A lap in the RS testing the new upgrades (tires and brake pads) on the Nordschleife. Not a very good day as track temperature stayed very low so the tires didn't get much heat and could work better.
I used to have a Twingo RS Cup (white / black alloys) but myself and the wife decided to 'upgrade' to the Megane RS 250 (full fat - has everything). Mistake. The Twingo was 500x the fun :(
I'm very glad I've just bought a Twingo RS. Only testdriven it around an industrial estate in two directions, but damn, it's probably the most fun I could have for the money.
Awesome video mate! Nice to see a small car doing so well around the Ring! I personally love the Twingo RS! I had a 5GTT in the early 90s and that was a flying machine! Like some of the comments on here... there's so much you can do with modern small hot hatches... Would have been good if Renault had gone for say a 1.4 turbo in the RS..
The Miata was running on T1R tires, new suspensions with lowered and stiffer ride, rollcage and uprated brake pads, so similar to my mods. And the driver has a very nice driving touch so as i wasn't pushing mine too much just to test the new parts, we were pretty equals in terms of raw perf. Regarding the Clio, it has the engine that the Twingo needs. That says it all. Clio RS3.2 is the GT3RS of its category
I like the modern turbo's....My old GTT was a pain in the backside when it was playing up...But when it was running good it was awesome! I hope Ford do something good with the new Eco-Boost 1.0 and I hope VW do something good with the new UP!
Thanks :) I covered a total of 21 laps during the day, taking some friends as passengers for their first time here. Sadly the day ended with the death of a biker just before the track closure :(
133hp at that time :P. The Twingo has a great chassis so it makes it really quick in corners, not so much on the straights lol, but I remedied that by putting a Clio RS engine in it a few years ago.
yotah1 thanks for your quick reply. :) I have a standard seat so it probalby will not be as stable as bucket seat. But I will try it anyway as I have no other option to shoot video from this angle.
I've had it for years, i think i bought it at an electronics store. it had 3 mounts: 1 to fit on an air vent, 1 suction cup for the windscreen, and 1 which you glue to your dashboard. It was 20 bucks or so, surely you can find something like this anywhere today on Amazon or other shops :)

I remember I've immediately noticed your car in the parking that day, particularly the all loss-of-weight work, and I just wondered how it would go on track. Today I found this video, and I see you achieved just a couple of second more than my lap with a rented clio rs, the same day. Shame on me, LoL ;) (I didn't kwon about the biker, even if when we saw the ambulance returning with no sirens on ... )
I'm sure you're some kind of superhero if you can guess the horsepower output of a car by watching a RU-vid video. Man I wish i had such a gift, you're lucky! By the way gearing was completely stock.
Les sièges arrière il y en a pour 35 kg je crois non ? Tu as fais une gestion pour etre à 139hp et surtout 17.3 mkg ? Ou tu as une ligne en plus ? . Surper le tour en tout cas.
ligne puis par la suite j'avais mis un décata inox sur mesure par Inoxline Performance. La reprog était faite apr BR Perf, mais rien de bien magique par ici ... Depuis j'ai mis un 2.0 de Clio 3 RS
Oui je l'ai su pour le 2.0 lol. .donc gestion et ligne sans decata = 139hp c'est pas mal surtout le couple 17.3., donc tu me déconseille br performance alors ?
les "maps" des "préparateurs" sont toutes les mêmes, ensuite chacun fait dire ce qu'il veut à son banc de mesure... La gestion pour mon swap a pris 7 mois à faire comme il faut et 3 jours de banc non stop pour finaliser, et ce avec un mec dont c'est le métier depuis 20 ans... donc les maps sorties en 30' avec un passage au banc, ça vaut ce que ça vaut :(
Ouai c'est ce que j'avais pu comprendre. Que ca sortait toute du même endroit et que chacun les rebalance dans le calculateur. Surtout si ca marche à peine mieux
Et j'avais deja entendu parler de cette histoire de puissance sur banc qu'ils disent ce qu'ils veulent. .un bruit tres tres sourd à froid au niveau de l'admission avec très peu de puissance sur la TRS ca peut être l'electrovane de dephasage ? La disrib à. 10 mois
sure but that exist ^^ Take my own Clio 2 RS1, it is lighter than a current Twingo RS with the 2.0l 16v and more power (960-980kg my own Clio 2 RS1 ^^) And about the Megane 3RS 265hp, it is easy by a "simple" reprog to have 300hp
