I'm quite excited. His record of developing youth is good, and if he truly is Knapper's first choice, then that should mean he alligns with Knapper's philosophy of playing attractive, attacking football 🔰

One of my family members is an FC Nordsjælland fan and spoke highly of Thorup and the club being able to compete with youth and a tight budget. Danish Superliga is about the same level as the Championship so not a big change for Thorup in that sense. Interesting appointment!

Celtic and rangers qualify every year but they are average at best, reason being the league they're in is very poor. FC Copenhagen are a good team in a poor league, someone has to qualify, but the point the other comment was making is that the top league in Denmark isn't any better than the 2nd tier in England@@kumquat3212

Okay… so there’s 2 or 3 maybe 4 teams who are better it doesn’t mean the whole entire division is better, which is what this post initially states?? The Danish Superliga ain’t better or more competitive than the championship 😂😂😂. I don’t see the winners of that league title receiving 170m for doing so, whereas you receive that just for winning the play offs. So I ain’t no expert, but what you are for thinking that is a dipstick.

@@JasonMcNeill-bv8lb my initial post states that it is about the same level. Neither higher or lower. Midtjylland, Brondby and Copenhagen are about the same as Leicester, Ipswich and Leeds in terms of the quality of football. Then, as with the Championship, there is a sea of mediocrity and finally dross. The real difference between the leagues is the fact there are fewer teams and fewer games in the Superliga, but I'd argue that is probably more of a problem for players than managers.

This could very well be a shrewd appointment. Thorup wants to play fast and attacking football with emphasis on technical skills, and at the same time he's good at bringing young players into the first team, which is always a priority at FC Nordsjælland. I believe these things are also important to your board, and that's why they feel that Thorup and Norwich City can be a good match. Only time will tell of course but my initial feeling is that he'll do well. The squad, as it is now, should be more than capable of making the top 6 again.

Personally I was really hoping for Carlos Questa, but I guess that was just a pipe dream. Hard to be excited and hard to be disappointed, since it’s a very different league and very different level. All we can do is show our support and hope he thrives.

Questa has done nothing as a Manager and is very young. Thorup is a far better choice.

Very rare do I agree with anything you say , but I totally agree on the Hoff clear outstanding candidate for me . And as I have said many times I would have kept Wagner as changing any management team is so packed with risk . I will get behind the Hoff and you and Chris need to do the same and not say after six months we were wrong get him out , building a team takes time and he will need at least two years to get somewhere close to what he wants

We have everything that a Danish coach could need/want. Jacob has just signed a new contract. Morrisons sells a variety of a bacon. Bread Source sells some lovely pastries. The Norfolk broads also has plenty of space for a longboat.

@@olivereagle4760 The championship is a totally different box of frogs to the Danish league. There is no way he was first choice with the number of talented managers available at the moment. Norwich do not need a gamble at this time, they need a safe pair of hands to steer them through a difficult period. I fear a very poor season ahead for Norwich.

Actually, he took Nordsjaelland to a second place finish last season which was a big improvement over previous years. This season, he’s finished a few spots lower but recorded a higher points tally - or in other words, he’s improved and had a better season in a league that was stronger this season than it was last year. He’s also got a very good win record with what you have to remember isn’t necessarily Denmarks best club. I’m looking forward to seeing what he brings.

@@johnnyfreespeech5815 You have to remember that the Danish league is several tiers below even our championship in terms of quality. The fitness and the tactics are all behind top championship clubs. I think given this and the players we will have to sell, the best we can hope for is a 6th place play off charge if we are lucky, but even that feels unrealistic.
