Sean and Emily, your relationship and the fun you have just adds to the video experience we're having. So thanks for taking us along and sharing this beautiful trip. Stay safe.
Hi Brian, thanks very much for your kind words and encouragement! We are glad to take you along for the ride. New episode out tonight (as always wed, Sat and Sun) Cheers Sean and Emily
@@SeanandEmily It really is funny listening to you two. It gives so much to the videos :) Lovely banter back and forth and funny jokes. Not sure if the Italians like some of them though 😅😂
Sean says I think it’s stopped raining , Em didn’t believe that for one second 😂well done guys considering the conditions it was still a great video , I was soaked yesterday too In Ffestiniog ❤Graham L
Hi Graham! Haha ever the optimist -it's stopped raining ...no it hasn't lol Thanks! Despite the rain we had a great day -going to appreciate the good weather even more if it ever arrives. Some nice rides in Ffestiniog! Nice to hear from you again. Have a great week Cheers Sean and Emily
Another fab episode if a trifle on the wet side! So good that these days you can actually stay dry on a motorbike even in continuous rain, in the old days, it was a very different story! Really enjoying the commentary from both of you it makes the film totally immersive and even more enjoyable. Emily your route planning skills are mighty impressive, must make Sean's job easier as some of the roads are quite challenging considering the weather and the size of some of the vehicles you meet on these narrow roads! Looking forward to the next episode, ride safe! Hoping for some fairer weather for you too!
Hi, great to hear from you and really glad you are enjoying the series! Yeah at the end of these rainy days we are shocked as to how dry we are underneath! Essential to being able to cover a good distance all day in the rain. We appreciate your encouraging words and it's very kind of you to say so about the commentary . I must say Emily does a fantastic job of researching the route and navigating and it really does make riding easier. The weather does get better.....eventually hehe Cheers Sean and Emily
Great video! Feel I need to correct you a bit though:Unless you were staying in Vatnestraum just 40 km from Kristiansand ( and it didn’t look like you were, looking out the window 😉 ), you didn’t fill your bottles with Voss water 😂 Voss Production is😢located in Voss outside Bergen, but in Vatnestraum outside Kristiansand.. Sorry you didn’t get to experience the landscape in sunny weather though.. Thanks for sharing! Loved the video 🤩 Erik, Norway 🇳🇴
Hi Erik, Yeah that's already been pointed out lol 😂. No Voss water for us -but all the water tasted great in Norway so no worries 🙂 The weather is got really good as we headed further North. Glad you liked the Video -next one is out on Wednesday. Cheers Sean and Emily
@@SeanandEmily Can't 'wait! Looking forward to the next one!! And yes: We are spoiled when it comes to good drinking water ( except Oslo.. it tastes chlorine for us who aren't used to it 🙂
Sounds great! Can't go wrong with a Transalp =) Thanks for your comment! We will be heading all the way up to the Nordkapp in this series so hopefully it will help you plan a route. Cheers Sean and Emily
Sorry to disappoint you. Voss water is not tapped at, or from Voss/Vossevangen at all. It is from Iveland in Agder county. Voss is in Vestland (West coast) county. I commend you on the choice of roads. Setesdal is definately the best choice from Kristiansand to Lysebotn.
Hi Thomas, Hehe thanks for the Info! Not to worry the water tasted great in all of Norway -guessing fresh water is never a problem =) Thanks for letting us know the route was a good choice! It was a great ride and a great first experience of Norway on the first day of the tour! Thanks for your comment Cheers Sean and Emily
The road 50 over aurlandsfjell was the main road up til year 2000 when the tunnel opened. Was a bit crowded over that road back in the days. Im so happy that many old roads are kept open still. Im lucky to have been driving just about all of them and the worst of them i think was old måbødalsvegen from Eidfjord up to Hardangervidda. Mighty crazy road that closed totally after a bus accident in the late 80,s and then it was built tunnels up the valley. Another one was Stalheimskleiva but it has closed for good now because stupid tourbusses destroyed it 🤬🤬🤬 😭
Hi Dr Mckay, wow that road must have got congested when it was the only route! Fortunately for us everyone was using the tunnel so we had it to ourselves! I just searched the måbødalsvegen on google maps looks like it's a walking path now but what i could see it looks very narrow! -cool that you were able to drive it. Unless it's not been updated the Stalheimskleiva looks to be open (although it's a one way road now) -maybe we check it out next time =) All the best Sean and Emily
@@SeanandEmily I think you still can walk or cycle old Måbødalsvegen but there are signs saying you do it on your own risk because all the rockslides but im not sure. 1973 I was 2 years old first time going to Norway in grandpa,s Cortina. Grandma and mom in the back and i sat on the passenger floor in front cos grandpa took out the whole seat so i could sit there and play 🤔😂 Not the safest way but back then it worked. Ive been to Norway around 35 times since that and i will continue going there til im not able to drive anymore so i have a few trips left to do still 😁
What fantastic trips you went on as a kid! That must have been some adventure back in the 70's -the Cortina is a great looking car too must be some good photos Knocking around too. I can see why you keep going back! It's such a fantastic country to travel through. So we are guessing you recognize pretty much every road we have ridden so far =) ..thinking it wont be our last time here either but some way to go to beat your record =) Cheers Sean and Emily
Hi Andrew, we are using the BMW Nav V GPS. We plan our routes on google maps and then add the waypoints manually to the GPS each morning over breakfast. Here's our route map of Norway: seanandemilytravels.com/the-heading-north-tour
Lol haha! Yes we are using the Cardo Edge intercoms and yes we wear ear protection (but mostly on the motorways) they are loud enough to hear well even with ear protection. Cheers Sean and Emiily
Thanks! Actually the rubber on the foot pegs have stayed on! They must have addressed this issue as previous models the foot peg rubber often came out (hope it continues to behave) Cheers Sean and Emily
