Any clarification from nothing regarding the "mandatory indian sim" issue? The indian units will not support international carriers on phone2? The only channel which mentioned this issue was trakintech in their initial impression video on phone 2. So I'm counting on you guys to figure this issue out.

Bro I had the same doubt as well. But I cross checked what they mean by Indian sim only is when setting up the phone for the first time not sure about second but this has been done to avoid black market trades which is actually a good way to stop it. I'm positive that we'd get good network coverage especially with those 19 5G bands
Costs around 45k but- 1. Doesn't have IP 68 or 67 rating available on Pixel a or Samsung FE series. 2. Doesn't have a telephoto lens. Other concerns are nitpicks but the above two are deal breakers. Currently, the S22 plus is selling for 49k at Flipkart and that beats Nothing (and even OnePlus 11) by all means.

Trust me, SD 8+ gen 1 is from a different galaxy as compared to SD 8 gen 1. Have used Mi 12 pro before selling it and buying a cheaper OP 11R. 8 gen 1 heats a lot but that's still manageable, what isn't manageable is the extreme battery drain. Like hardly 4 hours of SOT.
I got the Nothing phone 1 for around 25k, for that price the Phone was good. For a price of 45k, including charger and bank discounts, I don't think the price justifies the upgrade we get from phone 1. 11R at 38-39k ish, including everything in the box seems a no-brainer for me right now. Also, I don't get what the fuss is about Nothing os. Being a Phone 1 user myself, for the past 1 year they haven't been able to add some basic features. I miss features ike pure black dark mode, preventing switching off of the phone from the lock screen, default screenshot editor, and finger gestures which would improve the overall experience. Still, have to press the power button and volume to take a screenshot. Adding widgets, glyph features aren't that useful as of now. Features wise nothing os isn't up there with the likes of OneUI or other OSes.
the phone company just started last year while releasing a phone. really gonna compare OneUI that's been worked on for nearly 6 years vs an OS that just started? calm down.

Watching video on my 1week old 11r 256/16gb, I was waiting for phone2, but spending 5k extra+charger+case+screenguard it goes 10k extra... And now I am satisfied on my decision to go with 11r and saved 10k. Also, you haven't mentioned that 11r has 1+ that 16gb ram at 256 storage. 😜😜😜😜
It's true that there's a huge price gap but if you consider the 16+256gb option on OnePlus it's extremely less on value for your money because you are still getting that non-optimised camera experience and no one should be paying more than 32-35K for that camera that 11r has. 11r is better value under 40K and close to 35-36K when it drops down during Diwali Sale. Nothing Phone(2) on the other hand has a huge miss with a telephone camera, could've changed the game in this segment but nonetheless it's still better value for money than the 11r if you see the overall Package.

@@sourabhkulkarni1 as always it's subjective bro I am speaking from a pure 'tech in the market' point of view, if you see OnePlus, after the Oppo Merger their direction has changed and they have not been able to justify their camera experience on the price that their phones sell for. OnePlus 11 is still good yet goes above 50K in that iPhone price range. So if you are not someone who uses phone Cameras a lot then 11r l, even Nord 3 should be just fine for you. That doesn't change the fact that they are not giving you the best value for your money when Cameras are concerned. And like I said, Nothing P2 is not extreme value for money either on camera department it's HDR is struggling and there's an evidence shutter lag (can be fixed via software) but if they would've given a telephone even a 2x, it would change the game. Currently it's more value for money because it's offering you other features that phones aren't in this price range and I am not talking about the Glyps. Nothing Phone 2's real competitors are Pixel 7 and OnePlus 11 Not the 11r and 7a.
Bro its unfair ! Indirectly u r justified that Nothing Phone2 is better than Oneplus 11r. There is a 10k around price difference in between both. Because Nothing comes around 45k excluding accessories like charger,case,scrn guard etc (around 5k). When Oneplus 11r now available at 38k(flipkart). And oneplus 11r released at the end of feb 2023 at 39,999/- with plenty of these specifications now nothing phone 2 releasing around same in mid of july 2023. Just slight difference in camera, durability, connectivity and look but both r good. If Nothing phone2(8-128) comes around at 40k it can easily beat Oneplus 11r.
I'm was waiting for the nothing phone 2. I had predordered it as well. But after the price reveal I was a bit disappointed. For 5k less I would be getting the same specs, with the charger and case in the box. I really wish nothing had reviewed their prices before launching

Yeah but you also have to compromise on Ip rating and glass protection on the front.. OnePlus has not given any official verdict on their glass panel on the front . I think as Indians we do want a Corning gorilla glass protection on the front device since our phone by our mistake or by someone else's mistake a phone has a fall
11R has dragontail front glass... it is like gorrila glass 5 but a bit more flexible... i have realme x7 max with dragontail and it has had no issues with screen damage... even when i bought it and dropped it on marble stairs

You know Ershad just like you say gut feeling goes with the Nothing phone 2. I was a OnePlus user but QC issues especially with the display for OnePlus gave me a no turning back to OnePlus. Hopefully Nothing keeps their quality well maintained fingers crossed
I share the same enthusiasm as you do but just a couple of days back I found a twitter thread of NP1 users complaining about the Green Line issue on their phone displays. Although the situation was handled well by the Nothing team still I guess we have to see and wait. fingers crossed 🤞.

The only reason why Phone (2) is difficult to recommend is the lack of spatial audio support and lack of smart cutout in gallery. I myself am using Phone (2) and absolutely love this device, but Nothing really needs to add these 2 things at least. The lack of HDR support on OTT platforms is also weird

Hey Cloud you please explain how Nothing phone 2 is just 45,000 INR phone , it doesn't come with a protective case nor a charger with it, also the mentioned 45W charging (slow for current standard) is PPS not PD, so Nothing phone 2 is basically 50,000 for base 128Gb version

I really appreciate the review you have put out. However, I don't agree with your "Gut". I mean, the "glyph" is a vanity feature. 90% people won't be comfortable keeping their phones face down all the time as it would definitely scratch up the screen. The so called timer and volume features are redundant. Why do I want to see those things on the back of my phone when I can see them on the screen much more easily and clearly. It doesn't make any sense at all. The only interesting bit is, maybe the delivery time feature. That's about it. All these gimmicks don't justify their asking price without a charger and a case too. If it was 40k without offers, then it would have been a different story. Oneplus 11r is Objectively a better phone with a slightly lesser camera experience in my opinion.

Since the pricing of nothing phone 2 is almost similiar to last year's Samsung galaxy s22 (& Samsung galaxy s21 fe 5g SD888) can you please compare the cameras with these phones also. I really want to see how it fares with already A1 cameras given that One plus 11R is definitely not a worthy opponent atleast in the camera department.

Both phones have their own pros and cons, it all comes down to the pricing.... Who'd want to spend 5k more for the phone 2, charger and case... And how much one would like to pay for those glyph lights is a subjective thing. In the sale 11r might be well below 40k...

Currently a Oneplus Nord(the OG 2020 model) user. Was really a fan of Oxygen OS. But since the merging of color os I have literally lost trust in Oneplus. But in the Oneplus 11R I really like the fact that it provides a charger out of the box, unlike the phone 2 for which u gotta spend the extra 2k. So, I am really confused, should i get 11R just for u know a cheaper deal, or should i get the Nothing phone 2 (for its superb cool Os)??
Go for nothing phone 2 if your priority is camera and battery and experience - i have compared it to op 11 and indoor video and photo are way better than op 11 and outdoor are equally good to op 11 so i can say nothing phone 2 if worth it upto 40-2k better than op 11r and ip 13 i recommend 11r for gamers and iQoo is a way deferent phone way cheaper tbh gamers can go with Iqoo and those who who want an unique experience can go for nothing i dont think oneplus has any special x factor just a normal value for money phone for those who dont want anything deferent mostly for older ppl ( i am currently using the nothing phone 2 as a teen and highly recommended to all the teenagers it will give you a unique experience )
It probably won't have a huge price drop. We should expect a slight drop. Maybe 2k drop at Max since it's a new phone they won't. However you will get a good price drop on phone 1
There will be not too much price drop. As Their Nothing Phone (1) is still selling like crazy and in BBD it will get sold even more. So they won't have to drop the price of the phone (2) cuz they are already making profits because of the Phone (1).

Well let's be honest are the changes significant?? (Same design as last year saved money on designs) And come on how come companies like OnePlus and iqoo are providing almost same specs at lesser amount...don't they have employees too pay salaries too , for me it just feels like nothing themselves are trying too get every single rupee they can from their blunt reasons and hype of their first phone , if they really cared soo much about their customers why didn't they give a telephoto camera which we all wanted .... I mean they use the word premium but are providing mid range specs with "premium price"

Charger needs to be bought seperately for Nothing, which is again makes it more costly. And even photos I'm seeing videos finding OnePlus 11r better in areas.
Did you just forget to mention that it's a 45k phone + 2499 for charger + 1500 for back cover thats rounds up to 49k... And oneplus is sitting at 40k ₹9000 difference
Im not sure whether you will reply still i will ask my question, im currently using oneplus 6t. I had a dilemma on whether to pick oneplus or nothing. Im planning to use the phone for 4yrs or more. SO does the nothing is a good choice ? or should i go for oneplus(still my gut says, they may suck up in releasing the update and that green line may appear) .
