We lived in quite remarkable era of tennis with everything set in the best possible and fairest way. Imagine if Federer had two handed backhand or if there are two major on clay or Novak didn't have those early fitness problems or if anyone of them was in different era, things could have been vastly different. So anyone could be your GOAT but they made this era as GOAT's era.
There is no thing as "your GOAT". Stats say that Djokovic is clearly the greatest tennis player of all time. Not just by GS count. But most major records he is either number one or 2 with few exceptions. 1) Djokovic 2) Federer 3) Nadal. Facts don't care for your feelings unfortunately
@@EndOfAnEra... As a hardcore djokovic fan, I do think that the question of " if Federer had a two handed backhand " is legitimate, since one handed backhand is so much inferior for morphological reasons. We will never know of course
These two GOATS are heavy hitters. Still playing at a very HIGH LEVEL way deep in the 5th set! Even though this was in 2010, this highlight is way better than ay highlights we have in year 2023!!!!Today's players lack that endurance and grit!
@@tolendoi123no I’m with him. The big 3 reigned for nearly 20 years. They are the goats. Djokovic has 2 more than Nadal and 4 more than Federer. If you look past them the next guy is Pete Sampras who is at 14, not even in the 20 range
Its the moments that get away from Federer. Time and time again. Start of the 2nd set. 40-15 serving for 1-1. He ends up getting broken and the set goes quickly. Rafa and Novak are simply far more clinical. Roger playing a flat 2nd set cost him dearly. At the end so many of his decisions were so off. God i loved him, but his defeats were always so damn painful/avoidable. This match changed the rivalry forever. What a tennis match though. The rallies and movement are just phenomenal. Djokovic got the perfect tennis schooling. Constantly having to go up against Fed and Nadal in major semis/finals. What hes done in surpassing them both is incredible. Djokovic celebration was so cool at the end.
It was a problem from the start of the season 2010. But it is what it is. Roger was an amazing player and the most beatiful to watch. These loses doesn`t matter now.
Can watch this match time and time again... every half a year or so. Just the first minute and a half already, brutal Federer offensive tennis/striking.
as a federer fan this match was amazing because of the time difference I remember watching it very late in night not sleeping as a kid in a dark room trying to not make noise and wake up mom and dad like while watching such a high quality roller coaster of ball striking it was crazy
he sell that idea, but he is not really! every player at the top needs to be really mentally though! and he did invent anything! he is just to much vocal about it!
Your highlights are magnificent especially this old games where normally the quality and length of the other highlights is pretty bad and lackluster while yours are incredibly detailed to a point that it seems I´m watching the game live keep up the excellent work.
I feel like Federer actually played better in this match than in the 07, 08, 09, 11, 15 matches but it’s just that this was the most confident and free-swinging Djokovic had ever been in his career up to that point
I remember being such a fed fan at this point! but at the end, I was really happy for novak! and happy for Roger as well! one more time he proves that you had to go to 5 sets to win him! so he play really well!
Majestuoso.
This was the match Djokovics Nutritionist said he had celiac disease before the match. Makes sense because ever since he lost the final to nadal at this year. He went on to became the goat
what about 2008 with brutal loss at Wimbledon to nadal, 2009 loss at Australian Open final to nadal, 2009 us open final loss to juan martin del potro, and this 2010 loss to nole at us open, your gonna sit there and claim fed was past his prime? c'mon................ no one believes that,, admit it, the competition caught up to him!
More like prime competition (2010-2019) with Novak peaking into his beast mode, Murray hitting his prime, Stan & Del Potro being at their best. Suddenly, it wasn't just Nadal causing him a problem. The aura of invincibility of Fedal was broken.
To all those who think that roger is mentally fragile of the big 3 he was ahead for most of the match whereas Novak was playing catch up, and had to produce good tennis when it mattered ..if you look at the stats roger had to come back many times from 2 sets down to win a match in his entire career than Novak had done...and also in all the matches us open 2010 11 and wimby 19 he was the leader of grand slam count and never would have considered those matches a must win whereas for Novak these matches were must win..and he had to produce good tennis when it mattered ..he might be mentally strong as the situation demanded him to win at all cost ..roger was used to winning the championship matches in 4 sets all his career..that doesn't make him mentally fragile
Being ahead in the match is not relevant to fragile mentality. Federer won more matches (20) being matchpoint down, but he also lost more (24). Novak lost 3, Nadal 8 and Novak won at least 4, in the biggest ,moments. Just accept reality that Novak, Rafa are a step above Federer in the mental game.
thats understandable considering u cant show the match points because djokovic produced stunning tennis to outplay roger on those points. so in order to unfairly claim that roger had this match on his racquet u came up with a lame excuse from another point.
first chapter of the 40-15 trilogy, of course they screwed Nole by making him play sf on Saturday he was then easy prey for Nadal in the final on sunday , at this point Nole was 15 slams behind Roger and 13 years later he would have 4 more than Roger 😅😅😅
look dude. Its pretty bvious that dominic Thiem is the GOAT. Like are you speicial? Dominic thiem reached 5 gs in the strongest era of eras ever. Federe, nadal novak juan sinner, medvedev, zverev. He has beaten two big players novak and nadal in semi fnials and just came short of winning the RG. I hate you guys with your dumb arguments and shit. he is the fastest pacer and biggest hitter and at 30 is still around even with a wrist injury. Prime novak beaten by domi and fed beaten by him on his own hard court surface. the ratios point towards the austrian
But that's why/where Federer, the most stylish and aggressive attacking player, lost out. He won most of his duels against his greatest rivals like Rafa & Nole during the early years (2006-2010) because he dictated the play. But they, especially Novak, turned up their defensive game and also attack, Federer began to falter/fail.
@@X6593precisely. One thing noted here is that, from the middle of the court or on the left side of the court Novak uses his forehand alot more in pressure points instead of his backhand. So brave with his attack
