The thing is that It you take the Venn diagram of total tennis fans, pretty much all of them support one of the Big 3. And the Fedal fans are greater in number compared to Djokovic fans and have suffered in their following of Fedal vs Djokovic by far (far, far, far) compared to any other player. So you frequently see many trying to knock him for anything, even completely imaginary stuff. But not surprising given the results.

This pandemic has denied us of watching this man play. He has his personal reasons of not taking this vaccine, but a sportsman can only play for many years. Respect to Djokovic, that was a very classy statement.

Paire disrespected Novak for his stance and added more chance for us to win who cares, now retiring with chest pain and lack of energy is all Paire can do at challengers. Chardy and Monfils are not doing well either and Dimitrov retired with same chest and lack of strength recently. Novak also knew he was not a favorite to get a placebo.

I don’t know what you mean with ‘all time’. If you mean open era you’re simply wrong. There are 14 players with 5 slams or more in the open era. 3 players have 4 slams (Rosewall, Vilas, Courier) and 5 players have 3 slams (Ashe, Kodes, Kuerten, Murray, Wawrinka). Rosewall is a special case (he has many more titles pre-open era). But among the others Murray has the by far deepest record in terms of slam finals and semi final participations, beware of other achievements such as year-end championships or Olympics. At a minimum Murray is therefore #18 of the open era, more appropriate seems #16 or so. If you factor in the level of his competition - the top 3 guys of the open era - you may rank him even higher.

It's nice to see the human side of tennis. I think of the "Big 3". As great a player as is Andy, he isn't in the same league as the others. Otherwise, how can you exclude Stan? My opinion is just that; it's not handed down from on high.

Two things can be true. On one hand, Murray’s accomplishments are not anywhere close to the Big 3 and history will remember the last 15 years as their era. On the other hand, if you followed tennis between 2008-2017 you’ll know that Murray was consistently competing with those guys, beat them in big events, and is clearly the 4th best player of this century.
@lancemasters7800
@lancemasters7800 Год назад
