I've been listening to Shpongle for 20+ years now... if you AREN'T tripping... this album is a masterpiece... if you ARE tripping... this album is a masterpiece AND will also change your life
I believe the album begins with world's last Kauaʻi ʻōʻō bird singing. He was the last member of the species and we recorded him singing his mating song when no females were there to hear it anymore. Sad and beautiful symbolism that fits this album very well.
Are you kidding me? I used to listen to this album daily 6 years ago for about 3 years. It was my oxygen. Now I live in Kauai. Whatttttttttttt!!!! Synchronicity
The first time I heard this album, I said to myself, "I've been waiting my whole life for this." Thank you for such a wonderful journey. This is what its all about.
It's like a deep need finally satiated, isn't it? Like coming up for air after being underwater for far too long and getting not only fresh air but also a gigantic hit on the mother of all blunts...
@@MrMarttivainaa Nothing Lasts still has lots of copies. I have the original Codex VI and the Repress of Ineffeble Mysteries and Nothing Lasts is my fav to look at, hold, listen to. Though my fav tracks are on Ineffeble. Nothing Lasts is just...... A masterpiece
This album, Kaya Project - Elixir, Entheogenic - Dialogue of the Speakers, Shulman - In Search Of A Meaningful Moment, Tripswitch - Circuit Breaker, Puff Dragon - Sazanami, Asura - Atmosphere... Neverending space travel, mabe a whole my life. 8) Thanks to supporting my mind in various, curious times!
I started listening to Shpongle long before I ever tried any drugs. I don't do psychedelics anymore, because anytime I do they tell me that I've already learned what they are teaching and just need to apply it. But I keep coming back to Shpongle, and probably will for the rest of my life.
This album is a straight masterpiece. Every thing Simon Posford creates is a masterpiece. Greatest electronic music producer of all time, in my humble opinion.
Totally agree with your humble opinion! To me, he is like the Stravinsky, Tchaikovsky, Bach etc. but in the electronic music and in different (current) era. People will realize this after 2-300 years :)
@@dbrestavrv2732 actually, though I love Simons work before this album(including this album, Celtic Cross and Younger Brother), lately every thing become all about production nothing about the magic. But, beside me liking shpongle, he sampled most of his music. And shouldn't be in same sentence with music giants like Tschaikovsky, Bach or Rachmaninoff One of many examples. For years I was convinced that this is his original idea Gabor Szabo - Bacchanal ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yXKeZXBh9sc.html Shpongle - Dorset perception ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a83Z1d1_ERo.html
I remember that epic day when we had Raja Ram on the set at the big festival here, my arms just went up on their own at the crescendo-drop and I just literally thanked the universe and blasted off into another san pedro + mushie wave.
I'm not even exagerating. This album was one of the most eye-opening experiences I had on psychedelics. It was so revealing that i'll be forever grateful. Thank you.
me too, i always come back to shpongle during a trip.... either this album, or museum of consciousness.... there's just nothing else quite like it, i love it.
Thanks Raja Ram and Simon Posford! I feel like beeing introduced to an inner circle of secret knowledge :D Not so many people know your music. Those who do, they love it!!
these comments sections are full of people bragging about having done mushrooms and super hard shit like DMT and adrenochrome. You shouldn't need drugs to appreciate this music if you are complex enough of a person on your own.
CaptainSkelebones No one I’ve seen is bragging, they’re just sharing their experiences with these songs on substances since these songs are perfect for that.
@@pre8209 Shpongle is practically Psychedelic music, made by Psychedelic artists for Psychedelic enthusiasts. But anyone, even people who live a sober lifestyle can enjoy and even Love this amazing band..! 😍
Legendary album, this one changed my musical palette as much as anything out there. How does it only have sub-500 views after being up for a week and a half?
I got introduced to shpongle with "when shall i be free" a few yrs back, one of the more mainstream tracks of shpongle... slowly got Sshhpongled and realized they just dont have even one bad track in their entire collection of albums! Cant believe i used to listen to rap! haha...
I found this album in a thrift store and was introduced to something else that had blown my mind away. Bestt gem to have discovered. Thank you Sphongle for creating musical masterpieces !!!
I want to say this is the greatest work between Raja Ram and Simon Posford including their own solo projects. ITs ambitious, beautiful, artistic, and bold.
What a perfect album. It's rare that I start an album from the very start and listen all the way to the end, and enjoy it every time... but this one hits every time.
i have been listening this album for like one week. at work at home at gym in cari everywhere... i was aware of shpongle and the album of course but somehow i discovered it again and this time its so deep...
17:43 and onwards is on of the best, if not the best, musical description of what a tryptamine trip can feel like, especially the mini waves inside the bigger waves. Simon is so good at transcribing psychedelic feelings into music, he is the kind of musical genius i hope future generations will remember.
But the instructions arent clear......to understamd that.....you gotta go there and bang the 1000 libs or the 100 tabs.....impossonle to know the trip unless youre a psychedeliic heavy weight like me.
thanks twisted music for not ear fucking us with countless commercials. it's nice not always having to pull out the hard copy album to hear it without commercials.
Yes!!! So amazing ... each song, a masterpiece in its own, only to seamlessly transition to the next! I have never heard another album like this .... simply wonderful, beautiful, entrancing, magical... simply Shpongle!! :::)
If anyone is wondering what that intro discussion regarding dreaming is from, the movie called Waking life. Highly recommended and thought provoking movie
This reminds me of the lack of guidance in life, while at the same time giving me hope that I can figure it out myself. Also that I really love shjit like this
They actually used a lot in the first couple of albums, quite extensively at that, but Simon is a master at sampling too, so it's always seamless and seemless :::)
Oh My Brahma! This album seems to be better than that 'Tales of the Inexpressible'! And I have heard only half of it yet. The few other albums I have sampled are not that hot - uneven. Still, some of the best new musical enjoyment in months. Far away from the West, as I am, I am puzzled that I have not heard of Shpongle until mid-2020, despite my absorption of Ozric Tentacles, and previous Web exploration. And, at 65 yrs, I really HAVE listened to all kinds of music, after Rock blew away my audio hedges in the 1970s. Now, if I had a hedge, I'd only grow .. . and ... (guess what). . ... .
