Part exchange welcome - low miles though
THIS LOVELY EXAMPLE WAS IMPORTED FROM WISCONSIN, USA IN 2015 & HAS BEEN USED REGULARLY SINCE WITH JUST 34,000 MILES & AS SUCH, STARTS ON THE BUTTON, RUNS AS SMOOTH AS SILK & HAVING RIDDEN IT TODAY FOR THE 1st TIME IN SUB ZERO DAMP CONDITIONS IS AN ABSOLUTE DELIGHT! THE SUPERB 6 CYLINDERS GIVE IT PLENTY OF GRUNT WHILST BEING EVER SO DOCILE WITH ITS SHAFT DRIVE SMOOTHNESS & THE ENGINE IS QUIET WITH NO RATTLES OR KNOCKS OR OIL LEAKS
These Z1300's are extremely rare & thin on the ground & were Kawasaki's challenger to Honda's 6 cylinder iconic CBX in the 70's. Arguably the CBX is the prettier bike but also arguably is the fact that the Kwacker is CBX thrills without the CBX bills being water cooled & shaft drive & ... right now half the price for a good one (which this really is) PLUS do a search for CBX on Car&Classic there are 18 for sale, do a search for Z or KZ1300 ... 1 for sale (3 rough ones on eBay)! So right now I think these are an absolute bargain ... if you can find one!
THIS EXAMPLE IS HISTORIC DVLA REGISTERED SO NO MOT OR TAX DUE (I DO HAVE A COUPLE OF OLD MOT's THOUGH) & HAS ALL THE CORRECT PAPERWORK FROM IMPORT - 1 ORIGINAL KEY WHICH OPENS ALL LOCKS PLUS A SPARE (I LOVE THE LEFT HAND SIDE PANEL QUIRKY LITTLE FLIP PANEL TO OPEN THE SEAT UP). I AM INFORMED BY PREVIOUS OWNER THAT IT HAS A LATER ZZR1100 CAM CHAIN ADJUSTER (MOD UPGRADE), ICON FRONT & REAR SUSPENSION, HEL BRAKE LINES (MUCH NEEDED), AND BEING A LATER MODEL IT HAS THE ALL IMPORTANT DEEP SUMP WITH CORRECT OIL PICKUP!
I've just spent the best part of a week detailing it BUT not going mad with polished engine cases etc. etc. so it now looks a million dollars & if I had the space I would keep it - as it is a very practical, usable, comfy old classic that will be a great talking point at any biker café - especially in the sexy black & gold JPS'que livery! I think it is a handsome chunky bit of history & represents excellent value for money right now
