Obviously the Irish Catholics in Northern Ireland don’t have any interest in attacking President Bid; who is himself Catholic with Irish ancestry. If I were the security forces there, I would focus on the very real problem of Protestant Ulster Unionist sympathizers who don’t want a United Ireland or to be ruled by the Catholic majority that they have oppressed for centuries; since they are more likely to do something to damage the peace process

Interestingly the Republic of Ireland is not a member of NATO meaning British forces could cross the border to chase down lrish terrorists and there is nothing the US could do. However the EU could deal with the threat under the EU charter as Britain is no longer part of the EU.
