Hello and welcome to our film series in which we travel around Norway in our campervan. We'll begin our tour in the charming city of Kristiansand in the first video and travel further north while admiring the breathtaking scenery and landmarks along the route.
Trollpikken, a distinctive rock formation in the Jaeren region, is where we make our first stop. To obtain a beautiful perspective of the surrounding landscape, we'll trek up to the peak.
Our first overnight parking area, a gorgeous setting with a view of the fjord and the mountains, will astound us as we continue on our adventure. As we set up camp and prepare dinner on our camp stove, we'll have time to relax and take in the calm of our surroundings.

Just found your youtube and working our way through. Previously enjoyed Camper Vibe in Norway. Love to hear about your route to Norway. I'm in Republic of Ireland and have a self built lwb T6. Norway is definitely on our list (wife interrailed there in 83), but might have to get bigger van first. Really enjoy your camera work and your humour. Great selection of outerwear.

Got told about your channel this morning from a friend - We are planning a trip to Norway and Sweden in 2024 in our van with our 2 dogs last week of Sept 1st 2 weeks of Oct - is this about the time you were there? Great video, and look forward to seeing the rest

Ah great that sounds brilliant. Yeah that’s when we went, was towards end of September. Think the day we arrived in Norway was 1st October. By the sounds of it I’ve heard it’s the best time of year because of less tourists and stuff. Was pretty amazing driving into Autumn the further north you got too.

@@ChrisSloanes That sounds awesome :) although a long way off, very excited and route planning already and your vids are deffo going to help! I have just watched a couple of other vids your review being one of them (and your new Scotland one, we did Skye Mull and some mainland this year) - with regards to your water tank dumping, we have an external water tank on our van "Millie" I am just having a heater plate added to the outside of the tank and insulating it to stop freezing (we had snow in Scotland!), it is automatic, but when the temp gets to X point, it switches on and warms the tank to take it up beyond the freezing point, could that work with yours? Just a thought - keep up the good work and look forward to watching more have subscribed and dinged that bell!

Well my watertank is actually internal and the dumping is due to poor design from VW that dumps if the outside temp gets too low even though the tank is in the van under the bed! Thanks im glad your enjoying them, plenty more to come

Brought back so many great memories of our trip in April through to July 2015. All being well should get back there in 2023. It truly is a place that after the first few days you are just in overload around the scenery that you encounter. Obviously until we see the rest of your uploads will not know if you got to Lofoten Islands...if you didn't you will be going back.

Fun to see you visiting my country. And smart of you to visit after the main tourist season. It goes from tens of thousands of tourists and lots and lots of German campervans clogging everything everywhere, to hardly any people or traffic a few weeks later. And btw, Trollpikken was just a local, fun thing before it was cut down and made national news. It is absolutely not worth to go see for yourself. The person(s) who destroyed it made it into a big tourist stop.

I have been to Scotland, Norway, Iceland, Canada USA and others I can say for experience you cant compare them, they are all different - But Norway is absolutely WOW!, is something else because the Fjords

Your guides had me convinced to go to Scotland, now after this, I want to go back to Norway, where I have been twice already. Lofoten is a destination tip: It is like the Outer Hebrides - on Steroids!

Love the video Chris. What was Norway’s compatibility with dogs like? I’ve travelled a good chunk this summer around Ireland and Scotland and it’s very different when it comes to where dogs are allowed.

Thanks mate. I couldnt say as we didnt have our dogs with us. A lot of Norwegians seemed to have dogs so presumably its fine. Its super quiet everywhere as the population is smaller than Scotlands in a country thats a hell of a lot bigger so perfect for dogs out and about but im not sure how they are in towns etc.

There are lots of dog owners in Norway and outdoors there is nowhere I can think of they are not allowed (except on crowded beaches and stuff like that). But there is a law generally forbidding dogs to go off leash from April 1st to August 20th to protect (newborn) wildlife. And sheep and whatnot.

Hi thanks for the comment. I didn’t rent the rv, it’s my own that I took on 2 ferries to get there and 2 back from the uk.

Yes we are home now. Didn’t edit anything while I was there. I loved the place your country is simply unbelievable. The people are friendly and it’s just an incredible country. We loved it so much we are looking to buy a house there now!

Honestly i can’t explain how much I fell in love with the place. We started learning Norwegian while we were there and are working on it nightly in advance of moving there. That would greatly be appreciated. I will be in touch. Thanks

Brilliant video and fantastic scenery. Couldn’t stop laughing though when you’re using the 360 camera and you’re walking with it because you can’t see the stick but see your grip 😂😂 it’s a man thing 🤪😂

Thanks mate. haha yeah its a strange looking camera thing but how strange it looks is kind of its charm. Shame the audio is so awful from it. Have tons of footage i cant use because of wind noise

Ahhh I try to cut out a lot that I don’t think people would enjoy and keep it interesting so originally this video was 19 mins and I shaved 10 mins off it 😂
