I pray for the day that a remaster or remake brings Legacy of Kain back to public attention; this series was what set the standard for my appreciation of voice acting and storytelling in gaming, and I hope to encourage more love for this series, in the future. 💗
@@shadowjackification I agree, but for a dead saga like Legacy of Kain and that has a small audience investing in a remake is more expensive and risky than a remaster. I think they will release a remaster first and depending on its sales and reception they will do a remake in the future.
Not only that after Soul Reaver Remasted since no possibility for LoK Blood Omen bring to 3D space but keep it from top veiw way, and same time LoK fans relly want a final conclusion to Legacy of Kain Saga to bring story to a full close wat most LoK fans want.
It's only a matter of time before Kain returns. Surely they can't say no after the overwhelming survey results. I'm more than happy to wait after Tomb Raider and even Gex for a remake or remaster. Which ever predestined path they choose. My wallet will be waiting.

If they did a remaster of Legacy of kain The first gaming looking for like soul reaver 2 would be great, redoing the cinematic clips would be a plus and it they remastered defiance hopefully they could fix that awful cut camera shit!

Oh my stars, look at the Spyro plushie in the background. For me my thinking is if Gex of all things is getting a Rrmaster, then its only a matter of time before Legacy of Kain, gets it too so i have hope. Not even a bitter taste of the illusion of hope, but i feel like its only a matter of time. We've waited like 20 years for the final chapter in the story, we can wait a little longer for a remaster.
@@RainaAudron it's adorable. I actually found one of the vintage 90's Spyro plushies in a charity shop and because of how hyped i was they let me have him. Obviously i went in the next day and gave them the money...actually i lied and told them it was £4 when it was only £1.50, simply because they let me have him, and i'm not about to accept a freebie from a charity shop. But he is adorable. I hope we get a new Spyro game soon too. 😊😊😊

i wouldn't say no to a remasterd collection of the blood omen/soul reaver games but they need to make a sequel to defiance since the ending was left open...
Cool to see dead sun is not yet forgotten :D Next, we need Dead Sun build/s so I can play it like a nerd, those early development Soul Reaver clients out there make me believe there is a slight chance for that happening at some point especially since they are never going to sell it, just keep it on a forgotten hdd I guess. Is it me or those Tomb Raider fans are being petty? I mean LoK has not seen a game release in 20 years while I think they still had "old Lara" until at least 2010s. I played the old PS1 games including Legend, Anniversary, Underworld and the latter seemed pretty "classic" in style. lol, googled blood omen 2 alpha (I just like it) an got bo1 instead, seems this channel is in fact among the alpha diggers.
There's something that I've always wanted to know about Soul Reaver. I remember Official UK PlayStation Magazine giving it 9/10 in Feb 1999, and showing screenshots of the old glyphs, old monsters and old level designs, but the game wasn't released until August. We know that the game's build was incomplete in February, so what exactly did the critics review?
I've been waiting for Tomb Raider and Legacy of Kain remasters for years. Wish Last Revelation was included too since that was my first TR game on Sega Dreamcast before my Uncle gave me the original ps1 trilogy. Maybe Legacy of Kain will actually get a remaster for Soul Reaver 1 and 2 etc.
I want to see all five games get remakes instead of a simple 4k 60 fps remaster collection before releasing a new game to the series. Remakes would get newer people hooked to series and create a new following. I'd start the remake series off with Blood Omen as you don't start a series with another character. FYI the series is called Legacy of Kain so that means Kain gets his game out first before Raziel does.

Glad to see another update video, and with the remasters of Lara Croft 1,2and3 (probably in like some form of game pack/collection) and the return of Gex, there's some hope for the Legacy of Kain series to hopefully be given the same treatment of a potential Remaster. GOG also known as Good Old Games is a subsidiary of Polish Game Studios CD Projekt Red. GOG is a game distributor, much like Steam, selling video games mostly for the PC market. Unlike Steam however, they sell all their games DRM-Free. Meaning they are 100% yours to do as you like. They are also very well known for trying their best to not only preserve older games, but ensure that these games can be played on current hardware. Often times the games themselves are pre installed with mods or other user created fixes to ensure the best quality. (EDIT: This applies for older games or games that were poorly optimized and users did their best to fix them, where current hardware can cause issues, not for newer games.) For example Fallout New Vegas comes with the 4gb Patch mod, already installed. A mod that is practically needed for a smooth gameplay experience. Furthermore, they also try and get the rights for older games to sell. They have been trying for years, for example, to gain the rights to sell Blood Omen Legacy of Kain, which I believe they finally obtained around 2019 or 2020. So a game that had a PC release and ps1 release was only a few years ago finally available to acquire legally, on PC that is. PSN still has Blood Omen available to buy for USD $5.99 Hole this helps! I 100% reccomend giving GOG a try. They have a plethora of games and often have amazing sales, and dont quite me on this, but I also believe the game devs get a larger cut from GOG than Steam. Of course the drawback is having two differnt services to open and find the games, but if DRM is a huge thing for you, GOG is the way to go.
@@Ephemeral_Sins Wow that's a lot of information to take in but thank you so much for clarifying me this, it's nice to know that there's now a not-so buggy updated PC port of the Legacy of Kain series available than the Steam port(which I do have and oh boy it's buggy) 😅 Though I do have console versions of the games, i have been considering playing the Legacy of Kain series on PC, especially with some really cool mods I'd like to check out (apart from Blood Omen 1 as idk if there's any mods on it besides Patch mods), I'll see to checking GOG out soon, thank you so much👍
5:05 prediction- no matter what you will be saying in the video covering "Dead Sun"- 95% of comments will be about how people are glad that it never came out. Because they don't want the toy means no one can have it etc.
I recall an issue with the PC release of Soul Reaver being the lack of dynamic music. I don't own the GOG copy and I can't test it firsthand, so does anyone know if the latest patch restores the music?
It's not really an issue as such. There isn't dynamic music in the pc version, so there's nothing to restore. You'd need a complete decompile or access to the source code to build it back in.
Kinda sad, I've been trying to replay SR1 but it seems there is no place i can get a hold of it. I dont understand why GOG removed it - atleast for new customers..
I really hope for an LOK remake. Like, want a completely different game in terms of gameplay. Don't just want a remaster/port like spyro reignited (it was nice) but ultimately just the same games
Questions: Related to Soul Reaver , i heard the original PC version lack the OST available in the PS1 version. I would like to replay Soul Reaver on PC (been waiting for 24 years for this) , does this GOG version fix it ? Could i find Soul Reaver on Steam ?
Yes, the pc version does not have the dynamic soundtrack and it is the worst version to play. Get the ps1 or dreamcast versions instead. SR1 pc version was pulled both from Steam and GOG over 2,5y ago and cannot be purchased at present.
Once i loved tomb raider nowadays i hate it, cause it cant surely die, but never ever there is something related to legacy of kain. TR Chronicles was the last game for me. But i can see why they done it that way it is hard to produce games and media with super complex wording and story the long run. Most games are for gamers not for academics...
What if i have Soul reaver on Steam?? I bought it some time ago, and didnt dissapear from my library, will i get an update?? I ask this because i dont have the game installed.
Idgaf about Tomb Raider any more...we had like 100000 different TR games and 3 movies...LoK got only 5 and a half games and that's it...obvious priority lol...but general audiences dont care
