STORYLINE:
Queen Elizabeth II welcomed King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway on Tuesday on their first official visit to Britain.
On their three day visit to Britain, King Harald V and Queen Sonja are accompanied by Crown Prince Haakon and his wife Crown Princess Mette-Marit, who is eight months pregnant.
The Norwegian royal family arrived in London on the River Thames on board the Royal Yacht Norge, manned by the Royal Norwegian Navy.
The visitors were to be honoured at a banquet on Tuesday evening, at which Prince Charles's wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will be taking part for the first time in a formal royal occasion.

I don't think the Brits March to "God Save The Queen' not do they talk. They stand at attention as we do during the playing of our national anthem. The music must have been inserted later.

@@carolyngenc5329 God save the Queen has two purposes. It is the National Anthem, but it is also played specifically to honour the Queen. So when the Queen enters a function, such as a banquet, God Save the Queen is played, and everyone rises to honour her.

Oh I love it! Queen Sonja has honoured Queen Elizabeth by wearing THE MOST SPECTACULAR tiara in he collection of Norway, and one of the most intrinsically valuable (because of the huge cut emeralds) in the world. Moreover, as Sylvia of Sweden said "I suppose that Sonja will wear her emeralds...... they really do suit her very well". So the Queen wears the Grand Duchess tiara...... which also has emeralds...... but tonight she wears the pearls as an alternative....... Well Done! Sonja looks totally amazing at 0:20 Mette Marit is adorable 0:32 Camilla is wearing the Delhi Durbar tiara, which is large, and suits her. 2:05..... it looks spectacular. And at 1:53, Princess Alexandra looks beautiful, and has a necklace modelled on one worn by her namesake Queen Alexandra and made as a gift from her husband Angus Ogilvy. (thank you to Stephen Baker for this great piece of information!)

That tiara is not so big, but it is an absolute killer..... It is of great historical importance, having belonged to Queen Catherine of Russia. It can be hung with either pearls, as here, or emeralds. It has an incredibly regal air about it, for some reason which I cannot define. Maybe it is just because of its history. After the Imperial State Coronet, which is worn when the Queen wants a lighter version of the Crown, his is the most important tiara on the royal collection.

It's wrong how camilla is portrayed as a cruel character in media and public accepts. People need to know Charles and Diana were forced together and it was Camilla in the heart of Prince Charles from the very beginning but by then royal family didn't allow poor Charles to marry her which left him heartbroken and both of them in an unwanted sad marriage. But they defeated odds and are together today LOVE always wins. We all should remember Camilla will always be Charles love interest, not Diana. I don't say Diana was wrong or she deserved this but she was in the wrong place. She deserved something different and she herself explained it in her further life. Camilla deserves respect and love bcoz she is a lady of honour and respect who loved her stepson's with all her heart.

I suspect it is one of the Queen Mother's tiaras, part of the large amount of jewellry she left to Prince Charles. That said, it's tasteless to wear one that is larger than HM's. It's akin to wearing white at a wedding. I dread this woman's inevitable place on the throne. 😢😢😢😢

It is the Delhi Durbar tiara, mostly associated with the late Queen Mary. It belonged to Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother until her passing in 2002, although the Queen Mother herself is known to have worn it only once in a 1947 visit to South Africa. The tiara is now owned by Queen Elizabeth II, who loaned it , together with the equally huge Boucheron Honeycomb tiara, to the Duchess of Cornwall. The two aforementioned tiaras are actually bigger than any of the tiaras HM The Queen now wears on a regular basis, but Camilla seems to be the only lady in the British Royal Family with massive enough hair to support such large diadems.

Without going into much detail, you are so absolutely wrong. It is not the Delhi Durbar tiara. It is the Greville tiara. It was owned exclusively by the Queen Mother. She received it as a part of an inheritance from the Greville estate. Prince Charles received it from his grandmother after her death. It has never been a part of Queen Elizabeth's jewelry collection.

When I see Camilla, I think of what she did to Diana. If Charles had only loved Diana, she would be sitting there. and not Camilla. Dianna gave this family class. Without her, they all need to get a life. I think that if William does not become King, England should do away with the Royal family and tell them welcome to the real world. Diana taught her sons what real life was about and they are the only ones with any class now. Charles and Camilla should go live on an island by themselves.

It’s a State Banquet she’s hosting! She does smile, she is simply being appropriate to the occasion. All senior Royal are there, including Camilla because she’s the wife of Prince. Charles. It is so hypocritical of the royals. Camila was a married woman with children and having an affair with Prince Charles for years while Princess Diana was alive. So, we all are suppose to forget all that and treat Camila like a Queen Consort? What about the Royal rules- that you can not be a divorced woman and must be a virgin? So double standard.

Camilla, you look wonderful! The tiara is known as the Delhi Durbar tiara, it belonged to Queen Mary. It now belongs to the Queen, and it says a lot that she never allowed Di to wear it, but look how well it suits Camilla! People are obsessed with Di simply because she was so good looking. Would they all be so obsessed with "Saint" Diana if she looked like Cherie Blair?

The queen disappointed me, in my opinion she was the most important person as queen to stop the relation or love affair of her son and she had the obligation to save the marriage with 🤴 Diana, but she knew and she didn't nothing, as far as all the world know Camila was married and divorcee later. Her uncle ubdicated in the same situations and that is why she inherited her father after his death. Her sister Margaret was in the same situation, was forced by the Queen and Crown Council to give up from the man she loved. Also, there is a story of another Prince, who was in the same situation, his life ended, tragedy with plane crushed... I am stucked, what to think about this, which criteriums are valid here???? For Prince Charles is this affare legal for all the others isn't... How come?????

Camilla was from upper, not middle class. her grandfather was a Baron and she was a descendant from a Charles II as was Diana. The Spencer family was higher up the aristocracy pecking order though.
