I always thought 4 Roses bourbon was a bit over priced, now I see most people agree.

It's like Jack Daniels. 80 proof Jack Daniels costs more than WT 101, over $10 more than EW BiB and is only a couple dollars less than MM or BT! It's not a bad whiskey, but there is MUCH better stuff at the price point!

Better barrels. I probably put too much emphasis on proof in this video. The proof is not everything. But we really did not care for this. But, maybe in a blind flight, it will surprise us.

I was really surprised when I bought a bottle by how underwhelming it is even for a budget whiskey, especially since their higher end bottles are so dang good. I wouldn't complain if someone handed me a pour of it, but the only thing I really remember about it was how generic it was. Especially bad considering that it's $5 more expensive than my usual go-to of EW BiB.

That's a bottle of WT 101 where I live! Its 7 dollars more than a bottle of EW BiB or Very Old Barton 100!

Also agrees that this sounds overpriced. The Four Roses Small Batch is a favorite, but have not been able to pull the trigger on this one based on reviews.

Ouch! But I've got to agree. I can get EW 1783 cheaper everyday and WT 101 or OGD BiB cheaper when on sale. All are superior!

Exactly. I felt bad, but yeah... just does not compete in my mind. Will see how it does in a blind once I figure out what to put it against.

@@ThriftyWhiskey - Let's see, to be fair it has to be 80 proof. Here are seven options: Rebel, OGD, EW Green, Jim Beam White, Benchmark No. 8, Ancient Age, Henry McKenna

@Daniel Turner All of those are cheaper, at least around here. But maybe just do it that way anyway. Name brand well 80 proof bourbons. Four Roses, Jim Beam White, OGD and WT 81?

@@ThriftyWhiskey - Yeah, I was noting that too. The only 80 proof that costs more that I know of is Basil Hayden - way more expensive. I think I would actually include EW Green if that's the direction you go. WT 81 is actually about the same price as 4R in VA, so possibly the best price/proof comparison.
