However, Rafale, like a lot of aicraft have never face in a real war, Russian, US, or Chinese or any other best aircraft other that the execercice where one rafale could shot down one F22, but F22 shot down 6 Rafales in the same exercice. I do believe Spectra system could be efficient, but you don't know what Russian are capable. Their are probably the leader on jamming signal. Reason why so many HIMARS, Guided Bomb, Smart Shadows... are less effective now in Ukraine battle. However, for someone like me who almost worked for Dassault on the electronics of the Helmet and headup display... I'm very proud of what Dassault is capable to produce alone. Can you imagine that when we let down Eurofighter because we believe that Dassault could build a better one!!! TADDAAAAA RAFALE... I'm scared that the 6th gen, will be in cooperation with other country.,.. the project will not go as fast as if it was totally handled by Dassault alone.

Any news on how it fared against an old skool FA18 Super Hornet(which is the warmup) Don't get me wrong,it's a pretty warbird and I ALWAYS loved the delta configuration but test it's chops on some boss level US aircraft and pilots like the F15 C/D/E. Those were 4th generation from the late 70s to the early 90s on paper and THIS Rafael boasts that it's 4.5 Gen? On top of that no active service for another 6yrs?(alright granted this is public knowledge;shhhh) most likely it can enter service now but like the PS5, It's likely they gotta work the bugs out. He failed to mention the powerful Spectra EWF system of the Rafale. Difficult to shoot down a plane you cannot lock on to. Allows it to operate in contested airspace.
@repeytis True. Plus Spectra enables Rafale to do passive acquisition and targeting, radar off, based on EM detection. Additionally, IRST complete the feat. So an adversary plane that, for example, would rely on radar stealth to fly higher and reduce fuel consumption would be easily picked (cf Atlantic Trident 2022, with a 17-0 between French and US + British F35 users). I am sure the Brit’s and US will adapt, since we are friends and they are highly competent, but it is just to remember that the narrative on stealth must be balanced. The biggest assets of the F35 may not be there. Regarding the F5, development is already started.
Yes Rafale used SPECTRA on missions over Libya to remain undetected. SAAB Gripen also flew over Libya doing recon and it was undetected too, it used it's version and that works well. Germany are building EW Eurofighters and they will have Swedish AREXIS based system for that mission.

Time out, I love the Rafale but anyone that knows how those air to air trainings go would know the F22 is usually like in this case (fight against Rafale) put in the worst situation or position possible to make it more favorable to 4 Gen fighters. Meaning the F22 doesn't always get to fight like they normally would. People need to know the full situation.
The Rafale does have stealth, but France went for performance before stealth, where the f35 went for stealth before performance, but the Rafale does have stealth just not at the same level of the f35.
@bariole stealth is not just 1 thing. Stealth is what the airframe is made of, and the skin covering and airframe design and sensers and scanners, it's not just 1 thing, yes the raffle is not stealthy like the f35, but like I said earlier, rafale was designed for performance first and stealth second, so of course rafale is not the same stealth as the f35, but it does have a limited stealth because that's the way the French desined it, just not like the f35 design.
@@barioleI has everything except the typical stealth designed from the 90s. Also F-35 isn't stealthy as soon as it has underwings missiles or fuel tanks which is obviously what you get at every mission. Also the F-35 doesnt have supercruise which means it needs afterburners, bot stealthy at all.
@@aimgorge F35 has a problem in policing airspace as if it rocks up with nothing under the wings it looks unarmed. Sometimes it carries an external pylon mounted sidewinder to look the part. The F35A has large internal fuel capacity of 8278L v 4700L of a Rafale so has less need of fuel tanks and they ruin stealth. If you look at the Gulf War no allied aircraft flew fully loaded and most missions carried only 2000k. No one goes all up ever. F35 brings a working loadout internally. It has radar absorbing coating, entrained cooling of it's exhaust and a built in targeting pod amongst . Basically it's not just a stealth shape with a low RCS.
@Jammie Russian planes relied on French electronic to be sold in other countries (Su 30 MKI). Since the agression on Krimea, this coopération has ended. So Russia will have to buy the version China is starting to produce, but not yet cutting edge, or develop it’s own electronic components, which will take time and money. The component they did not have for the flanker family will just not appear by magic in the Su57. It is not because you develop a new shape of plane that you develop a powerful electronic industry. I am sure Russia will try, they are not stupid, but it will take some time. And during this time, we will not stay idle either. By the way, Russia may consider tackling issues in Radar technologies as well, in which they are lagging about 10 years with state of the art Raytheon equipment or Thales. In terms of electromagnetic warfare, I would never underestimate them since they invested a lot to be strong in the domain.

The SU-57 MAY be somewhat stealthy but with only less than a dozen in service it ain't a work to any nation. TheJ-20 is somewhat stealthy but not at all in the realm of the F-35 and F-22. Q: Will the new RAFALE be was fast and carry as heavy a payload as the new F15 EX?

Yes F18 can fold it's wings and has a 2 seat carrier version also a Growler EW type so it is more ' Omnirole ' than Rafale. The F18 was bought by Australia, Canada, Finland, Spain and Switzerland and used conventionally as it was a versatile platform. Omnirole is just a marketing phrase as neither aircraft can land on water like a Catalina flying boat ! Sorry

If Rafale is capable of constant defeating of Su-57, than that is cosequence of capabilities of France Air Forces as whole. And if France Air Force was armed with Su-57, instead with Rafale, it's capabilities would be even greater than it is now.
what crap.. rafale does not have any stealth.. spectra EWF is a french electronic warfare suite. What is the garauntee that the french will give their version to india as part of the plane (forget TOT).
India got F3R and as F4.1 version was being designed it had no reason to not sell that version, but France removed all Nuclear delivery protocols from those aircraft as they won't share that with anyone EVER !!!!

First comment set the patern , Rafale is not ' Omnirole ' it is ' Multi role ' ! Omnirole is a marketing phrase as Rafale can't land on water like a Catalina flying boat or hover like a Harrier. In reality F18 has more capability as it can do the same missions and fold it's wings even a Growler version too! SPECTRA is Top Secret so its capabilities are not known by more than a dozen people ( none post on here ) and 100% it will only operate in peacetime mode anyway. Same goes for similar systems, nobody uses ' War settings ' in everyday training etc . F35 has 1000 X lower RCS than a clean Rafale so while carrying weapons internally it remains stealthy. Rafale has a huge RCS while carrying weapons from pylons and they cause parasitic drag and greater g limitations. IRST on Rafale is only available over the frontal area it is distributed on F35 so offers a 360° coverage also the tail partly hides the exhaust and that has entrained cooling. Basically a F35 has better IR stealth, a better Radar , better EW, better situational awareness and better range. This isn't to say that Rafale is not v.good just that an extra decade of development has given it the benefit of hindsight exactly like a phone. Yes development will close the gap but F35 will develop and become more reliable. What will never change is Fat Amy will always be ugly and the Gust the queen of the cat walk.
That's a lot of bs. F-35 doesn't have longer range, it can't remain stealthed without carrying meaningful fuel reserves (via tanks) and weaponry. It also needs pods for many capabilities which destroys it's stealth again. It also doesn't have better IR stealth as the F-35 doesnt have supercruise, afterburner use isn't compatible with IR stealth. The Rafale is better suited to low altitude, that's how it compensate it's higher RCS, that's also how cruise missiles work. F-35 has a better radar that's somewhat true. SPECTRA is better than any EW on the F-35, by far. F-35 was designed with stealth knowledge against radars from the 80-90s. Electronics have evolved by orders of magnitude, no one has difficulty detecting a F-35 nowadays.

F35 could ' supercruise ' at Mach 1.05 but that doesn't fit US definitions. F35 has longer range, lower RCS , better IR stealth, better situational awareness, EW capabilities etc etc . So F35 doesn't dangle a targeting pod like Rafale, if it brings upto 6 AMRAAM internally and it remains stealthy while Rafale has a RCS 1000 X larger when clean and like a juggernaut when laden with weapons.

What's important is the range on aircraft carried planes which is way larger for the Rafale than the F35B Both Rafale and F35 fly at high altitude for cruising but the get lower when nearing radar detection which the Rafale does better. Stealth is basically useless, F35 gets easily spotted by modern radars anyway. Rafale is compatible with 2 way data link but it was deemed useless with the integration of RBE2 AESA radars so they didn't implement it to save costs. BTW it's the same kind of radar as F-35 so no radar advantage for F-35 either. F-35 has a whole list of pods it extensively uses for missions like the EOTS, while it's carried inside it will impact the F-35 internal bay capacity and remove all stealth when the bay is opened. I dont even enter in the whole array of missions Rafale does better than F-35. Neither will I be talking in detail about the extremely large lost issues. Let's not talk about price per flying hour and F-35s crashing every couple weeks.

The Su-57 has never fought, is not combat proven, the engine is still not working very well. How come that you decide that SU -57 will win. Until good track record this plane is a piece of shit.
The Rafale F4.1 and soon 4.2 can take any plane one on one with his new radar and French Air to air missile... including a F35. The only exception is maybe the F22. No plane is stealthy 100%, it depend of the radar in front of him so versus the Su-57 he wins all the time.
@@Mr.Su-35Flanker-E ok you probably don't know anything about air-air combat. 100km is still a range where a missile can be evaded pretty easely, except for the meteor missile that that carry the rafale that has 200+km range (don't start talking about the R37M with 450km range since it's made to shot down tankers, AWACS and cargo, not a small an maneouvering target), the meteor as a NEZ of 90 km (No Escape Zone) it means that at this range you can't outrun it, you can only out-turn it or decoy but it's pretty hard since it has an AESA radar and can pull 35G, comparing to the R77-1, it only has a NEZ of 30KM and no AESA radar

India should steer clear of this jet at the extreme price. It will be completely outdated in about five years. India should buy only two squadron of SU57 or F35. Tejas MK1 and MK2 are as good as Rafale and most importantly the money spent will stay in India and help the economy!! Besides India already has Rafales. Indian HAL should incorporate all the Rafale features on Tejas MK1 and MK2 and make them better than Rafale. Why to make France richer? In this instance India should copy China.
Rafale is only 4.5 gen fighter jet that is totally unproven except in the cyber world. The fact of the matter is it is not battle -proven fighter jet like F16, F35, Sukhoi or Mig etc. It could be as great as its advertisements or NOT. No one knows!!

Before the Rafale, the Mirage 2000 was already an incredible aircraft, on par with the F-16 in his hay days, and even better in some areas. The Mirage 4000 showed Dassault could improve the design even further, and the Rafale improved on the design again. In 2000 it promised a lot but was a bit raw, lacking integration of several systems and confined to air-to-air missions, but already promising. By 2011 it was mature though, and surprised a lot of people by flying missions in Libya without NATO support (they flew the day before the U.S. and UK came) and without EW support. That’s where the hype came from. Real combat missions. India only came after.
SU-57 haves superior radar capabilities, haves much longer range missiles, much more maneuverable, basically in every aspect superior to Rafale. Expect of course the price, French plane is numerous times more expensive, and for that added cost you get all the western propaganda you can swallow. To be fair Rafale can carry more weight in weapons, but if fully loaded he losses bunch of his features.

I dont think you understand how it works. Rafale's EW will defeat any Russian missile which have proven to be pretty bad time and time again. Range is one thing but METEOR has pretty much the same range a a R-37 but bigger no escape zone. Russian tech is junk as usual
