Thank you for putting this videos together. I've been watching tutorials on how to build a GTD dashboard in Notion for several weeks now. Either the tutorials or system got too overwhelming, or did not capture enough information. Your video hit the perfect sweet spot for me. God blees!

Thanks for the starters for the dashboard. I think your breakdown of GTD, however, is a bit off. Your label 'tasks' seems to align with GTD's 'action' or 'next action'. Projects in GTD are any commitment that requires more than 1 'action'. The way you described Projects in this video, seemed more like the next horizon, areas of focus, and accountability. Overall, looks great. Just starting to dive into Notion. Thanks for the headstart.

In the "Needs Review" view how can I make sure that completed tasks do not appear?

What about the inbox items that end up not being actionable things? How would we get those out of our inbox and somewhere safe that we can review or retrieve when needed?
@alexwallace2937

Hey, instead of linking my tasks in my inbox table to a project in my project table I would rather link my inbox tasks to separate project tables for example, inbox task: go to the cinema with max, then select link to friends and family table (so that it creates that task as it’s own seperate row in a table), inbox task: go for a run, then select link to health and fitness table, inbox task: read up on cardiology, then select add to university table, is there any way to do this?

I really love this tutorial, thanks for creating this. I noticed that the tasks stay in the Projects view even if they've been ticked as Complete. Do you know if there is a way to have the Projects table filter out any tasks that have been ticked as complete?
@ProductiveDude
@ProductiveDude Год назад
Unfortunately there is no way to filter that :(

@@ProductiveDude been using this setup for a week now and I really like it. I've just got rid of my Evernote subscription so taking me some time to get used to it. But I generally review the completed tasks at the end of the week and just delete them manually.

Hey, great video! Have just one question- I wanna create one additional section where I will be store all completed tasks, how do I move completed tasks from the "needs review" section once the complete checkbox on the task is on?
@ProductiveDude
@ProductiveDude Год назад
Here, I filmed a quick video showing you how to do this: komododecks.com/recordings/RhH8uUfvknapxXmRLUA4
@chainsxwman
@chainsxwman Год назад
@@ProductiveDude Awesome, appreciate your quick response! Also, is there any chance that the tasks which are no longer required to be reviewed can be automatically removed from the "needs review" list? I feel like this would be a perfect GTD Dashboard in this case. Thank you in advance!

This doesn't fit to the idea of GTD which supposes that on the stage of collecting things to inbox, we don't sort them straightforward to tasks. They could be projects or ideas and if we put all the things to tasks it will crate mess or if we have to sort things at the stage of collecting them to inbox it takes additional effort to brain on the stage of writing pieces of information to the inbox 🤔
@ProductiveDude

@Arman82688
@Arman82688 Год назад
I've bought your template. Unfortunately, no, this one doesn't fit as well. The capture step in the template supposes again to sort things at the step of capturing whether it's a task, note or a bookmark. Once again, according to the GTD system, we do not sort things at the stage of capturing them. For sure, the reason is not just to "fit" a rule, but the rule was made to fit our way of thinking which David Allen spent much time learning for.
@ProductiveDude
@ProductiveDude Год назад
@@Arman82688 I don’t really know how it’s possible to start a task or note as a general entry but then convert it to a task or note in the clarify stage.
