NOT Having A Good Time - The Bachelorette WEEK 5 RECAP Gabby & Rachel's Season 

Drink every time Gabby says "yeah" and Rachel cries.

I'll be harsh and honest here, being rejected doesn't make you a bad bachelorette, bit canceling dates all the time when they are there for you to learn more about the men.... yeah....

Rejection hurts, but Rachel is in Europe! She turns down a fun date around Belgium with guys that care crying over a guy she really doesn't care that much about. She has a group of guys that dwell on her, she has been on some great dates, and we see that she really enjoys kissing Zach, Tino, Aven, and Tyler. Rachel needs to pay attention to what she has rather than what she does not have.

Tino: i feel unseen and wanted you to come prioritize us ... Rachel: Thank you

everyone that’s upset that gabby kept logan should have been upset that rachel kept hayden. sorry i don’t make the rules🤷🏽‍♀️ plus logan was respectful given that we can all see how public humiliation makes rachel feel. how was he supposed to decline her rose? and the leads have all the power. so he might not have felt able to say anything sooner. or producer influence; so many factors at play.

Idk why Rachel thinks no one likes her when Zach, Tino, and aven all are VERY CLEARLY there for her

Gabby is too funny and def my fave from the bachelor world,, I wish we could’ve gotten a full season focused on her 😩

I know Gabby jokes about how much she nods and says “yeah” but I just have to say I APPRECIATE that!! It shows that she’s such an active listener, always giving eye contact too! Such a good gal

I’m definitely ready for less crying and more romance/getting to know everyone better. I really do feel for Rachel and I honestly can’t even imagine being in her shoes and how I would react in her position (I’m sure I’d be even worse haha). But I also sympathize with the guys who are genuinely there for her and have had to deal with this week after week as well. I totally get their frustration but they did handle it well.

Rachel, you aren’t going to make any connection if you cancel every date and cocktail party. You can’t be upset when you’ve given them almost no time to genuinely get to know you. I feel like logan should of had the covo with rachel last episode im tired of rachel crying every damn episode

I think it was respectful for Logan to take the rose and tell her after since he didn't have a chance before. Rachel was very vocal about being so embarrassed being rejected in front of everyone so if he had said no to the rose she would have felt even worse than it made her feel to be rejected privately

It was good to see Gabby group's date free of Rachel's insecurities. I enjoyed Gabby's one on one with Johnny. Rachel have a great group of guys that is into her but it seems like she wants all the guys lusting after her so she feels desired. Logan leaving her team is a good thing that means she is one step closer in finding love with the right guy. At end of this there only one guy for her anyway so she should focus on the good connections. I am happy Gabby gave Logan a chance because she did had feelings for him but she step aside and let Rachel have him but now that Logan came to Gabby team I am happy Gabby talked to Rachel then followed her HEART and gave him a rose. Rachel said she hopes Gabby send Logan home but Rachel is being hypocritical because she gave her last rose to Hayden after Gabby told her the rude things he said to her. She did not take into account how Gabby feels...

Traveling is one of my favorite things to do. Nothing would keep me from exploring a new city, certainly not a guy I wasn’t even going to pick. I don’t understand moping around on a ship when you’re in Bruges!

To be fair, production and Jesse probably convinced Logan not to say anything last episode since there was already plenty of drama with Hayden.

I get where Tino was coming from. If he and Rachel had such a strong connection, surely she would want to spend time with him. Yes , she must have felt bad but she of all people know how little time there is to make connections stronger.

This is a clear example how people can interprete a situation at different ways. Gabby was rejected too, she cried, expressed her feelings and tried to move forward from that. I don´t blame Rachel but she is stuck in the same situation and that is not allowing her to enjoy or see the positive things, like the fact that she has amazing guys like Tino, Tyler, Aven and Zack

Honestly, I feel bad for Rachel and Rachel’s men. They really are missing out on the whole “bachelorette” experience rn

I understand Logan’s predicament, he got no time to talk with Rachel before the ceremony last week because of the Hayden situation. That being said, I know it sucks getting rejected, but Rachel takes everything so personally that I can’t help but feel bad for her men. To me a good partner is going to see you in your worst moments and be there to help you, the fact that Rachel runs away so often would worry me if I was dating her.

I think all of this proves that Rachel is not ready for a relationship. She reminds me a lot of Greg and how he showcased what it would be like in a relationship with him because he hadn’t worked on himself and finding self love. As someone who has the same insecurities as Rachel, I fully get why she reacts the way she does. But that also fully means that like Greg, she needs therapy not a relationship. Imagine she and Tino or whoever end up together. No doubt she would be like this all the time. Instead of finding that fulfillment and happiness for herself, she’d be leaning on them to do that all the time. And while yes, a partner is meant to be supportive and to cheer you up, it’s not on them to 1. Be the only one lifting you up and 2. Do all the work for you. Rachel has sadly demonstrated that she is not ready for this. She needs to work on herself.

I feel like the guys actually there for Rachel are getting blown off

Your intro really drives home how Rachel is coming across as the annoying part of the episode we just trudge through while Gabby is the fun love story we all wanna see. The editors really did her dirty here showcasing every single ounce of drama related to her love story. I feel so bad for Rachel.

I laughed so much at that intro montage and also the Gabby “yeah mm hmm” montage omg 🤣🤣

Rachel and Tino are the best match. He will call her out on her crap and challenge her to think outside herself. Zach is too nice for all of this. Would like to see him as Bachelor. We need another Sean Lowe season

As a person who reacts emotionally to stressful situations, I really feel for Rachel, and she has obviously been significantly impacted by rejections. It’s hard to watch that knowing all the great guys that are fully invested in her, but I understand how a rejection can make her forget the good things, even if that’s not logical. I just hope she has a positive week in there somewhere. 😅

With all due respect to Rachel, she should be happy with and focused on the wonderful men who are there for her rather than be upset about those who weren't. So much time has been wasted not getting to know them better because of tears shed for those who didn't deserve her.

I understand the frustration with Rachel, but we can’t pretend that we’d all be strong and perfect if we were in the same position. Sure she could’ve done things differently, but foresight is everything and I’m sure this is all much harder than we’re getting a glance at. I don’t believe for a second that a bunch of the people hating on her would do HALF as well as she’s doing

Gabby is a fan favorite and lots of the initial guys showed interest in her. I'm willing to bet Gabby also being a Bachelorette is adding to Rachel's turmoil and insecurities.

Crying over a guy that doesn't care for her, but letting the guys that actually care for her get's stood up from the date.

I really don’t think Logan did anything wrong. He said something as soon as he was sure and had an opportunity to talk to them. I think that he went into the season with an open mind and persued both like they were supposed to!

While it may be a bit of frustration for the men having 2 Bachelorettes (understatement) I love the fact that these women are supporting each other instead of the usual catfight/drama that one might expect from this unique dynamic. I don't know the correct synonym for 'bromance' with regard to females but these 2 gals have allegedly had each other's backs with little or no direction. Looove it ❤️

I'm not unsympathetic to Rachel. I can only imagine how embarrassing that would be to have several men completely reject you on such a public platform. But girl, you have to push through that and focus on the men that are there for you. After all, at the the end of the day all you really need is one guy that is truly into you for this to be a success.

Gabby’s dates were a breath of fresh air!!! I love Rachel, but the constant drama was draining me. I hope she realizes that she has an amazing line-up of guys that are truly there for her.

I don’t even like the bachelorette, but your recaps are so good I still watch them.

While I think that Logan may be truly interested in Gabby, I don't think he has any legitimate interest in wanting to pursue a relationship with her. The way he was speaking in the ITM interviews made it sound like he was more excited about beating the other men than he was about getting a second chance to get to know Gabby.

I feel like it is really not fair for everyone to gang up on Rachel. She's very sensitive and has a very hard time handling rejection, obviously. Gabby's different in that she has dealt with rejection from her mom, gone to therapy and also uses humor as a coping mechanism rather than crying. Why people always love to hate a woman for "crying too much" is beyond me.

I'm sorry but I don't even feel bad for Rachel anymore. Logan to me seemed to end things in a respectful, delicate way, clearly trying not to hurt Rachel's feelings. An yet, she falls apart, when honestly girl was he ever really a top 2, or 3 guy? Like why focus on that, if he wasn't even going to be your end game

I agree with what everyone is saying in regards to Logan and Rachel. I think Rachel has some serious insecurities and I feel like her not going on the group date shows another added side to her insecurities. Instead of saying "f#$% this guy, I'm gona go have fun with the other guys that I'm literally more interested in (because let's be honest, Logan was not gona be in her top 3), she instead cries over this dumb guy who's not worth her time. I know it's hard because she's been getting hurt back to back, so I completely get it, and honestly I would wonder if something was wrong with me too. But she was more sad about getting rejected again than Logan leaving, and it's honestly more "humiliating" that she let that ruin her day and not go on a group date than her getting rejected. Everyone gets rejected, it's really not a big deal. I feel really bad for Rachel and honestly I don't see her relationship at the end of this lasting very long because she is going to pile all of her insecurities onto her partner.

If I was one of the other guys there for Rachel, I would be so upset she cancelled the date. I’d definitely wonder if there was something bigger going on with Logan that I didn’t know about. It’s like she doesn’t realize there are several really strong contenders there for her, and only her. I get why she was upset, and feel for her, but you gotta make the other guys feel “seen” as Tino put it.

Everyone in the comments is saying that Rachel needs to handle rejection better and maybe she does. However, this poor girl has been rejected week after week. I’d be upset too. It’s embarrassing enough being rejected in front of the entire cast and crew but she knows all of us will be watching this too. Not only is it embarrassing, it’s also a giant blow to your confidence. One rejection or two is fine. But so many? Yeah I feel really bad for her.

Jesse handled this beautifully. Confirmed Rachel in her valid feelings of being rejected again. We can all learn from Jesse, how to be empathetic with others: not trying to tell others how they should feel or not feel. Way to go brother!!

Not sure if it is the editing or what but this feels like the most vapid season of the Bachelorette yet. Especially after Michelle's season. Michelle did an amazing job.

Idk something about Tino just seems off(and I don’t mean it in a he’s sketchy way but he just seems too perfect…). Tino may be saying he would be ok with staying with the kids while Rachel is flying but I get the vibe that if she actually chooses him, he’ll quickly change his tune and expect her to put her career on a back burner and become the homemaker; while he gets to keep working. Now if Rachel is fine with that then great but she made it a point to mention on their one on one date that she likes her job and wants to continue working even when she has kids. Tino is saying all the right things but I just get the feeling that in the real world he would be running everything.

I wish Rachel would understand how humiliating it is to tell Gabby over and over again, "I have never been so humiliated in my life to have men choose, (someone like) you over ME!...." What a stab in the heart.... If she loves Gabby, as she claims, she would be excited when some of the men prefer Gabby.... Rachel is all about Rachel! She treats the men and Gabby as if she is the only one who deserves love and kindness....

I gave this season enough chances to make me like the double bachelorette concept and the verdict is in: I don't like it. I think I would've enjoyed a whole season with only Gabby as bachelorette a lot more. It's just a maturity thing for me.

I am not going to lie. It has been painful for me to watch Rachel this season. From the way Gabby talks she has been in therapy and had done her homework. Rachel struggles with a variety of cognitive distortions. As a student studying to become a therapist, I now want to use clips of her for a project or paper in the near future. Obviously, this is an edited show but still! With the footage given it is interesting to see how she handles rejection compared to Gabby.

Rachel is getting exhausting. Also I feel like the guys are low key tired of her constant drama 😅😵‍💫 (don’t kill me)
