DAN! I'm finally back to watching some vids! I love the way you discover things and tell us about some of the history. Fantastic man. Makes me want to learn more! Sorry I haven't been around lately - I'm catching up with a busy summer!

Awesome sunset! Love those warm, vibrant colors! Isn’t it amazing how no 2 sunsets are alike. 😉👌 Cool discussion of the folds and faults… I have a hard time seeing geology ‘faults’ unless someone sets it out plain for me, but I’m just a baby beginner anyway 😂. Great that you figured it out and super cool that you can walk right over the area and see the terrain. Great visuals with the 360 showing the folds all around!! Ciao - Jen 😎

I’ve been meaning to get back there for a while. The heavy construction equipment really threw me off the track. Huge amounts of earth have been moved by man around in this area. I got a hold of a fault map in my area and my jaw dropped…three big mysteries….three odd land formations I perplexed over and over about. I was so convinced it was ice age flood erosion (as just about everything is around here lol) Nope! this is uplift with a massive fault crack that runs 4-5 miles right through Danland!

@@DanFarrar Where did you find the fault map- super cool! It really is hard to discern what is the natural landscape!

@@JenniferLupine Bruce Bjornstadt website. The problem that got me stuck in confusion was that the open faults became borrow gravel pits. The Fold I was on has river rocks on top lol

Hmmm, "Not my fault." The first three words of any one who is guilty! LOL Too many faults for even me to start identifying...you'll have to ask my friends and former students...they will certainly have many that they could point out to you! LOL What is the world is a "glimmer glass"? There's one for Google after this one. There goes a few minutes of my life and that is your fault! LOL LOL

@@wendingourway Glimmer Glass is what I call the CineBloom filter 10%. Several good companies make soft-light type filters for a lens. This one is from Moment. I just refer to them all as glimmer glass. Finding that was a fault solved three big geological anomalies I walk around regularly. Solved! I made some assumptions and made a whole video about what I thought it was….I was sooooo wrong! The good thing is I have a small audience that will forgive me or not care lol and….who they gonna tell 😜😆😄🤣 The fault was my own hang up but learning new information is always a plus. I’m perpetually the student who just doesn’t get it but when a discovery is discovered, everything falls in like dominoes. Hey! I get it!
