This is so Awesome, i kinda hope it will take part in the end of numenor where it sank into the waves and we have Elendil with his 2 Sons landing in Gondor to fund new Kingdoms. and then a follow up with a war Aganist Saroun. that could be really Cool to watch and i'd would be so ok with it. minor detail that i'm not sure of since it's the 2nd age then there are no istari? (wizards) Around yet or is there the 2 blue? Thanks for the Video well Made and well presented :)
Well, the beginning of the series is definitely going to be set before the the fall of Eregion, before the founding of Imladris and before the founding of Tharbad. So it looks like we'll be beginning with the creation of the Rings and the War of Sauron and the Elves, but we may get to see the downfall of Numenor and the War of the Last Alliance in the later seasons.
Thanks for the nice comment. And yes we're unlikely to get Istari. They arrive in 1000 of the TA. It is possible, however! The maximum time span it can reach is 2200 of the TA based on the second to last map that features Minas Ithil.
I hope to see the foundation of Lothlórien, and Celebrimbor being crucified by Sauron. The war for Palantirs. The 5 Istari coming to Middle-Earth and Gandalf/Celebrimbor giving Galadriel the Elessar.
Worth remembering "The series is also only allowed to adapt and reference content from the Lord of the Rings books and their extensive appendices rather than any of Tolkien's other books that explore the Second Age such as The Silmarillion. The Tolkien Estate retained the rights to the events of the First Age while Middle-earth Enterprises held the rights to the events of the Third Age (as seen in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings films), so the series was also not allowed to explore those." (from Wikipedia)
i really hope they are talking with peter jackson because regardless of how you feel about the man as a director he understands how middle earth should look and feel
