In my head canon he is one of the 13 because I don’t like Optimus being one of them like he’s some kind of chosen one. Which yes he always is a chosen one since he is a prime but he was chosen because of his morals and actions and not because of some pre destined prophecy.
The reason the siege Magnus mold has slanted feet is because the wheels are attached to them. The slant allows the wheels to touch the ground in vehicle mode and not in robot mode without adding extra parts and transformation steps.
Is… is the word not mold? Both the title and this comment use the mould form of the word and now I’m confused cus I always thought mold was the word to apply to tf figure molds.
@@Supreme-Being-8both are okay, mold is American way of saying mould I use British English sometimes. I always say Favourite and Colour instead of Favorite and Color
86 Magnus from images looks like an improvement... but not $30 price hike increase. It also bugs me as a fan of SG, that unlike 86 Ironhide & ER Ironhide where you can mix the molds to enough effect to not make the other look too out of place (say SG Ratchet, and 86 Ratchet as I don't know they're gonna upgrade SG Ratchet or DK-2 Guard into the 86 mold), 86 Magnus stands at least a head or more taller than ER Magnus, as such unless SG Magnus gets redone, he's inexplicably shorter than 86 Magnus and I'm not certain why they did that.
@@felipevaldes3487No it isn't. "Mold" is specifically when referring to the toxic substance that grows typically on old food. "Mould" is the proper spelling when talking about "moulding" something such as clay, plastic, or metal, among other things.
I think this is an acceptable official version of Nova Prime and I think a ice 3rd party upgrade to fill in gaps and give us some bigger wings will do wonders for it.
One theory for why the ankles are permanently slanted on every version of this mold is that they needed to be for wheel clearance. The wheels on his feet needed room so they weren't touching the ground in Robot mode. I think the designerd just decided to make the ankles slanted so the wheels would be above the ground ever so slightly.
Tiny nitpick: Nova is *NOT* one of the 13 Primes. He's one of the Primes that carried the Matrix and ruled over Cybertron before Zeta, Sentinel, and Optimus. Sorry, super into the comics so stuff like this gets me at times. Anyway, great review!
They later introduced "Nominus". I think he was the first 'Prime' to be a jet. I kind of wish the Nova 'Major' mold had a slightly different head though.
I think this was the perfect way to use the galaxy upgrade mold. I grew up with galaxy force, and its what got me into transformers, but goddam did the galaxy upgrade not do it for me. Nova Prime was the first time I got introduced to the "autocratic evil prime" concept and by god it was cool. I'm gonna try and find this guy because he looks sick
My guy,,,, nova prime wasn’t one of the 13 primes- you’re thinking of prima. Nova prime was the predecessor to sentinel prime iirc- and the reason it’s the devastation design is because it’s the same as his idw design.
@@returnedtomonkey8886 be fair. It was the best Arcee we ever got. And it was a good Nautica ( the blur was ok) . But you need to be careful what you wish for. We wanted a cyberverse Shadowstiker and they gave us the R.I.D. Shadowstiker with the cyberverse head, so they can do the Roulette and sideburn repaints. How bad of a repaint could you live with? We were lucky to get a version of Nautica as good as we got. Even third party passed.
@@returnedtomonkey8886 yeah see, me myself and probably just I , actually like the PotP Blur better. Just less kibble. The head master (ugh) sry PotP play ability is something I always liked. (I'm old still have my OG snapdragon from when I was a kid. I was thrilled to get the PotP line. And that kibble on the wrist crap is just bad. I know it's me I'm the .... You heard that enough. Sry.
I think he is not one of the original 13 in the comics, at least in IDW continuity, as for Devastation, I dont know how they handled im in that continuity
From what little they gave in Devastation he a great leader that led to creating colony for Cybertron out of inhabitant planets, but something corrupted him after making a short trip on a strange planet (implied to be Unicron) made him start terraforming planets with other life. But Kranix a member of his crew crashed the ship into earth to stop Nova.
Speaking of Transformers games, Hasbro announced that future games for the next three years will be targeted for kids and teens. But once Activision-Blizzard becomes part of Microsoft, the Transformers published by Activision will be back on modern platforms.
I have the same tightness problems. The chest being hard to open and the wings being hard to unclip. Other than that and the usual Magnus mould issues, I love it
I actually love the Siege Ultra Magnus mold. I'm actually passing on 86 commander class Magnus because I already have the Spoiler edition Ultra Magnus and I absolutely love that figure. So I have no need for another Magnus. Plus Spoiler Magnus was only $35 on BBTS which is a steal for that set.
Despite the end credit teaser, I don't know that there ever was a plan to make a sequel to Transformers Devastation. It was released near the end of Activision's licensing deal, and pretty much everything PlatinumGames has done outside of Bayonetta has been a one-and-done release. (The closest cases to exceptions would probably be Max Anarchy/Anarchy Reigns at best being an alternate universe that just happens to have its own version of some MadWorld characters, Star Fox Guard was a bonus game packaged with Star Fox Zero, and The Wonderful One was bonus DLC for Wonderful 101 Remastered.)
Nova is like Megatron before Decepticons existed or something either way he has the best use of the Magnus Mold. got him on Friday and boy does he look good
the reason his feet are slanted is because if they weren't - then the wheels would've stick down below the foot levels, cause that's how it is on the oversized knock off which "fixes" this issue also you got his crotch backwards
Ever since the Galaxy Upgrade OP came out, people have been suggesting it for Nova Prime. I always hated the idea. I thought it was bulky and ill-fitting. Now that he’s here, though, I find myself in love with this version. I’m so surprised how well the mold suits him.
I'm curious to see what the upgrade kit for this will be like. I hope they somehow make the nova prime feet more proportional to the body. That, and they fill the hollowed-out parts.
Actually the feet are already tilted in order to get the wheels off the ground in robot mode without ingeneering. For 86 studio series Ultra Magnus, Hasbro has been less lazy. Oh, i'm not the first to tell you...
I really hope that they make his Nemesis Nova Prime as well I wanna see this mold in Navy Blue or even Purple and with the Black Wings yes please 👌😭 I would dig that so much ! i would probably imagine it would be an Exclusive as well but I just want to see this mold in Navy Blue or even Purple so bad 🙏
Just got this mf for my second night of Hanukkah, he's lit af. My only problem is that the leg sometimes comes off, but I can pop that boy in so it's fine
I want to get this figure so badly after everyone saw better pics then those crappy hasbro stock photos that made him look fat and short even in combined mode but those wings are so small compared to what they where in the game and the comics. When I have the money to get him I so hope he get a wing upgrade set for him so he looks even more like the nova prime we know
I think Nova was a leader of a crew that included galvatron and went to explore the dead universe but got turned evil so Nova became this herold/tyrant to spread the dead universe but was stopped. I have this guy on preorder cause it was a big surprise this was being made and I know secondary prices will be nutty BUT I hope hasbro has gotten the yellowing issue under control cause this and 86 Magnus will be a pain if they yellow
I really don't see the hate for Kingdom Magnus. Yes the parts-forming kinda stinks. But I really think people will NOT like the size if SS86 Magnus.. It will not scale right with the rest of ss86 and other mainline bots
@@kiwigaming09 you're not wrong. But overwhelming majority of collectors display with other figures. The main reason I'm not getting ss86 Magnus is ge simply won't fit properly in my detolf case with the other figures.
I remember watching my dad play Transformers Devastation. My dad never liked using my favorite character grimlock so I thought he was being mean. It turns out the reason he never used grimlock was because he was extremely slow.
Did anybody ever figure out what those clips on the back of the thighs were for? I don't have this or the Galaxy Prime mould, but I could never figure out what the clips on the back of his thighs were for. The trailers for all three (Nova, Galaxy and Magnus) are just remoulds of each other, so I never figured out what the clips were for.
I have the Galaxy OPs mold now! (This version) I kinda wish they’d figure out something to flip the hands to turn into smaller hands for the core robot.
i keep say this.. atleast ,is a official nova prime by hasbro .. i buy some upgrade kit that current is out because is old mold. set that have the gun gap filler with new gun handler and i buy a matrix sword. i hope dna or anyone made wing extension.
it's more so inspired by the Devastation design rather then a direct 1:1. The Devastation design used the combiner wars Optimus as a base for it's model and this lacks a lot of those details.
I wish the backpack guns had a peg to attach to. The guns on my galaxy upgrade prime have gotten loose and fall down. Also how do you tighten the arms and joints on these figures
I never can put a finger on what you like and don't like when it comes to ratchet joints. Yes, i can hear the difference in these 2. But I swear ice heard you praise other figures with the same clicks. It has to be something that just doesn't cone through on my phones speakers
I know alot of people dont like the mold but i love it the white prime is my favorite part even though the ss one looks amazing i probably wont be getting it because it doesn't have the white prime
I don't know about ALL of the different versions of Nova Prime, but the version I know of was a previous Matrix bearer who was a xenophobic megalomaniac who ended up in the Dead Universe and was corrupted even further by it, becoming Nemesis Prime in that continuity. His original design had him as a "hypothetical retool" of Energon Rodimus with a trailer added (supposedly why Rodimus has a trailer hitch despite not having a trailer). This one does a really good job of getting the Nova Prime look, but I kinda wish we could get one based on his original design.
The design wasn’t from Energon Rodimus retool. Just Figueroa reusing a rejected Optimus design and replacing the head with what EJ Stuart that teased his existence
@@JohnWilliams-wl9px I know it was originally meant to be Optimus before being reused for Nova, I forgot to mention that part. But the core truck and its transformation were still very similar to Rodimus. Maybe it's more like how Energon Starscream wasn't literally a retool of Machine Wars Dreadwind, just a case of using a known good design as a basis and changing it where necessary.
My head cannon is that he’s one of the thirteen but the devoid killed him and was reborn as Orion pax and killed the devoid and split his personality to nova
