirrel there is 1 way. We could tell the usa that there is tons of oil there. I gurantee you within 5 seconds the new world trade center would collapse and obama will release a statement saying north sentinel islands people was the cause of this. Tanks would be up on those beaches within 5 mins blasting everything up there.
I wonder if they have drums and other musical instuments... bet no one has tried playing music with them (from a distance)... its a language every human speaks
I want them to continue living like how they have been living. But I want to know how they live, their culture and their genetics. All these will help us in understanding our past.
the81kid Killing and eating everything it can that doesnt harm them is poisoning the planet to me. Humans poison the planet no matter how technologically advanced we are. Most species went extinct before the the wheel was made even. Humans find meat delicious.... Now I want Cheeseburger....
Evan97 You're confusing ecosystem recycling with "civilization" which does not recycle. Climate change deniers always looking for an excuse to keep killing things and people.
They can land on the moon and the mars but they can't land a small robot with a camera on that island? I'm all for leaving them alone but a silent drone which they won't see wouldn't hurt them.
+Gaurav Sharma Surely if you noticed that you have also noticed that we still haven't sent those drones in with today's technology either. Therefore his comment is still valid.
i'm just glad the Indian government has some class and is protecting them- i'm surprised some colony or another hasn't gone in and wiped them out by now
BrooklynPerson30000 I think England was very close to colonize them in the 17th century but thought it was just a unhabited island thankfully because if not =genocide
Why and how the fuck do we/they always invent the bow? With no influence from the land outside of their own, information like this can't really spread. A spear, sure, a sharp killing object made longer, simple enough, but a bow? Although they probably have had plenty of generations time to invent, it's still amazing to me how everyone's progress is always so similar. New tool/weapon innovation would be cool to see.
+Annika Pakarinen Idk ... I wonder how did people in the past even come up with that concept ... Aliens ? I am being sarcastic and rude, sorry ... But well They might have come up with that idea on their own ...just like any other ancient civilization have ! They are after all humans ! They probably needed some sort of a projectile to hunt when they came up with the concept of a bow !! This is merely a speculation... only they know the truth !
Everyone who argues that we should send troops or what not in needs to take a look at history and understand the dangers of making contact with an isolated group. Something as simple as a virus, or a simple bacteria is enough to kill the whole population of the islands. These people have never been or have hardly been in contact with diseases that are common throughout the world. Thus, a person with the flu who sneezes on the island could put the whole population at risk. For this and other reason, simply sending in armies or researchers is a very dangerous task.
You are a moron. There is a reason they don't get sick even though they've been exposed to worst shit than anyone in the "civilized world." I'm sure their herbal medicine has been more than enough to get the job done, way more powerful than your phermaceuticals got.
Ask the white supremacists that, they are the ones who can't leave other countries or melinated people alone, I guess except for the sentinelese people.
Well, I for one voted to leave them alone. Although it is interesting from the historical and science point of view, but as history told us, we will bring more damage to them than they are to us.
It is estimated that these people have had their culture for 60,000 years or more and if we leave them alone, they might well last longer than our own culture (assuming we don't destroy their environment in some way, intentional or not). It would be difficult to study them without them knowing it, even with "mosquito drones" or anything else. These people may be low-tech but probably smarter than we are when it comes to recognizing any changes in their environment. I just hope no one ever suspects oil or gold on the island, we all know how THAT would turn out!
Let's hope and pray they wont be turned into human exhibits like tribals of Andaman and Nicobar who beg biscuits and junk food from tourist buses. Plus, nothing worth money is ever discovered on their island.
fj14 Probably more than half animals/plants living on the island evolved differently (Like galapagos) but i don't think any large animal survived the hunters in a small island. Modern civilization have technology to see what's going on the island without visiting it but no one really trying. (maybe a thermal imaging camara and on a drone)
Nobody. He bribed local Indians to take him to the island according to Indian Police and Indian Coast Guard; he prayed and knew his aware of risky and attempted to go there to preach them about Jesus. He got what he wanted. His body was dragged and buried there on that island by Sentinel tribes. (DO NOT EVER GO THERE AT ALL).
I highly agree that we should leave them alone. But they're just so god damn interesting. I totally believe that we should send some drones and see how they live and see how they interact. Another thing that interests me is the language they speak. Like, what the hell do they sound like?
Notmatt they should be left alone. Regardless of what we people think. If they wanted to join us, they should have long time ago. They are self sufficient and don't need our assistance. For example, they were already on high grounds when the tsunami hit the Indian Ocean in 2004. Us civilized people died in hundreds of thousands. I agree that should be left alone.
Nottman and Divyas Gopal jee, If we leave them to lead their own life, it would no effect on their life style which they live for the last 60,000 years. But we must not leave them seperated from modern civilization. Their main aim to survive and that too from huntind daily. If anyone think to leave them alone then Govt should do such things which may make their life easier. As for example Govt or NGO should seng thousands of Cock, birds, animals for their food, sprinkling seeds of fruits in the forest which are suitable to germinate in the enviorment, clothe, plastic sheet and doing such things so that they get abundant food because their only aim to survive. But persons who believe like me that they should not be left to lead their original life style then Govt should do to catch them and provide food and facilities at their own place (ie, Santenel) . India can send satelite to Marse whether they cannot catch them is the question. They should not be left for ours living museum.
what u said is absolutely wrong let us leave them their life. they never asked your and my help.they are on their way.if drowns are put your bedroom are you acceptable. what a stupidity this
I would leave everything behind just to live on that island with them and teach me their lifestyle. No pressure from society? I am in! If only they would welcome me....
most city whites I know in australia have no concept of the aboriginals and what they get up to. city folk just can't get any non-city non-white concepts and keep falling back into "white think" all the time. needless to say I grew up in an area where there were aboriginals. REAL ones, not the fake city ones that are literally whiter than me. I don't considered blond haired people as "aboriginals".
Link Knight the fuck dude, you know MANY native australians (aboriginal is a real discussing term) are BORN blonde, especially the kids from western central australia, they are almost ALWAY's blond and only turn dark during their teens, IF they do at all. fucking idiot.
That all sounds amazing but we must face the truth that these people are very hostile towards outsiders. The majority of people who go there are attacked.
well the way they reacted to the helicopter seems to suggest that they might just shoot a bunch of arrows until the noise gos away, then they might celebrate the victory. Who knows? it would be interesting to see a small surveillance fly in there, to see what structures, if any, they have built, and their lifestyle in general. I having that the drone would be expensive, and get pretty damaged real quick though. :/
+Timmy Tobuscus You're prob spot on. I would think it is a lot like the dog vs the mailman. The dog or in this case the islanders yell and shoot arrows. The mailman or plane, helicopter goes away after a few moments so in their minds they ran it off and saved the day.
We should send a drone to their island, far enough at least, so it doesn't disturb them. It'd be fascinating to learn how these people survive. Yes, we should leave them alone, but the fact that there are still humans surviving without modern technology and food is just... So unbelievable.
unbelievable why? With so many unexplored areas on earth is not a suprise and there are more than 200 uncontacted tribes in Amazon rainforest, more than 50 in new guinea (some are cannibals), 1 in south asia and at least 3 regions with uncontacted tribes in Congo Basin (the number is unknow). There are sighings of tribes in other islands in indonesia. I did my own research
Imagine how much history can be proven through them..... they must have some type of written or drawn historical accounts, or in the very least, be able to tell us. 60,000 years is a long ass time in that little island.
i flew over the island yesterday on my way back home from andamans.....was a crazy feeling to know thats one of the last untouched civilizations in the world........i hope it stays untouched forever
civilization should try exploring the islands and the islanders way of life using self propelled rovers, just like those that are sent to roll on mars.
I'll bet it's a paradise in there. A wonderland of beautiful ponds, streams and everything they need (except coconuts). Wikipedia tells a little bit more but dammit now I'm curious and want to see what's there.
I keep getting this weird feeling that a dinosaur would appear on that island. I keep telling myself "You should stop watching King Kong man! This is not Skull Island!!!"
Wow God make everything amazing... Your mind is so amazing.. We never go there but it can imagine the beautiful and what is going on there now.. Not exactly but part of view
WOW!!! ... What a life of that Sentineles People...... these people dont know What is the tension? What is the Burden of work? Just live our life freelyyyy.... Do whatever you want...... nobody there to stop you......Njoy life with Dancing..... WOW...... I wish my next life can be as a Seneteneles...... We normal peoples have lots of to learn from these senteneles
‘We left them gifts like coconuts and knives’. Coconuts I believe they have enough of, the knives they will use to cut you up if you ever make it on the island.
I'm curious as to why we have no place invading it. They've killed a number of innocent people, 'our' people. Are they above our laws just because they're dumber and less evolved than us? If they wouldn't have to follow our laws then they wouldn't be considered humans but animals, ain't that right?
Maarten "Our" laws exist in "our" societies. If anyone of them decides to visit us I guess that we both agree that he has to follow them. But that is their land, that is their society. They never invited "us".
Maarten We have no place invading it because they have established their own customs, laws, ect over the 60,000 years they have been there. The laws all around the world are different, are you saying that everyone else in the world that doesn't follow your governments rules and regulations are animals? If strangers on strange machines came up to your island home would you not want to defend it as well? Think before you make stupid ass statements. They are protecting their land and themselves in their eyes, just as you would.
michael shama I don't agree, if someone you don't know comes to you, you don't throw him rocks or arrows because you've never seen him before. That is where communication comes in action, we are not animals we can talk or in this case try and understand each other. Even if they have been on their island for 60 000 years doesn't mean that they have any excuse for attacking us! If we leave them alone and we don't figure why they attacked us, does it mean that we consider them like animals?
They are an extremely resilient group of people. They’ve lasted on this island for thousands of years without being wiped out, even surging tsunamis. They are on that island covered with trees, making it not easy to see what’s going on there. Of course, we can’t even get close to them even if they weren’t hostile because just a simply virus could wipe them out, but I’m dying to know more about these people - their customs, language, beliefs etc.
You left them COCONUTS??? For Chrisake, if you want them to greet you openly, you've got to drop some cases of beer, wine and whisky. A hot pizza wouldn't hurt either. Trust me, on your next visit they'll put their arrows and spears down and welcome you like GODS!
Well they don't look like they need much water. No real body mass. Something is working for them. Where are they getting the metal for the arrows? Sea trash? Are they mining?
One of the guys said they deliver items to the island like coconuts and other items and when it’s rains lighting can easily strike a tree to start a fire those people not as dumb as they look they know how to communicate look at their body language they also use arrows to kill
I have been to Andaman islands..those islands are blessed with so much of natural beauty that I thought I was transported back into the time. I went to Havelock island which is opened to tourists. Havelock island is surrounded by sea but on the island there were freshwater sources, so I am guessing the same for North sentinal. Also it has tropical climate so it rains fairly often.
@@jayprivacy1900 There was a ship that had to be abandoned off their coast years ago. They've been harvesting metal off that ship to make arrows and things.
Many of the comments in this section are extremely offensive, i was hoping to see people having serious discussions and being ethical. The Sentinelese are a very interesting group of people, I have been trying to find out as much as possible that is known about them. Isolated people groups in general are interesting, and there is so much to learn from them.
I'd doubt they're all that tough, very little exposure to the world leaves that at a huge disadvantage, illnesses that regular people would simply shrug off would probably be fatal to these people, due to a lack of a developed immune system.
