Nottingham City Transport: The Last Ride of the Bendy Bus

Friday 6th June 2014 marks the end of an era as we say bye bye to our bendy buses!
Operating on our Go2 Uni 4 between NTU City and NTU Clifton Campus since 2005, they originally operated on Lime Line 58 between the City and Arnold and Navy Line 48 between the City and Clifton.
Now approaching 13 years old, it's time for the bendy buses to be retired and they'll be replaced by double decks from September 2014.
To mark they're retirement, we've The Very Last Bendy Bus Drive for you to watch.

To mark they're retirement? The correct word is 'their'. They're is a shortening of they are.

err it's not raining today and I was on one earlier so while this maybe the last Bendy bus it's definitely not the last drive. However this is most definitely your most friendly driver :-)

As a driver myself I'd say thats her concentrating. People seem to think driving a bus is easy. I can assure you it isn't :-)

No. FE02 AKV was preserved and it can occasionally be seen in and around Nottinghamshire.

A bendy bus is like 1 single decker towing 3 /4 of another one. I bet they were scary to drive and a pig to park up and service them since they couldn't go over pits.

I drive bendy buses on a daily basis, in Denmark though. They are no different to drive than a single decker with no bend. Reversing is just like reversing with a trailer. It's one of the most simple buses to drive. A bus with 3 axles is more difficult to drive than a bendy bus. They go over pits easily. The bend can bend 30 degrees up and down with no difficulties. Side to side is around 70-80 degrees before it locks itself.

Oxterel Bendy buses surely do well in Continental Europe, but remember that streets are much narrower in the UK

Bendy buses are only suitable for airports since there is alot of space and can carry lots of passengers.

I drove similiar ones for calgary transit Canada ...they were a royal pain in the winter time otherswise ok ..dont know how they manipulate the uk roundabouts
