#NotFadeAway #TheRollingStones
"Not Fade Away" is a song credited to Buddy Holly and Norman Petty and first recorded by Holly and his band, the Crickets.
The Rolling Stones' version of "Not Fade Away" was one of their first hits.
In 1964, the Rolling Stones' cover of "Not Fade Away" was a major hit in the United Kingdom. It was the A-side of the band's first US single.
This song is the first song on the US version of their debut album.
Although it was not included in the UK version of the debut album, it was released as a single in the UK and US.
This is the first US single, and the third in the UK.
As a side note, their first single in Japan, the country where I live, was Tell Me. I was born in 1971, so it's still before I was born. lol.
Stones arranged this Buddy Holly song with a Bo Diddley beat. This was the arrangement they were good at at the time.
That intro is pretty cool.
It's simple, but at the same time it's not an easy intro.
In particular, it is not easy to play coolly.
A characteristic of Stones is that many of their songs have impactful intros.
I think this song is a good example of this characteristic.
I used an acoustic guitar like in the original version of this song.
In the album version, the electric guitar is only used in the solo part, but I also used the electric guitar throughout the song.
This song features Brian Jones' blues harp. Brian plays while switching hands on a two-key blues harp. I played that way too.
This time too, we are filming and recording with multiple cameras.
The mix has a bit of a 60's feel to it, but it's a light 60's mix.
But, I used UAD's Capitol Mastering Compressor for the master bus.
This is my first time using this, but I really like it.
It's a vintage modern sound. It has a modern yet vintage sound.
It's a bit unique to use, but it provides great sound.
I use a Peluso 22 47 LE for vocal microphone.
For Guitar, I used Ovation for my acoustic guitar. It seems like a 12-string guitar was used in the original song.
In the 1960s, there were no Ovation acoustic guitars yet, but this time I used one because I wasn't particularly particular about recreating the sounds of the 1960s.
For the electric guitar, I used a Gretsch, which Brian also used.
However, the one he was using was not 6120.
For Keith's solo part of the original song, they probably used harmony at the time.

I'm going to tell you how it's going to be
You're gonna give your love to me
I'm gonna love you night and day
Well love is love and not fade away
Well love is love and not fade away
[Verse 2]
My love is bigger than a Cadillac
I try to show it and you're driving me back
Your love for me has got to be real
For you to know just how I feel
Love is real and not fade away
Well love is real and not fade away
[Verse 1]
I'm gonna tell you how it's going to be
You're going to give your love to me
A love that lasts more than one day
Well love is love and not fade away
Well love is love and not fade away
Well love is love and not fade away
Well love is love and not fade away
