JCI at one point actually sold rebranded Notifier products. Then they bought Simplex/Tyco (which they dug into the ground with their really shitty business model).
Yes they did! Houston Intercontinental Airport's Terminal E has a Johnson Controls IFC-3030. I 100% agree with you on that. JCI is absolutely awful. One of the last inspections I did with my old company was a 4100ES in a massive hotel, and none of the smokes in the main stairwell activated any speakers or strobes.
@@Twentythree33 The stairwell smokes you mentioned should always be sounding an alarm or pre-alarm of some sort. Did it even send a signal to the panel? If so, what kind of signal, is the system two-stage, and is the system partitioned? If not, is there a fault in the SLC, did an isolator trip, is there a specific trouble the panel had that may have foreshadowed this issue, could it be faulty sensors not communicating with the panel, and/or is it a programming issue?
