Barkers beat is so steady any band he plays in is basically just him steamrolling unstoppable and the band just playing along with him , next level drummer
I agree, 100%. How many 65 or 70 year olds do you know that weight 400 pounds? I don't know any. He needs to lose a significant amount of weight so that he can see those later years and enjoy life. The world need his talent.
Unfortunately, years of neglecting his health has finally caught up to him, he’s in end stage renal failure and needs dialysis 3-4 times a week just to stay alive. Obesity kills.
1987 I hung with nuclear assault for 3 days up in Buena Park CA. All thanks to Katon pena of Hirax, phantasm at the time. Dan liker is the best 💯 even paid for my food up at the mall. Wild time's..... Anthony was 💯 and John. Glen Evans just stayed back.
Pretty impressive he is doing all these extreme speeds with such tight wrists. I mean, many of the great blast beaters of our time can't stress enough about loose grip on the stick and using the fingers. But Barker just slams through his wrist on every roll..
what you say is true in general but to be clear - this guy doesn't burn a lot of calories on the drum. very economic player. it burns some but if he would go jogging for 30mins, he'll burn much more
Nick Barker and Nuclear ... what a pleasant surprise ... would have never imagined ... This will be a sick tour to see... Need Hang the Pope and Mothers day
i was there exciter nuclear assault testament all 3 in a row man thats apretty tough one to top maybe destruction kreator sodom and dont forget tankard i met gerre too
Well when Gene Hoglan finally leaves Testament, at least they can recruit Nick. I figured they would have trouble finding someone to fill the shoes of not only Gene Hoglan but Paul Bostaph too.
Nick already played with Testament. I even have an official video released by Testament with him on the drums that was released several years ago. He left Testament because of work visa issues. More here: www.blabbermouth.net/news/drummer-nick-barker-comments-on-testament-departure/
If that's your dad, please tell him I'm a very big fan and have been following his work since 97'. With that said, he needs to take care of himself, so he's around longer.
Say that to Nick now a days, decades of neglecting his health and the stress of touring unfortunately have resulted in his kidneys getting blown out and now he can’t tour or even work anymore due to needing dialysis just to stay alive.
even though his weight doesn't seem to be a problem for his drumming, he must lose weight for his health condition because he can be in serious problems in the future
I get why Glen Evans isn't in the line-up. I get that Nick is a class act, professional and an amazing drummer. But, he's way to stiff, straight and mechanical to breath air into Nuclear Assault's songs.
