I don't know if it's worth it though. I went to a primary school in Andersontown, and I can confidently tell you that Casement Park has sat boarded up and idle for over a decade.

Yes!....the government of the Republic of Ireland has offered a huge chunk of money to the refurbishment of Casement Park...it has been costed🤩

The basic tune here is “If the Taighs are getting money for Casement Park, that means the money was stolen from Unionists!”

If casement is built & used for major events like the Champions League final Europa League final UFC Boxing Concerts & WWE PLEs it will pay for itself & draw more people till the country & put money into the economy that can go on the NHS & other public projects & the public sector. This has nothing to do with religion or even the past like Jim Asda is making it about cause it’s a GAA stadium if they said it was Winsor Park he wouldn’t interfear or care about the NHS. Jim Alistair is just using the NHS to spread a sectarian mandate from the past that nobody in this country gives a dam about any more since everyone knows the GAA is a sport & it’s all inclusive to everyon regaurdless their religion now it’s evolved. The PSNI have a GAA team & even London GAA competes in the Ulster Championship & the All Ireland.

@@neilmachon9828 Someone can correct me if I am wrong (and this is the internet so they will) but I believe Ireland and the GAA are putting money towards the project - I do not know the proportions from each party though (there are some suggestions Westminster are requesting the GAA to increase their contribution towards it)

@@snorlaxsleeps9700 @neilmachon9828 The Government of Ireland is providing funding for Casement Park as part of a package of measures, particularly the long overdue upgrade of the A5 in the west of Northern Ireland.

I think the main cause it did not go ahead was because of the IRA section they were putting in to commemorate there fallen comrades. Hardly encouraging equality and non sectarianism. Casement shouldn’t go ahead due to the history behind what the grounds were used for in the past. I agree there should be a stadium built that excellent access will cause minimal traffic congestion when major event are to be held such as uefa and the all Ireland, but it needs to be built on neutral ground.

Ravenhill got £14.5 million. Windsor Park got £31 million. Casement Park has been closed and no work done since 2013.

Ulster was self funded. Casement is looking at £300 million quid. Spurs stadia cost £750 million and it’s the foremost stadia in the world. No similarity.

Ravenhill received 14.5 million direct from the government and had received a large chunk of the 4.5 million spent a couple of years earlier from public funding and the IRFU. Your lack of punctuation makes it difficult to read your comment. Unfortunately the bill for Casement Park will be in the hundreds of millions. Construction costs have skyrocketed since 2020. The original estimate was made about 15 years ago. The NI Executive should have had it built years ago, but they're far too busy fighting with each other to get Anything done.

GAA is not the exclusive property of Roman Catholics. One of the National Presidents of GAA in recent years was a protestant. I absolutely love Hurling it's an absolutely amazing game, it's a manly sport unlike hockey which is pathetic and dull.I also prefer Gaelic football to soccer it's superior in every even from childhood I have always hated soccer. The only other game I will watch is Rugby. GAA is the right of Irish person, always has and always will be.
