Hey Scope + Mase. The discrepancies you notice in run metres between the NRL and Fox Sports is based around their definitions on what constitutes a "run". NRL treats any form of line engagement as a run, whereas Fox requires the run to either result in a tackle being made, or an attacking stat occurring. In particular, you will notice the biggest difference in run metres in halfbacks. For example, Jackson Hastings loves digging into the line and engaging the first defender, and therefore got 88 run metres off 18 runs on NRL, compared to 26 run metres off 4 runs on Fox sports. The other stat that you'll notice differences in would be around tackles as NRL counts 3rd man in. Hope that helps gents, love listening to your content all through the week, wish there was somehow even more!
If you're contemplating going to one of the Levels Network events...just do it. You won't regret it! The Mrs and I flew over from Christchurch to be there at the Olympic Hotel, and we walked out grinning ear to ear winning a signed Greg Inglis jersey in the raffle. Was great to see Skip (who's looking trim AF btw) egg the boys on to sharing some details on some wild nights out. So good to see G.I do an event like this, honestly at times you could have heard a pin drop when he spoke. So much respect. Without doubt will be attending their events in future, hopefully something this side of the Tasman in future! Thanks again lads for a ripper night!
Critter is the most impressive overall leader I have seen in a loooooooooooooong time man. Pat Cummins-esque. I hope he stays fit and has a bloody long career. He, Bizza and Romey are so great for the game; professional, hard working, community minded and still fun young blokes. As an old fart, I find they really represent what league is; hard working fellas from no money being grateful for the chance they got and going hard. 🤘
1:36:20 - "He's the quickest half...him and Hastings..." ☠️😂 I've had to watch this weeks poddy across multiple days due to life... and it's truly the gift that keeps on giving haha. "You're on fire" ☠️😂
If no one's mentioned it, it was Jake Clifford who tackled Dane Laurie in the air yesterday in the endzone. Laurie and the Panthers got a penalty for it, Gus Gould disagreed with the call saying that wasn't the rule was implemented for because the tackle wasn't dangerous at all
Generational Talent 1. Beetson 2.Meninga 3. G.I ( my g.o.a.t ) 4. Latrell You can’t stop the evolution of greatness 💯 I named my son (who’s now 5) after Latrell, never doubted him no matter what! Him and Mitchell Moses did what not many have achieved in Origin by coming in on Game 2 and dominating 💯🔥🔥🔥🩵🩵🩵
Hey lads. Been a listener since you both left Antarctica during its meltdown (IYKYK) 🤣 a question I have for you both, do you think Penrith are the best premiership window closers in history. Bunnies, Parra & now the Broncs have all completely fallen off after losing the GF. It’s a question I’ve had on my mind since last year but now seeing the Broncos slide so hard, surely there is something in that? Thanks for the constant content lads, all us fans are super grateful even if some don’t say it.
I'd rather my kids hear the swear words from Mase while overhearing the poddy - than getting them elsewhere. My kids just go "naughty Mase" when they hear the F Bomb. As someone with kids that listens on the laptop with the volume turned up high - never change boys.
L1 from day 1 here, love your work fellas. There’s been a tonne of people stacking on Nicho lately for the clutch moments but I’ve been watching lately wondering if our game plan is getting easier to prep for. Teams pretty much know what to expect from us and it seems to take a fair bit of time off our halves. What do you guys think the Sharks should do to level up? Or, do we just need to hold steady and ice those key moments?
Chur to the brothers love the vids Quick question for both of you in terms of SJ/TMM combo against TMM/CHT would you consider it similar to Sam Walker and Luke Keary? where together it can work but it’s a real push and pull combo
With the WAHS halves problem what are your thoughts on this? I think sj was always kicking and it has become predictable where as with CHT and Tmm you’ve got a good left footed kicker on the left side and good right footed kicker on the right side and they are sharing the kicking around a lot more with creates a little more of a problem for the defending team markers can rush and fullback can sort of sit on sj side where now they have a little more indecision
Remember Mitchell Moses had the same questions on him as Nicho when it came to pressure situations. I remember him missing some crucial conversions around that time too. Just gotta ride it out and keep trying hard.
Agree with you boys re Hynes having too much happen to him all in a short period - in the beginning positive and now negative. Back in 2020 when he warmed the bench for Storm the likes of Smith, Slater etc talked him up so much in the media and even pushed his name forward the following year for origin selection! Even back then I thought was super premature and in a conspiratorial way, all I could’ve asked for as a Queensland fan given how many games he’s now won for us as a Blue 😅
How would you boys feel about a push for jerseys 3, 4, 11 and 12 to be side specific? Feel like it would help casual fans like myself understand combinations and match-ups. Also, do props have a set side in defense? If not, how would you incorporate this idea for jerseys 8 & 10?
34:11 Question do you boys think it should go back to having a rotation of 2 games in each state like they use to do it I understand expanding the game but it’s origin and for these 2 states
Do you guys think SJ could play a 14 role off the bench once he gets healthy? CHT and TMM are a better combination for the Warriors at the moment because they compliment each other’s game better. SJ had a better combination with Luke Metcalf last year when they were both healthy. I’ve seen coach Webby use CHT as utility/lock role earlier in the year so interested to me if SJ could be an impact player off the bench. I love SJ so I’m interested how coach will use him moving forward ‘IF’ TMM and CHT string a few more wins before he returns. Love the pod guys 🤙🏼
Big Mase reminds me of the real OG shaquille o’neal. You often forget about many teams shaq played for, just like mase. You remember shaq for his legendary status at Orlando, lakers and Heat, and everything else is a blur after that. Shaq openly admits this is due to his training regime and that he just didn’t care to train like the others. What is the reason Willie jumped from team to team in the later years of his career? All respect of course, both larger than life characters and dominating the media scene in life after basketball/footy. Massive dogs fan btw
Hey lads, question about manly and having turbo back. Do you think they wasted time playing lehi at fullback just move koula there?? I think playing lehi at wing and talau to centre with koula at fullback for the last 6 weeks would have been better. Love to hear your thoughts being Manly greats👏🏽
Im pretty sure Kurt Capewell playing centre, and being dominant, was the 2020 series... pretty sure that was the one where he was marking up against Clint Gutherson in the centres
What’s your opinion on the Roosters & Titans bringing in their new recruits? Probably won’t play first grade this season, but if they do … I remember the Wahs being turned down RTS returning early with one of the reasons being salary cap. Would’ve been unreal last year! Different kettle of fish with his experience yes, but still confusing? NSW 13+
The Wahs will go to the next level when we and activate the right. Niukore is a killer attack and D. Then you got RTS and DWZ. That's should be one of the best edges in the comp, especially if you get Charnze wrapping in or sniffing out offloads. But, RTS needs some early ball off good go-forward, and just let him cook, it's an odds game, the more chances he get's the more stuff is gonna happen.
Boysies.. you talk about wighton’s form recently since going into the 6. Think there’s any correlation with Ben Hornby, a former half, being his immediate head coach now?
Would love to ask also a bit of a hustling thought here for the levels boys $$$$ any chance when use do the next event use could plug a few cameras in and do it live for a small fee to watch aswell .would love to see and hear the yarns with you and guests live ? NSW 13+ baby
Could my Eels be the best performed team to get the wooden spoon? They have had some good games, but they just can't close them. It's that old saying 'they've forgotten how to win'. We should have 'next year' written across the top of the logo.
Hey lads just a little stat I’ve realised. The dargons (leaving out the manly game) in the last 3 games (Penrith, tigers, dolphins) are 90-0 in the second halves. What the fuck is flanno saying to the lads at half time?
Interesting coincidence with 2005 origin to now. Kimmorley dropped after game one (a sharks player) and replaced with a half from a team coming last in Johns. This year, Hynes (sharks) dropped and replaced with a half from a team coming last.
Can we get your thoughts on old mate Paul Kent getting sacked ? I’m personally all for it given the amount of slack he’s given nrl players over the years
Skip apologies for the long message but pre the souths parra game a few weeks back you mentioned the bunnies could go on a run for the 8 so I had a responsible lick on them at 61’s, we’ve come into 5.50’s and play parra again this Thursday. I was quietly confident under the impression that tatola/graham (in particular) and munro/tass/shaq mit were to come back into the side/squad soon. Theres been chat that those first 2 might not be back at all, does that come down to an approach from guys in charge of overseeing rehab or S+c from club to club or does it just depend on how the player recovers on a case to case basis? Are we still a sniff to make the 8 if they don’t return this year? 2 different questions but would love your thoughts! L1 from day 1 🩵
Kurt capewell played centre 2/3 games in 2020 and second row the other game. Starting all 3 games, qld won the series. He then played second row every game in 2022 and started, qld won the series, i wouldnt say he was a swing man/ bench player. He also started every single game in the 2021 series which they lost. 9 of his 10 origins he started. His 10th being most recent coming off the bench last week.
Can anyone Sydney locals give some recommendations on good pubs/spots to goto before game around Allianz. Coming down from Brisbane this weekend and going to Roosters vs Dargons game. Keen to get amongst it before and after game.
Another Rabbitohs win coming to a field near you ,. 😏.. Has The Fox retired or.... injury? Did someone leave the AC on or something 😆.. Lads look abit nippy.
Everyone talks about Radley should of played origin, but who are you dropping to Put him in for, cause Yeo Murray Martin are all definitely origin players. Years gone back it was Tariq Sims and Frizelll on the bench or in second row and did a great job for the state. So i don't get who you drop for him
We in New Zealand have been wanting to host an Origin in New Zealand for Many years, boys will it be like what biggie said, it was all a dream😁 or could it happen, what do you think ?
@@briannnn98 We are Crazy about State of Origin, more than the Melbournians, we know it's NSW and Queensland, it's the only time kiwis and there house hold are at war😁 Even thou we are kiwis..
The Warriors play in the NRL, why not have a floater game in NZ? I live in Aus and have no issues with it, we are competing with rugby so origin in NZ would be huge. I reckon a magic round in NZ would also be a big deal.
G'day boys, Question for the next episode. With the announcement of Kayln coming back this week for the Knights do you think this is an audition for game 3?
Did you guys watch the female origin game 3? Did yous enjoy it? Was very proud of my Queensland girls after not a very good Game 1 and just pulling in for Game 2 👏
Quick question boys with how good the roosters and Melbourne are playing why do all the news outlets keep saying Penrith are that team? Even the bulldogs have looked better this year
Re Latrell - This recent obsession with club form from both states seems like self harm. If we only ever picked on club form players like Nate Myles would have never got a game. Players that have got the job done at the highest level should just be picked regardless of club form. Latrell should be the 1st picked if fit. For QLD leaving David Fifita out based on club form was the wrong decision. Bring on Game 3.
The thing is latrells club form wasn’t even bad… yeah he had a couple of crappy games in the first couple of rounds but the club was going through a coaching crisis/trouble in camp.. run through his stats and rewatch a few games and you’ll see that most of it is narrative. You can’t expect a fullback to single-handedly win a team games when the middles were going incredibly averagely.
Agreed mate. He also isnt a work rate Dylan Edwards type. Like Mase said he is a strike player. He won't touch it as much as others - but when he does it's generally damaging.
30:50 only person who can compete against Trell on the right is Cobbo, push Holmes to the wing against To'o because lets be honest, Holmes is scared of Trell lol
When Joey rates someone it's usually means something. I was happy for will pryce. With these corrupt refs what id if I was captain is walk of the field and bring the the team with me. If employees can strike against the employers players should do the same with dodgy officiating. Jobs r on the line
If Nicho’s confidence wasn’t shattered at the moment it would’ve been the Bulldogs first loss at home. 3 tries to 2, if he only got one of those sideline conversions it would’ve been a different ballgame and would have never gotten to that field goal situation. Missing a sitter from right in front shows that he has mental scars at the moment and footy media personalities and keyboard warriors constantly hammering him doesn’t help his cause, plus Toby Rudolf had a complete blunder of a game and most of the Dogs points came friom his mistakes, getting in the way of Trindall for Kikau to score then giving away a silly penalty when Kennedy had the ball covered with 5 mins to go, but because he isn’t a star player or face of the game like Nicho’s calibre it gets swept under the rug. It feels like the world is on his shoulders and everyone is watching and judging his every move like he’s the only player in the game, Latrell cops it too and it impacts him mentally and he loses his confidence and now it’s Nicho’s turn, people need to ease off the bloke a bit and let him breathe a little. The positive thing for the Sharks is from here on out they have very winnable games which could help him recover and get his confidence back.
Latrell Mitchell retirement, Willy talk to us about media spotlight especially for those listeners who don't know but your career had many parallels to latrell. Before internet everyone read the paper and those papers absolutely demonised and hounded you, I feel as if you were one of if not the first player constantly scrutinized in the media. How would you navigate or give advice to trell or players receiving the constant attention and attacks on their personality and career.
