Not all issues are worth fighting my brother over. Not every issue is even worth fighting with sinners over.

The biggest sin is to think all sins are equal. 😂 Great video

Excellent discussion! I agree with your position entirely! I do have some comments though. When Paul granted Christian liberty in his writings to Romans and Corinthians, he offered the saints latitude, not just leadership. Every single person of every single assembly or fellowship should not be required to conduct themselves exactly in dress or lifestyle. This practice is cultish and clannish. There is no such practice listed in Scripture. Every epistle taught a universal message. This is the prevailing practice in our movement, if leadership teaches against short sleeves, Christmas, beards, etc. all saints must comply or they are labeled rebellious and ostracized by their group. The Galatian, Philippian, Corinthians and so on were not taught differently from their leadership. When there were factions, as listed in Acts, a council was called to iron out differences. Disfellowshipping wasn’t the model. Why can’t leadership come together for the common good of all? Christian liberty can be exercised, but not so much to cause offense, and there is huge difference in contention and offense. Contention is prideful, humility from the weak and strong should be considered.

Great beginning of an important conversation. I would say that higher education, whether theological or otherwise, is not necessarily for every person or minister. We all have our particular gifts and leanings. I do think it is important for a minister to develop some type of trade, get an education that they can use to provide for themselves, and those in their care. This MAY include getting a theological degree. Having an MDiv would allow chaplaincy opportunities in many areas. As far as the adjunct professor idea, those opportunities are connected to more than just a degree and teaching a few courses will probably not make for a sustainable income. Just being real. Each person has to figure out their own path and pray about what God desires for them to do. With that said, I do have an MDiv, and the journey of completing the degree changed my life. I'm forever grateful. It forced me to wrestle with Scripture in ways I probably never would. Jesus said there are weightier matters of the law (Matt 23:23). So, amen to that. The color of dress shirts is not even in the discussion.

Excellent response. One would have to teach multiple classes at a time to be able to live off of adjuncting. There are those who do it. But it could make for a nice supplemental income for an evangelist or other ministers as well.

I also agree that higher education is not for everyone
