I'm not going to act like I didn't think Mystic Mine needed to be hit, but the way Konami went about it is so frustrating. Last format it was a terror and everyone wanted it gone, but Konami was like "nope!" This format it does almost nothing and now Konami's like "alright, time to hit it!" Good job as ever, Konams -_-

I think the other reason they’re putting D-Fissure and Macro to 3 is because they want to push the Kashtira support in Photon Hypernova.

My conspiracy theory on this list is that it was an addendum to the October list that got left in a file drawer that Konami just got around to cleaning out, and when they found it they just shrugged and were like “sure, we’ll release this”

I'm terrified of cosmos and dimensional fissure being unlimited. It's a hit to tear but hurts so many other decks. Metaverse, I'm actually fine with. 8/10 banlist altogether for me.

I talked to my wife about this. Its almost as if the person who decides ultimately what is banned and what is not banned was on vacation and they came back to fix what should have been on the last list. There really was no reason for the TCG to be the only format with Mystic Mine still legal.

I’d say that enjoyable for the tear mirrors is correct, but I do not agree that “healthy” is the correct term for a tier 0 format. Tier 0 being enjoyable is nice, but it does not make things healthy for new players, especially the prices of said tier 0 decks being impossible to breach for players just wanting to get into things. I’d say this list does do some things to curb this format a little, but does not make this a “healthy” format. We’ll have to see what Photon Hypernova does to the meta, but as a casual player, I’m gonna be taking a break from the current meta

I don’t agree with MBT that this Tear format is fun. It’s only fun if you’re a Tear/Ishizu player yourself. While I prefer fast interaction over 10min boards with a dozen negates, it almost feels like there’s TOO much interaction (and I play Earth Box). Like I enjoy back n forth games and chains, but every card potentially leading to a 6,7, or 8 link chain with entire GYs getting thrown around is just too much😵‍💫. I can see how this is fine if you’re a hardcore Yugioh player like a Yugituber or regular YCS attendant. Idk maybe I’m just becoming a boomer (though I found Branded format to be fun and a fair level of interaction).

What I realized earlier is that a deck such as Predaplant truly doesn't need their graveyard, while yes they do have benefits of being in the graveyard, they can extract an extremely good and much more Super Poly focused gameplay that can play some of the best cards out like Dimension Fissure and Dimension Shifter. When the best deck out right now is absolutely Ishizu Tear you can practically buh-bye their combo with something like D Shifter and when comes your turn, super poly the scraps of combo that remains.

The mirror is taking 10 minutes to resolve the first chain of turn 1. It's miserable lmao.

Herald of orange light is also an indirect hit to madolche we would recycle it with teacher to have an out to nibiru and if the don't run it then still had use for any other combo stopper.

Happy Recital starling is at 2, happy that bird up got that form of interaction back, since it wasn't broken.

Look i do like tear and i think its a massive step up in designing archetypes away from annoying to learn and boring to play linear combos. However I wouldve loved to see like half of ishizu-tear get semi limited, as seen in the ocg its still gonna be far and away the best deck but hurting the consistency would help to make the deck more fun and interactive imo. Like tear vs tear is fun but because of how oppressive tear is it makes any deck that not tear the least interactive shit in the world like floo and other d shifter turbo decks.

Tellarknight Ptolemaus's effect is actually pretty good, not sure if it will see play but I might give it a whirl in some decks like Exosister for a good generic rank 4 that can interact with the opponent on their turn.

Do you think they're freeing Ptolemeaus now so that decks can have access to constellar Diamond as an anti--tear floodgate?

A deck that gives players what they want, as long as what they want is a tier 0 format.

I didn't dislike Mine but I've been asking for it banned for years if that meant Metaverse could come back to at least 2. I wanna Trap Trick it in Lair of Darkness.

I would just like to point out that there is still a remote duel YCS beginning of December. No events after, but that’s technically one more big event.

MBT praising the Tear mirror but whining about macro and dim fis unlimits is very funny. If you want your tier 0 mirrors to exist, then you have to make the broken hate-cards legal for all of the other decks, even if GY strategies think they're un-fun. That is the price you pay for a tier 0 format, and it's a more than fair price.

I like floodgates that aren't just "you can't do X." IO, TCBOO, Gozen, Skill Drain, etc. all are strictly unfun cards because they just don't allow general things. D.Fiss and Macro are only really a problem solely because Konami wants the graveyard to be your hand where all the effects and actions are done, your hand to be your deck where its mostly for that one card first turn an for discard cost, and your deck to be your graveyard where anything in there is dead.

Thing about metaverse is that it can make field spells miss timing

Nice Tearlaments will keep dominating the meta, lol at people thinking macro and dimensional alone will stop them as if backrow removal didn't exist. Now other decks that use the graveyard will suffer even more than Tearlaments.

Promotions to the guys who decided that giving players what they -wanted- needed was a good business strategy. Honestly, a list with no cards on it would have been hilarious and also good.

i just want to play megalith in my life. if built right, it is consistent and plays well trough interruptions of all kind, sometimes even sneaking a win trough a floodgate even though you don't draw the out. you know what completley shuts down megalith? shifter, macro cosmos, fissure, d barrier and droll. now 12 cards can end my turn, and would you look at that, the best deck is hit by the same fucking cards. FUN

Kashtira and Floo Players be like: TIME TO BANISH EVERYTHING

Sitting on a bunch of continuous back row to stop Tear from playing is the only counter play besides not activating any effects.

Konami didn't see fit to limit even ONE Tear name? The hit to orange light is hardly enough, and the fact that they just unlimited the unsearchable floodgates means that if you lose the die roll you lose the match

Sure, playing against it sucks, but hey, the mirror is fun so Ishizutear is fine actually is such a weird take ngl. The mirror is, objectively, fun. But It has put such a chokehold on anything not in the top 4 decks that I'm seeing people taking a break from the game left and right, locals are unfun to participate in, and we're actually seeing a resurgence in "custom banlist" events. Plus, the best option if you don't want to buy Ishizutear is Floo, which is just...ughh. Glad you have fun with the mirror, but the general opinion I've seen is that this list is, as usual, very meh. but hey, at least mine is gone. Now if you'll excuse me, i'm off to update my pacifis deck.

I really hate the decision to bring floodgates back to 3. They should've limited Perlereino instead. It is so overpowered that it really ruins the mirror when one player draws it and the other doesn't. Joshua Smidt talked about it on the guucast recently and I 100% agree with him. I would say it would be better to ban it, but players should have a chance to sell it for at least a little value lol.

I kinda like that they unlimited macro cosmos and dimensional fissure because it forces players to main deck more spell and trap destruction something I see people rarely doing and with macro cosmos and dimensional fissure they'll have to take out engine pieces that make their decks run smoother or risk bricking with a bigger deck

Lol, so Konami decided to ban a card that sees a fait amount of play but very little success simply because players are mauling over the fact that they can't play through it under the SAME format where your opponent can just negate your plays 7+ times on THEIR turn 1? Yeah Konami really loves to bow down to their community. I dont see a reason why it should be banned but I don't have a reason why it shouldn't be banned. Welp, I guess Jeff gotta find a new deck to play since Mystic Mine is no longer an option.

Really feel like this list just ends up fucking over people not playing top meta contenders. You're on rogue and get hit with a DFi or Macro and many rogue decks suddenly crumble, not to mention the fact that they are already getting rolled by Tear at the moment. Sure you can start mainboarding some counterplays but to do that for both the mass banish and tear itself hurts. Not to see a single limit on tear or spright though is just absurd when they are so clearly dominant.

This banlist is a significant boost to ancient warriors (which can use both d-fissure and necrovalley little to no repercussions) competitively, so I'm happy about this list altogether.

Looks like a good list. They hit the really annoying cards and brought back a few tools for rogue decks. Overall safe hits thaalt won't alter the overall format but may improve certain matchups. Then you feel the whiplash from Macro DiFi.
