I have two orchids like the one from Kiki?. They were blooming when I received. After they were through blooming they put out new blooms again. After that their leaves started yellowing looking sick.I tried everything I researched but nothing worked. Instead of throwing them in the trash I set them outside under a bush in my flower bedfor the summer. Ignored them for about four months. Before it frosted I brought them in. Two months ,after that one had buds on two old stalks and more than twelve new roots. The other one had put out two new flower stalks and new roots. Three months later there are six blooms on the first and many buds on the other. I can't believe they survived. Love your videos. You are a pleasure to listen to. Thanks!

Love watching your cheerful vids, Michael! On the Dendrobium cane front, I had one dying so I cut the green part of the cane and left it on top of the bark, it grew roots and now has a new cane growing. Orchids are amazing survivors! :)

Such lovely plants! Thanks for this video and animated commentary - I really love! I'm curious of how you forced dormancy to your catasetinae collection. I'm a neophyte with the genus, and I have three stubborn kids refusing to even yellow their leaves 😓 thanks again

Thank you for sharing your orchids! You are very dedicated to giving them the best of care. You did mention giving up on one. I believe it was a bolbaphilum. Not sure of the spelling. I would like to see you try to board mount it. It might need that!

Zygos are semi-terrestrial, so your medium is probably too airy at a guess? I don't grow zygos... so can't be sure.

I grow mine in a coconut husk/ perlite/ charcoal mix and it's doing amazing. I'm in the UK

I wanted to ask you about your Catasetum Fledclarkeara After Dark SVO Black. I bought mine a couple of months ago , it had a few leaves that fell off and right now it’s dormant like yours. When will it spike?

Isn't it frustrating when the bulbs start to rot. Like where does that come from? You're not sharing water, so it isn't spread to it by some other plant. Also, I'm sort of giggling because as I'm typing this comment, your September 2018 update is on the recommended viewing list to the right. No beard, the eyebrows are totally different. Is that even you? 😉 😘

Turns out orchids are a lot like my eyebrows and facial hair; if you don’t mess with them, they do waaaay better. From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate your insights, kindness and help. You really are a gift Michael!!!
