9 out of 10 people regret something big in their lives. Many of these regrets are caused by seemingly insignificant bad habits. In this talk you will hear what causes bad habits and how these bad habits cause our lifelong regrets. You will also hear how to live a regret free life by identifying these bad habits and purging them one by one.
Iman Aghay - imanaghayi@yahoo.com - is the Founder of Success Road Academy and Entrepreneurs International Network. He is the winner of the Top 25 Immigrants in Canada Award, a serial entrepreneur and best-selling author.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

I am nearly 70 years old and in reflecting back throughout the decades of my life, I can verify that being true to myself is at least in the top 3 of beliefs/ behaviors that is important to me. I do regret those times when I spoke and/ or acted in non beneficial ways solely based on the wanting approval of others. Still a work in progress. Thanks Iman Aghay and props to the people who are in pursuit of living a meaningful life.

"Life can be very short and can end up quite suddenly". Indeed. The meaning of life is to live a life of self-fulfilment. Not just in having a family and having career success. but to contribute with something meaningful that matters to many other people. To fight for a cause, to stand for something bigger than yourself.

2%, 1.9% to be exact, of the fifty thousand views left a 'Like' on this video. The five people I've sent it to, none of the five wanted to discuss it. Four of the five was depressed by it..... everyone has to get to this place themselves, can't force it. I'm grateful my road led me here. I was dropping bad habits over the past year slowly and surely. In the past couple weeks since seeing this, it's been a massacre. I am so grateful for the good people of TED, who by all appearances just want to make the world better. I hope I find the words to pass it forward myself one day. Great Stuff

I have the same road this year, dropping bad habits, re-learning good ones, correcting mistakes and learning from it - by taking notes from Ted Talks (and TedxTalks). It helped me bounced back, gained my strength (mentally and physically) and I also wish to help more people by sending the videos to friends. What's sad from my experience is that my friends are screaming for help/frustrations about their life and mental health. But whenever I send videos to them, they don't really watch it after promising they would. I stopped sending in the end because I can't help/inspire them if they don't want to.

- If I died today, I would regret the times I spent comparing myself to others, and lowering my own self-worth. - I’m currently 20 years old, majoring in a field that doesn’t align with my values. I want to be a teacher. But first, after I finish my bachelors, I want to study abroad in Europe, with a scholarship, since my family wouldn’t be able to pay for it on our own. And I still have doubts in my abilities, not knowing if this path is “for me” or not. But I feel like that’s just my fear of failure stopping me from even trying in the first place. - The bad habits that are hindering me from my goals are: negative self-talk, procrastination through social media consumption, and habitual self comparison to others. - I’ll be back in a year - that’s when I’ll graduate - to see if I’ve made changes to get myself on the path true to my heart.

What a great talk..!! Sobering, honest questions that everyone should be asking themselves.. But of course, it isn't so simple.. Most people don't know what they're passionate about in life, what they're willing to fight for, what they're willing to die for.. They're too busy making money, making ends meet, surviving and existing, too tired to question the important things in life. Their purpose, TRUE purpose, their motivation day after day.. Their beliefs and passions.. Goals, dreams, aspirations.. I think most people want to help others in some way, but feel they can't, not enough time, not enough money, not enough energy, not smart enough, simply don't know how.. Start with yourself and find your purpose..

Iman has a treasure trove of inspirational stories from his life. I think this is in part because of the early confrontations he’s had with mortality. Many of his stories are the result of the commitment he’s made to live the life of his dreams. It keeps him continuously growing and facing life’s challenges. Iman is definitely a great role model in many ways.

The words he said, "NEVER POSTPONE YOUR HAPPINESS" really hit me. It made me more courageous to let myself enjoy the small things in the now and in daily life. I often think I can only feel fulfilled or happy only when I can do something big for others. But the fact when he pointed out that our lives can end at any point without announcement help me to appreciate every moment of this very life and feel more grateful. Thank you a lot to TED TALK to make this talk possible and Iman for delivering a wonderful message to the audiences

I think a 5-hour work day, 3-day weekends, universal basic income, and universal healthcare would give people the time and resources to try and achieve their dreams and the time and space to nurture and maintain our relationships, and engage with our community. There are personal things we can do in our lives and there are structural things/polices that could also support us on our journey to create a purposeful and fulfilling life. Countries that have high work hours also tend to watch the most tv. Countries with lower work hours tend to read more, volunteer more etc. We have to try and connect some of the micro with the macro.

I want to cry to hear that, I will be strong than yesterday, do whatever I can do for helping each other, make my family happy, and always grateful for Anything and list all of my dreams, and throw out my sadness and badness, and change it with happiness all the time, thank you for bringing me into my life again, and now I realized it how beautiful life if we can utilize our times not for granted
