Am I the only one who felt extremely sad for Akutagawa this episode? Dazai admitted to not being a good person there. He knew it was the worst choice to shoot him, and there was a chance Akutagawa would just die. Dazai wasn’t teaching Akutagawa a lesson about saving people as he acknowledged Akutagawa did save his comrades. It was more like, “You coulda still gotten the information for me, and because you didn’t, you’re trash.” Idk, it’s probably just a personal thing with me. It cut deep.

Can't wait for them to watch Odasaku's moment of glory. That was epic af and the impact it had on Dazai later on was immense.

Odasaku is a bit reckless cause Flawless almost guarantees he won't make a wrong decision. Emphasis on almost lol

It's interesting they used a ball cuz he has a weakness for children so he let his guard down a bit.

Just to give the ball context, if you were a person with a power that you know can keep you from dying by warning you 6 seconds before hand, you might get to a point where you become complacent and not careful cause you just assume your powers got you. So subconsciously your brain is like "I can afford to be as curious as I want cause my power checks me for the worst outcome". People can get too comfortable and forget there's limits or loopholes.

*Not spoiler, just a fun fact* As You already know, a lot of characters from this serie is based on Books or Hollywood movies characters. Odasaku is actually based on main character from "Next", played by Nicholas Cage. Kafka Asagiri (Author of Bungo Stray Dogs) said in a couple interviews that when he watched this "Next" movie, he has already started writing Bungo Stray dogs, and he liked this movie that much, that he changed the story, just to have Odasaku the way he was at the end.

If you have a power that can see the future, you too would probably act a bit reckless.

Also, both the OP and the ED for this season are bangers, especially the ED is one of my absolute favorites

i guess odasaku touched the ball because until that point he always knew if something was up his power would tell him so he got caught lacking

Episode 3 is to make you guys a little sad. Episode 4 explains a lot and shows how Odasaku and Dazai are extremely amazing

Oda probably picked up the ball because he worries about kids, he might have thought a kid was playing in the woods nearby and might get caught in the fire. Using a kid's toy to make him subconsciously relax his guard makes sense. That's my take on it anyway.

I honestly hate how Dazai treats Akutagawa and the fans just lets it slide. I know they're in the mafia, but Dazai should at the very least have done something about it after he left the mafia. Treating Atsushi and Akutagawa so differently always makes me mad . It makes it seem like he is repaying his wrong actions on Akutagawa oon Atsushi, which is not how human relations work. A lot of fas say it was for Akutagawa's development, but that is not a good excuse to abuse and almost kill a kid who loos up to you. I hate Dazai for that. I'm kinda okay with him as character, but I hate how he did Akutagawa dirty and just left him, then proceed to baby Atsushi in Akutagawa's face, even to the point of rubbing it in. TL;DR: Dazai is a garbage person who severely wronged Akutagawa and proceeded to do things as Odasaku would (i.o.w., the right way) to Atsushi while continuing to do Akutagawa dirty unjustly so. Dazai is an asshole, and that makes me wanna see Akutagawa brutally and slowly end him so he doesn't get his painless death wish. Akutagawa deserves better in life.
