this mixer can go with you to gigs and it wont break your back or bank .Its astoundingly good value and good quality.Thousands of djs looking for a decent DVS mixer working right out of the box will flock to this.
I was a vinyl hip hop/dancehall dj in the 90s, getting back in the game...bought 2 Audio Technica LP120s and the scratch, with Serato DJ Pro...I love the features and the lineup on the Scratch...easy to use and spin with! Only belly-ache that I have, as an old-schooler would be that it doesn't have the old "rack mount" design the old mixers do...I have to put 2 hardcover books under my mixer to line up with my turntables in cases. A small drawback, but I still highly recommend it!!
Exactly what I wanted in a mixer to leave setup at home with my 1200s! I almost got the DJM S3 but I'm glad I waited. This has way more for the price and the Innofader is a big plus! Great review as always Mojaxx!
I honestly agree with you on the name. I almost didn't check out the video because judging by the name I was honestly just expecting a very simple 2 channel battle mixer with no effects or anything like that.
Thank you Mojaxx, very helpful. I love this point you said about having options other than controllers 6:25. I didn't expect a mixer to be this affordable, it's a decent one too
A new mixer drops....and I can't help myself from being jealous of your He-Man and Cringer Action Figures!!! -damn I miss the worry free days of a kid, coming home from school and watching He-Man, Transformers, Thundercats, Voltron, and my most underrated 80's cartoon: Silverhawks!
Indeed. They also rocked the direct drive turntable market with the release of the NTX1000. For the price and the options available on the deck itself, the NUMARK is where it's at.
great short but informative review, mate! just bought the DJM S3 and now I find out about this... been using numark for ages... guess I'll switch to the 'scratch' immediately xD
Great review as always Mojaxx. Numark are a brand I've had a good relationship with in terms of the hardware that I have bought from them, however the rest of the scope of their lineup has been pretty confusing for me as a consumer. They seem to have positioned themselves after a few years of trying to cover almost every financial point of beginner DJing to semi pro DJing , however without much focus on any of the major stops in between. I think your criticism of the branding is spot-on: I think that they are trying to directly reach a target audience, rather than building a brand identity for themselves within said audience, which in terms of consumer confidence can be just as important, in my opinion.
Great review!! Always enjoy your video. I've noticed all your decks are pretty customized. Who does them for you? As I'm wanting to custom mine. Thanks
Excellent review, this mixer is a nice alternative to the Rane 72 or the Pioneer S9. I'm liking this Numark 'Scratch' even more than my Traktor Kontrol Z2 and the price is sweet.
Thanks, Mojaxx! At first glance, I only have one wish for this mixer - I wish the phono/line switch was on top, not on the back, because I currently use that on my vestax mixer to swtich between a turntable and a drum machine plugged into the line input on the left side, and on the right side it switches between the turntable and an iphone input. It's probably not that big of a deal, but that would be the first thing to get me annoyed with it. Otherwise, I want it now.
At the beginning of the year I was planning on grabbing a Reloop Elite as a new Serato mixer, but since it hasn't come out yet, this one is prettyyyy tempting
I have DXMPRO w 24bit & 48k spdif for 10 years and I love it SOO much!!! NO issues (except soldering litle phono switch and loosing feets) under heavy usage. Stock crossfader still perfect, but the line faders are the same parts! Despite its low price it sounds fine in a club. Now my dream of Z2 could change.. hmm..
I was rooting for a Mixars Duo but I really like this mixer and was thinking in using it together with a Reloop Neon instead but I have an issue with the fact that there's only one switchable entrance for Line In and Phono. I really like your reviews and find them really honest and to the point so I was wondering what you would say about that. I know it's been a year now but maybe you have 5 minutes to share your thoughts on that, it would be extremely helpful. Still looking for a Duo with the Innofader in second hand though. Cheers!
This is crazy for the price! Wish they made this like 2 years ago but doesn't matter..I'm still most likely gonna cop since I don't have the 72 or the Poineer
😂😂😂 I saw one at the pawn shop! I’m snatching it up on Monday… even though I just got the Scratch and the NS611… I’m still getting that old school Vastex
@@CeDubble Its a great mixer. Throw an innofader in it and your good for its life. That's what I did. Painted it all black and ppl always ask me what it is.
I wanted a Reloop Elite, but for like $400 less than the price of one of those I just picked up a Reloop RP8000 MK2 + one of these. These are a hellova deal.
Hello, I'm from Amazonas / Brazil, congratulations on the video, buying this mixer, just buy Serato timecodes ?? Is the Serato software license included?
@djcitytv Thank you for posting great reviews. I'm looking to match 2x Reloop 7000 MK2's with this mixer. Do you believe that will be a nice combo? I'm an old rave/vinyl DJ from the 90's looking to get new gear to play again. Use to use 1200's but had to part with them many years ago. I heard that grounding wires are hard to tighten on the back of this mixer and tend to fall out, causing feedback/hum - Did you experience that at all? Is there grounding wires for the Reloop 7000 MK2's? Thanks man!!
This and the mixars duo is now the same price. Which one would you go with? I'm thinking the mixars the only minus I see is no post fader effects on the crossfader
Upgraded to an Innofader PNP2 bus was disappointed to find out that the faceplate hole for the fader stem was not wide enough to accommodate a full size fader. My fader stem is now hitting metal on the sides and cut in adjustments pretty much have to be tuned for more dead space...I hate it!
Anyone else having issues with Serato not giving DECK SETUP options with their Scratch? And DVS also not automatically activating? Not finding answers for this issue anywhere. Please help!
Post Crossfader Serato effects for under $500?! This mixer is in a league of its own with the S3 and Mixars Duo only having post fader effects on the upfaders. would have loved to see a usb hub on it but this is already a bargain and the go to Serato mixer on a budget
DJ Keo they have LINE/PHONO and a PC switch. Looks like of you want to switch between a turntable and CDJ you would have to disconnect one for the other. I guess its ideal for someone who only uses one or the other.
I run mine on an HP laptop (Win 10 Pro) and Macbook Pro and have had no problems with neither. Make sure the PC/Mac is purely for DJ'ing and uninstall any unneeded programs to keep things running smooth.
Is there a button you can press while pressing the pads that will make them trigger cue's 5-8? This + 2 PT01 Scratch's would be an awesome way for me to jump into vinyl without dropping too much $$$$. Would love if it can somehow access all 8 pads in Serato.
Decided to wait until the full release firmware etc, then things like the new Serato version and this came along... It'll be out in the next few weeks.
It works with Rane 12's but you would need to make sure you have enough USB ports on your laptop (one for the mixer, two for the 12's plus whatever else you got).
I would look into the audio technica lp1240. That's the best bang for buck. Reloop Rp-8000's, Reloop RP-7000's, Pioneer PLX-1000, Stanton ST-150's, Mixars, Audio Technica LP1240's, all have the same hanpin motors. The Denon turntable was engineered from the ground up so that turntable doesn't have a hanpin motor and also the new technics turntables. I see a lot of DJs that could get down on those 7" portables but give them a 12" record and some of them can't scratch as well with a 12" record. I been scratching on and off since 1994. I worked at a burger King and saved all my money to get my first kit.
