What's your favourite Nurgle campaign mechanic?

Nurgle has some exploits with plagues that give infinite nurglings, infinite favor and infinite infections. It’s a little game I call pass the nurgling. Make a circle of lords, infect one with nurgling summon and favor, infect another with any other with infections and get bonus infections then pass a nurgling around from each infected lord to their neighbor, always maintaining one lord with one of each plague. This 100% spread chance only lasts the turn you make the plague. In fact I’ve found that nurgle plays kind of like vampires. You want many lords with low tier units stacked and close together. Nurglings stacked on kugath to start fights and have the other lords come with better units. Kugath makes nurglings pretty much unkillable in melee even from high tier units. Missiles and magic are the only things to worry about. I’ve found that getting a stack of lords on the edge of a province raiding and sending in heroes with minus control and corruption as well as plagued cultists with minus control and attrition and negative campaign movement will quickly cause rebellions… rebellions you can assist with lovely plagues and assaulting garrisons/armies.

One very good thing about the Cultist is that he has Armor Sundering attacks. It helps to mitigate the fact that Nurgle armies have so few armor piercing options.

Nurgle has one strength over most factions: Whilst each individual building doesn't produce much money, every building provides you with some income. That means that it's possible to get a fairly decent income at the mid-game once you've unlocked some higher tier settlements that let you build multiple buildings in them

The Cultist of Nurgle exists to summon 3 units of plaguebearers and a great unclean one, that alone makes it well worth the slot in the army, in addition he becomes pretty darn good in melee, and the mobility bonus for the army is by far the strongest of the agent allied army actions. A must pick for every nurgle army.

Infrastructure buildings are the ones that provide garrison and they provide the same amount throughout it's whole life cicle, so the garrison does not change.

Nurgle seem very unique for sure! Will for sure get around to them at some point. But Slaanesh will defo be my first choas campaign.

Cant tell if its a bug or not but Nurgle doesnt get an encamp replenishment bonus at all from the 6 hours i just played of him. Youre either garrisoned or you arent

You say nurglings fall off but I always see people say that they rank so high. I also dont know how to get the swarm of flies buff for them

Not sure I agree with the nurgling fall off statement. The buffs kugath gives them plus the red tree makes them a pretty good meatshield fir the rest of the army to take advantage of flanking and kugath mortis effect. Having a hand full mixed in with his other units will keep them relevant as their stats once buffed are pretty on par with the rest if the units. Not to mention their upkeep is insanely cheap and they can be recruited and replenished very quickly. Having only elite tier infantry in all the armies is a surefire way to tank your economy. Nurglings ftw!

for the plague recipes, do you have to do something to unlock them specifically or is it just make a plague using the symptoms/type that it tells you to?

hmm i did not know there was a ocean faction? Or is that a hint of something to come like Naga?

Either I'm doing something wrong or the "global recruitment" has been changed. I have to go all the way back to the sewers to recruit anything other than nurglings or toads. And after the long journey back to recruit more units it only lets me recruit one measly unit.. This is a huge handicap for me. I'm stuck with only half an army unless I want to make maggot infested s'mores in the sewers for 10 turns.

Just started a Nurgle campaign, and unlike every other faction, it seems that upgrading your settlement building is a huge waste of resource. All you get is +50 resource and +1 infection per upgrade, and a bigger garrison. They arent required for the cycles to go through all tiers. If you dont need to defend the settlement against attack, isnt it best to just leave them all at level 1?

why cant i recruit unclean one when i have tier 5 settlement plus building enabled

its easy. Im a nurgle main. All you need is one or two provinces that are making troops. the rest just spam the nurgling buildings for defense. once you kill the lizardmen. Make peace with the chaos dwarves and kill greasus its game over for everyone. herman ghorst is the only real hiccup, but if you fight him with greasus before going to war with him its easy as well. I rarely have to fight an enemy army at even half health. I nuke everything before it even has a chance to get close. also spreading your plagues with the caravans helps vastly with income.

You called this video a "campaign guide" but all you did was read the tooltips. Anyone can do that... I was hoping for a more comprehensive explanation to applying the nurgle mechanics.

Wtf is this? That's not a guide. We all can read text descriptions of an ability... I was looking for an answer why I can't recruit higher tier unit despite building being at the right cycle and didn't find the answer here. Not much of a guide.

Nurgle in 2024 is broken. It is rigged against the player completely. I just quit my game.

What is the point of a guide when nobody can play the damn game LOL
