What Flo is playing at 0:49 is such a cool that is possible to play on guitar, but might be harder to achieve on other instruments. The muted, percussive notes Flo plays is also a very cool thing that is available on guitar. There are so many possibilites for interesting composing with these aspects!

I wish every novelists riffs were made with effort like this, Voyager, gravity, twenty years (forgot the exact title) they just play bar chords on their newer stuffs leaving so many spaces to fill with licks, riffs.

most likely when he pulls the tab out and overlays it on the playthrough vid, he inverts the color in premiere or wtv video editing software

Read the lyrics that's probably why most of their music is insanely emotional, metaphoric and philosophical you can take away a lot from it and apply it to your life and they're able to capture that sound. But their premise is not only speaking the pain they feel but overcoming it or using it for strength. Which creates that feeling you speak of. Sadness and hope
