Famous horror movie quotes Scream: What's your favorite scary movie? The Poltergeist: They're here... The Sixth Sense: I see dead people. Child's Play: I've got a date with a six year old boy.
+Vince Shadell As much of a dark sense of humour as I have, meaning seeing "date" as the person being unlucky - that still brings up bad implications. Better line: "I've have some babysitting duty to attend to".
+Super FNAF Lover XL I did not transfer my soul to a doll. It's not true. It's bullshit. I did not transfer my soul to a doll. I did NAHT. ...Oh hai, Mark.
@@gracekim25 "Glad he's still going strong" implies something happened that would hinder his content creation or something else. You could have told me what happened, but rather than enlightening me, you decided to be condescending, thanks for the useless response.
Clark Griswold Go watch the commentary sometime. They mentioned that they wanted to do a joke where they dubbed in, "Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!" from Nightmare.
I do now. I can't believe Chris Sarandon was in my childhood horror movie. My older sister grew up with all five of them and every time we watch them on TV, she and my older brother would tease me that Chucky would get me.
@@lisettegarcia7013 I grew up with the first four. I was an infant when the first came out, I was a toddler when the 2nd and 3rd ones came out, and i was a tween when the 4th one (Bride of Chucky) came out.
10:52 So what was Chucky's mindset here? "Well I'm gonna move with no batteries instead of playing dead and letting her think that maybe the batteries got taken out."
no...NO NO NO NO FUCK THAT SHIT FUCK THOSE KIND OF DOLLS ARES ARE DEMONIC LITTLE BASTARDS I HATE THEM ALL I AM TERRIFED OF THEM!...(sorry...i hate dolls....they scare me)
It's weird, when I first watched this review I hadn't watched any Phelous and didn't understand his humor much. Now I've watched pretty much all of his reviews and he's one of my favorite critics.
***** oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh you just got burn
Just because he's becoming more human, doesn't mean that he can die when his limbs are missing. It hurts like Hell, but until he becomes imbued into the doll to the point where his injuries are realistic, he can't die. He did however, have a functional heart-like object, so he died from that. Then the sequels happened and this theory became sh*t.
As a bonus, when he says "This is the end, friend.", he's also quoting Bea Arthur in The Star Wars Holiday Special! There's your bonus Xmas tie in reference.
Did they seriously just ask why Chucky needed Andy to take him across the city (on a train) to get revenge, instead of just going by himself?!? hmm let's see perhaps because he's a freakin' doll! lol what was he supposed to do walk on the onto the train by himself and not be noticed...
SlyBlooper If they hadn't already heavily built up the idea of the killer doll. This isn't like the second one where there's another ready-made villain.
Personally, I don't mind Phelous that much. He has his own style, some people like it and some people don't. He tries, though. But combined with N.C., I personally think he's fairly hilarious.
What are they talking about, that Brad Dourif won an Oscar? He was nominated for one in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and won a bunch of other awards, but he never won an oscar.
All the hate Phelous is getting; I actually didn't like him much either until I checked out his channel a while ago. His animated and horror reviews are pretty good, and re-watchable, from my perspective.
Nell Ross back before the CA crew was on RU-vid I had watched NC & hate Phelous... then after giving a few of his videos a chance I ended up loving him more than NC for quite a few years
modelmajorpita lol, Well that answers that. It must have been scary when you were that young. I saw Nightmare on Elm 3 when I was a young kid so I know where you're coming from. Oddly enough it was a double feature with Pee Wee's Big Adventure.
400KrispyKremes Make's sense, since Pee Wee's Big Adventure WAS a horror film too, in disguise that is. seriously, I've never seen so many disturbing images in my life, as a kid of course, it was so horrible, I almost completely forgot it was based off the TV show, I actually found it more terrifying than Nightmare 3, because it completely caught me off guard, I wasn't expecting that from a supposedly "kid friendly" movie. Also that clown dream sequence was the inspiration for Stephen King's IT, there you have it.
I just realized something. Andy also plays Charlie in the Santa Clause. Also... Kid who's named Andy, also just so happens to own a toy who comes to life. +2 For two thought to be obscure Disney references.
to be completely honest, my dad let me watch this when i was barely even 2. I actually got a legit psychologist diagnosed trauma from it until i was 13. Sleeping with no light was completely undoable.
SAME! My father introduced me to two horror films when I was very young and it effected me for years, I literally could not hear the name Chucky without crying, even until I was like 17.
The same thing happened when I was like 4. I had a baby alive, and the batteries ran out, and my mother heard the baby alive going off when I was finger painting or something.

The year of our lord, Twenty thousand and twenty-three, I am drunk as shit, and watching a decade-old review of a movie I never cared about. Bless the internet - and fuck the internet.
there are two things which the critic may of gotten wrong: 1) the reason why the car went pass Charles Lee Ray is because his friend Eddie was in a van that drove off so I think that's why the police drove off. 2) also that isn't a toy hammer, it's a small metal hammer
Tack hammer. Yeah, I've seen it commonly used in crafts, it also used to be used in carpet laying before more efficient pneumatic tools. I have one of those kicking around somewhere, if the homicidal doll somewhere in my garage hasn't moved it again.
I think it's highly due to his voice. It's kind of monotone and that one tone that he uses is pretty annoying. Also for a lot of the times when it cuts to phelous' reaction it's the same reaction, him just rolling his eyes and lightly swinging his head the same way.
Tristan Oakunsheyld I was surprised when I found out so many people thought that, 'cause I've never really gotten that... but my family's kinda unemotive.
Interesting fact: The guy who plays the detective trying to stop Chucky is the same guy who played as Jack Skellington in The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Wow, all of the hate Phelous is getting is awful. I understand you not liking his voice, but some of you are taking it way too far. I actually love him and his videos. Yeah, he may take some getting used to at first for some people, but come on. He's actually really funny, at least I think so.
I don't know what's dumber, the fact that Charles knows all about Voodoo, or that he's seemingly invincible as a doll but wants to be human. Oh wait, he's "becoming more human". You know, a human that can survive multiple gunshots, burning alive, losing multiple limbs, and losing his head just like a real person can!
Not to turn into Douchey McNitpick, but at 2:32, Charles Lee Ray/Chucky didn't "fool" the cop into driving past him. In the film, it's shown very clearly that there was a getaway driver parked in a van waiting for Chucky, who then sped off when the cop car approached, leaving him behind. The cop (played by Prince Humperdink) chasing Chucky screams to the cop car to follow the van, so the cop car peels off of chasing Chucky to pursue the van. This is a pretty funny review, but that scene was taken way out of context. As huge a Nostalgia Critic and Phelous fan as I am, it still does kind of bug me when reviews will manipulate footage to manufacture "mistakes" in the movie that aren't really there.
It seems some people always say "But it's just a doll and it would be easy to defend against a little toy". I think that's what work's in chuckies favor (I know it's just a movie but typing is fun). I think anyone being attacked by chucky would be frozen in fear but more than that... dis-belief. It always take's his victims a few moment's to realize "Holy shit, did that thing just attack me" and that's when chuckie strike's. Just look at the mom when she first meet's chucky. She obviously trying to convey fear but I think she's going for pure dis-belief as well. I know I would doubt my eye's if I thought I saw a little doll running around :) just a thought on a great review of a classic favorite of mine
Child's Play was never supposed to be a flat-out horror movie, it was supposed to be a goofy good time, which it was... Now as far as the recent remake goes... Sigh
I’m very mixed on the remake. It’s suspenseful, it has decent characters, you sympathize with Buddi(I know he’s called Chucky, but I like Buddi) but you know what he’s doing is bad, there’s really good kills, and the CGI, while not always great, is still pretty cool. I would’ve REALLY liked this movie, but...it just shouldn’t have been Child’s Play. I believe if the remake was just its own thing, it would’ve done SO MUCH better. All you have to do is change up the names. Rename the movie Buddi, rename Chucky to Buddi, change up Andy, Karen, and Mike Norris’s names, and BOOM. Original horror movie that could stand on its own. This is just my opinion. You like the remake, great! You hate the remake, great! Opinions are valid! This is just me doing my own personal mini review of the 2019 Child’s Play remake
Child's Play is incredibly stupid but I absolutely love it. It's one of my favorite horror movies ever. The first time I saw this movie I was about 9 years old in the 4th grade. I got it from Netflix when Netflix was still relatively new and it wasn't dominated by the business strategy of instant streaming. I remember watching it and being blown away like the toy store in the opening scene because it was my first horror movie I'd ever seen. I'm 17 now and about to be 18 and I've probably seen it around 10 times since then. The point is, nostalgia.
This movie frightened the shit out of me when I first saw it. I had a chucky doll. I watched 1-3 in succession of each other. It terrified me so much when I was 6 I literally stayed up for over 2 weeks and broke my sisters toys and threw away the Chucky I had. I grew out of it as I got older. Now my 5 year old and I watch it and he laughs and enjoys it thoroughly. Ironically it's one of his favorite movies. He really enjoyed the new one. That's what I find weird I was scared shitless when I was his age, I think he enjoys it cause I enjoy it. We have watched almost every classic horror movie together. He laughs at all of them.
I always felt sorry for Andy. He's having to be subjected to all these horrible things and the parents/adults he tells don't believe him. That made him a helpless victim.
when chucky says that it's the witch doctor's fault for him being stuck in the doll, why is it not his own fault? He was the one who transferred his soul into the doll. there was no one standing in front of him telling him to. He could have just as easily let himself die and be reincarnated or something. He didn't have to do this. Or he could have waited to reveal himself until he found a baby or something and transferred into that. the baby couldn't resist and he could start his life over again. He should have probably discussed this more with the witch doctor before he got into all this trouble. Then he could of had a more solid plan in case this happened. but i guess the possibility of the serial killer being "born again" wasn't scary enough so the had to put him in a non threatening doll body and have him be semi invincible. I think it would have been more interesting to follow the psychotic baby killer through his whole killing career than watch a doll be reincarnated five times with even sillier concepts than this one. Congrats on expanding on a really lame idea. Thanks for all the pain.
11:58 oh god Doug has a Pinkenma doll who slaughtered his family, RUN DOUG ITS NOT SAFE TO BE AROUND PINKENMA, she'll turn you into *gulps* CUPCAKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's with all the Phelous hate??? O.o Did I miss something? Anyway... suddenly these reviews have a whole lot of potential Five Nights at Freddy's references going to waste...
Cut to Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, played by Phelous.) Shredder: He's right, you know. NC: Get Out Shredder! (Shredder walks off sadly, accompanied by the sung lyrics "Christmas time is here" from A Charlie Brown Christmas.)
