I just finished my first year and In Canada you can go directly into nursing from high school. Your high school marks are used to apply to the program and Anatomy and physiology is incorporated into the program in the first and second semester combined with the fundamental nursing classes. Just thought id let anyone know who is Canadian :)
I figured I would just add as well that there are some US schools that have direct admit programs!! I know University of Delaware, Pace, Rutgers, and a couple others allow you to go right into their nursing school from HS. Thought I would just share in case anyone from that area is interested!!
Love watching your videos! I was accepted into nursing school last month and I start my program in September. You encouraged me to start my own channel and record my journey so I can help other nursing students, like you do. Thanks for keeping it real and letting us know what we are getting into!
Also I can relate to your story, when I finally chose nursing It was 2 years after being in college. I know that it’s Gods plan and he chooses what happens at the best time ;)
Here in my community college in Wisconsin for ADN we have many prerequisites: A&P 1 and 2, psychology, 2 electives (I took economics, sociology ) microbiology, general chemistry(with organic chem), biochemistry, 2 semesters of English, 2 semesters of math, and a CNA class. It’s taken me so long and it’s practically gonna take me 4 years so i feel like I should’ve just gone to a 4 year college and gotten my BSN, but hey atleast I’m debt free haha
Mayra M I’m from jersey and mine is the exact same minus the CNA class but I think the same thing in regards to getting thenBSN and the fact of not being in debt lol
Yes!! I’m about the same as well without a few! But I have literally no regrets! I love my program and I’ve gotten such great responses from nurses in regard to my nursing program 💕 and no debt?! Can’t beat that!
I’m in my third year of Communications and currently I want to switch to Nursing and your video has helped me soo much in making my decision! Thank you soo much 🙏🏿💗
Thank you for all the good info. If you do a part 3 my question is do you work while I’m nursing school or do any of your classmates and how do they handle it?
Jackie Blandon Galen nursing college , you just need a hs diploma & the required SAT score , for lvn-rn , you can look through the programs , I’m a senior and am going into it after , i watch your videos all the time lol ❤️
Are you in a community college? How many years have you been studying? And how many classes did you have to take before applying to the nursing program?
hiiiiii. how often do you go to the gym? I recently got accepted into nursing school but I am not too sure how I will balance school and gym. I feel like the hour commute to school will consume time and ENERGY. HEEEELP
With taking prerequisites does is really apply once accepted in the nursing program? Or you learn all over again and new things pertaining to nursing ?
You need anatomy and physiology one and two you need microbiology you need intro to psychology developmental psychology English one and two statistics intro to communication ethics and morals Kemp and bio if you don’t have a B or higher in high school transcripts for adn well for mine
I have not seen it personally, but that doesn’t mean they’re not allowed! That’s the traditional nursing uniform and my school does allow it so I imagine that hospitals allow it as well. :)
