It was packed on a Thursday and the packing will not be removed until this upcoming Monday which is a LONG time for that misery. You have done a fine job of teaching on this topic. As an isolated symptom (nosebleed without other stuff like headache, dizziness) hypertension will not be on the list of concerns. If a person has severe headache, overweight, and associated nosebleeds it would be a consideration. High blood pressure in children is much less common than in adults.

Sinus infection (viral or bacterial). that's when I get them. doesn't last long but it's annoying. I also got sensitized to steroid sprays. If I use them not only do I get headaches but nose bleeding. Oh pinch the nose--Try to hold for 10 minutes. I remember when I was a kid I would get nose bleeds so frequently my pillow was soaked in blood.

I was born with the blood vessels in the back of the nose doing the bleeding the military had to cauterize my nose to stop my nose bleeds whatever I got hot I would have a nosebleed whenever I ate raisins I’d have a nosebleed I did not have to exercise to get it there would just happen but most the time when I was hot now my children have it
i had a cold once and the following day i had 7 cases of nosebleed. at work 2 medium to serious and 5 mild to medium at home. i did get asked following: why you go to the doctor/er to get it cauterized. i said no. got one mild the day after. i did regret it. it was the cold season of 2010. but still i got a feeling that my nose could explode and blood will pour out cause its dry now. any preperate you can reccommend?
Just use an ice pack or wet towel (anything cold) on the back of your neck and it will go away fast. Look it up. I used to get long nosebleeds growing up but an older man told my brother about this trick.
I've had nosebleeds since I was 4 or 5 years old. I spent 4 days in the hospital over a nosebleed once. None of these tricks have ever worked for me! Right now I'm nursing one that started 6 hours ago!

Thank you for the information. I had a nosebleed a few months ago in the shower and it just gushed out down my face from both nostrils. Well the bleeding stopped after a few minutes but today, I had a bleed and it was dripping quite badly from my left nostril and lasted over an hour! It was heavy at first but it did slow down and there was just a little soaking into the tissue that I was holding over my nose. It eventually stopped but I’m so freaked out now because I have never had nosebleeds before, like EVER. But now I’ve had two in a space of a few months which doesn’t sound bad but it is scary to me. I believe the reason I bled for so long is because I didn’t follow the right steps in stopping the bleeding. I held the tissue over my nose but didn’t pinch it properly. I kept removing the tissue to see if there was still blood coming out. I’m an idiot haha.
What if you are sleeping? This morning i woke up in a small pool of blood about 6 inches in diameter. It soaked through multiple layers of sheets. What alarmed me was that the was a pitch black area in the blood. I poked it and it felt like skin. My aunt who used to be an er nurse sais that it might have been a clot that had come out. Unless you bleed excessively you're not going to get nauseated by a little bit of blood getting into your stomach. Secondly you also do not have as big a tendency to get anemic if you have regular nose bleeds if you lean back. But the quickest way to stop one that I have found. Is finely ground pepper on a damp Q-tip yet causes the nasal tissues to constrict usually shutting off the bleeder. I happen to have hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia. Years ago I had to study it so I could School doctors on it. My maternal grandfather was a fifth person in the world ever diagnosed with it when it was still called osler-weber-rendu.. a classic sign of this disorder is red spots on the fingertips where abms have appeared where capillaries are normally Under the Skin there. My oldest son is the only person that I have ever known with this disorder that does not have that is a classic symptom. Yet it almost killed him with a bleeder in his stomach a year ago last Christmas. When he was an emergency, severely anemic oh, he called me and said they haven't been able to find where he's bleeding from. I told him to call the charge nurse and put her on the phone where I instructed her to have the doctor do an EGD and look for a bleeder in his stomach and that he had hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia, which she had never heard of. So I spelled it out for and said give this to the doctor and do the EGD. He was in the operating room within an hour and a half of my talking to her. They found exactly what I told her.
I lay down in bed on my laptop. I get carried away and get pins and needles through lying uncomfortably. I also get headaches and now some blood in my snot. Should I BE WORRIED.

Well if your bleeding that Mutch you probably need to stop squeezing your head and If you do have a nose bleed put cold watter on your face and then get a cold cloth and sit it on your nose so it reduces blood presher to your head and nose because to mutch blood presser can cause vains to burst but only the ones on your nose thow because there the smaller and seeker ones
Hello Doctor . I realize this video was quite some time ago but I had a question for you. I had a real bad nose bleed other night and had to go to hospital they cauterized with silver nitrate stick . But now I have burn marks on my nostrils how do I get rid of this or will it go on it's own? please help.
Hold on for some resion the gut never mentioned this way of getting a nose bleed if you squeeze your head alot or run around alot so it feels lime your head is beeing squeezed that can also cause nose bleeds because to easy resions wen you heat up so dose your blood and what dose heat do it rises thard why your bedroom will be warmer than your liven room if your bed room is on the flour above it so your blood gose up to your head and the presher is to Mutch for. The small week nose vains so they birst and the other essay thing is wen running blood is also rushed to the head so the brain can work the legs and stuff again. The presser ends up being to Mutch for the nose so ways to stop it are splash cold water on your face for like. Does high blood pressure meds make nosebleeds worse? I've had a few recently that were so bad I thought I was going to bleed out. One question : Does the blood clot that quickly or is the heavy bloodflow "washing"out huge chunks of mucous? Two : Is there something you can put inside your nostrils (vasaline,pickle juice) short of cautorizing? that can help prevent bleeds?
I put a bowl under my nose and catch the contents. Afterwards, I cook it up and enjoy it with a knife and fork. You can boil it in a pot of water and the coagulated blood cake is very nutritious and delicious.

Hey Dr. Sacks, wheres the weed at? Lol. Just kidding. I did used to know a doctor named Hayes, but he was as never down with the weed. Anyway I just put some mucopirocin in my nose with a qtip. I have been swimming in the ocean regulary. I often see plastic and participates in the water. I also snorkel. Could i have gotten some weird bacterial infection in my nose? I guess i will go to the doctor if it continues tomorrow. I do run a dehumidifier at night and i regularly drink alcohol and some days take fish oil vitamins. I'm surprised i don't get them more often. This one started today after for forcefully blowing my nose .
