By request, here's an update on my Rule of Law, EDC system from start to finish! Some interesting new items have been integrated which are discussed in TNP for the first time. A lot however remains consistent and still proven from 2008. Go prepared, rest easy.

Because of your EDC videos I have developed my own system. I have found it extremely useful to ALWAYS have my gun, flashlight, and knife on me. Thank you for outstanding videos!

I know you don't carry a backup, but would you consider carrying a backup like a small NAA .22LR revolver in something like a neck sheath? I understand it is a small caliber, but as stated by Iraqvetran8888, "it's still a gun".

It's nice to know I'm not the typical CCW (CPL here in WA) holder. I've sent over 4000 rounds downrange through my carry pistol, never a hang-up. Also, yes, I like carrying a 9mm for comfort. Thanks for the great vid. Glad I was pointed in your direction. Keep up the good work!

nutnfancy Do you live out in the boonies, the countryside? Or do you live in the suburbs? I'm guessing you are not a city guy. I think you carry way too many knives, overkill, and unnecessary. I would get rid of a few of those knives and carry a 6 in 1 full sized screwdriver set, like the one they sell at Home Depot. The screwdriver can also be used as a weapon and can also be used for prying things open. This is even better than your little titanium crowbar because it gives you much better grip and leverage, AND it is a lot cheaper. And of course, the 6-1 Husky screwdriver set can be very useful for what it is intended for. You don't have that capability in your kit. I carry my Husky 6-1 screwdriver in my fanny pack with the shaft removed to shorten the screwdriver for compact carrying. I also don't remember seeing a lighter in your kit. Flint and steel is good for backup, but a lighter is much easier to use and more practical in most situations. They are also very light and cheap. Did you even have flint and steel? Don't remember seeing that either. And if you carry a pen, why not a notepad? www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-6-in-1-Reversible-Screwdriver-Set-4-Piece-74361/100043138

I carry about the same amount of gear, and to tell you the truth, it's not awful heavy. And also, ya gotta remember that as nutunfancy's plate carrier says "TNP gear junkie" which means he is probably testing most of his gear to get a feel for it so he can do reveiws on them.

I looked at the VIBE II on this recommend and I bought one. It now holds the core of my wilderness kit. This Buttpack DOES NOT FLOP AROUND. I don't NEED the padding but it adds TURGIDITY, folks. Very slim profile. Its small but that's GOOD. This is the one. Thx, NUTN (you, too, Veri).

I'm glad I came across your channel a while back, I used to carry only a folding knife, in addition to wallet, keys, cell phone. I take my Streamlight stylus, Juice S2 and Kabar Dozier folder with me literally everywhere now (and CCW when my permit comes back in the mail.) I was just laughing when you were talking about "saving the day." I almost always have the items I need and I especially get a kick out of it when people who criticize ask sheepishly for "umm, that pair of pliers you have," e

Nutu'n, as for rounds through a carry gun, I put over 1000 rounds through mine in the year and a half I owned and carried it. I also practiced twice a month with it. Sadly I don't anymore as I moved to New Jersey, laws for ownership for firearms are so wacked out I don't want to chance it. I still do practice drawing and sight picture with a blue gun (I also make holsters). Great video, keep them coming!

Here's what I have on me at all times - medium-sized folding knife (3-4"), a Vic Alox handled SAK like a Cadet , 4Sevens Quark Mini 123 LED light, cell phone, keys (w/ coin light, pen & paracord lanyard) and wallet. Now I carry a backpack (Maxpedition Falcon 2) that has much more than nutn's fanny pack including a more comprehensive FAK but I only carry it to work or when i go out of town and such. It is not ON me at all times but nearby in the car, by my desk, in my hotel room, etc. Great job!

I don't know about you guys but I have carried almost every style and brand of holster for edc from uncle mikes to Galco, and never really cared for any of them until I was turned onto the Crossbreed super tuck deluxe IWB and it is the most comfortable holster I have ever worn and me personally didnt have to change the way i dressed. I carry and HK P30 and forget that i have it on. I think everyone including you nutnfancy should look into this awsome holster for edc.

Great vid. I carry something similar, but in a backpack "man purse". I'm one of those freaks that carry a 5" 1911 in a Comp-Tac MTAC, and four CMC 8rd mags every single day. I carry a Kershaw Blur Tanto, a Leatherman, small Pelican flashlight, lighter, small first aid kit in the backpack, lighter, two sets of zip tie "cuffs" and a small bundle of loose ones. There's a bunch of other crap I lug around, but that's the bulk of it. Great work, and keep up the awesome vids, man.

Three things to consider adding to this EDC: cell phone (I'm sure it's implied, but just in case, a phone is probably the second most important thing you can carry); digital watch with a compass; and a handkerchief.

When you talked about the Tuscon thing, it reminded me of what one U.S. Senator said after it, he talked about how gun laws should be changed - that more people should be carrying. He also stated that if he was in that crowd, if he wasn't one of the first three taken out, that guy was going down quick. As for knives, I carry my everyday blade in my pocket and with my first responder knife(seatbelt cutter, window breaker, and of course, a blade, in my sock.

The utincils are awesome. I've wanted to do that for years, except for the fact I want to carry full Tiffany sterling silver English King pattern, that's just how I roll. I like the crowbar. I'm digging the Gerber "Shard". It goes on your key chain and can act as a crowbar, flat head/philips screw driver, bottle opener, and file (or so they say). Might be a nice addition to the gear.

I noticed that you omitted a wristwatch from this video, is that because you don't carry one or was it an oversight? I'm interested in knowing whether you carry a watch and if you do, what kind do you wear/recommend? I know that most people use their cell phones to tell time but if you're in a movie theater and wanna check the time, the light from a mobile phone can be distracting...

no, the only way to weaken a spring is repeated load and unload of force, so as long as you compress it and leave it compressed or decompress it and leave it decompressed, you're fine. it's constant loading and unloading that will wear it out. the premise works with magazines, but i know because i'm an engineer, this is pretty basic mechanics of materials

I don't carry to the extent that you do, however, I always carry at least a medium knife and my LCP. Vehicle carries my lights, multi tool, P239, rope, etc. I will probably upgrade to carry a few more items since I have seen this vid. One thing you might should mention is the climate you, or the individual lives in. I live in the South, so summer time comes I'm not wearing pants and multiple shirts. So a knife and a pistol is easy to carry, not much else. Thanks for the vids. Good job, brother.

Been a long time TNPer but I dont EDC, maybe someone could clarify this for me. Is carrying 4 knives really necessary? If I was to EDC i couldn't imagine needing more then 1 utility knife and a good MT (maybe Leatherman wave maybe) It seems like he is just overdoing it and making some of his gear redundant.

Consider this, not trying to force my opinion just curious about your thoughts. You draw your weapon with your right, what happens if someone attacks you mid draw? You can't get shots off and now your fighting for control of the weapon. Do you want your knife on your left or your right? Someone mentioned this to me and it made total sense so I'm trying to become decent with my knife left handed.

When you make videos, do you use another microphone, other than the one one the videocamera? Also, when you upload the videos, does it always take so darn long to upload? I am new to making videos, and I need some (lots) of advice, I ask you because you are one of the people who have had the most influence on me doing this. I love your videos, your concise, to the point, logical and entertaining at once. I agree with most of your opinions, and when I don't, I'm not rude about it. Would you be able to help me to get better at this? I have only 6 videos, and I wouldn't mind making this a part of what I do. Take care, sincerely, F.D.

Where I work you can't carry any type of weapon. A firing offence so I don't. When I'm home I'm a farmer so things change, a pf-9 vs woodchuck? Common to home and work is heavy equipment, trucks, tractors. The stuff I DO carry gets used often. Not boy scout ready, but tools that have to work. My pack that goes everywhere has things like led flash lights, a knife that is used daily, wire cutter, first aid, water and a "Vise'Grip-Schrade" Combo tool. Most used and useful thing I ever bought.

Some compact water wings might be a useful addition to Nutn's EDC system. Even the strongest swimmers can get themselves in trouble when they're weighed down by a bunch of knives & guns. Also, having a fire extinguisher on hand, can often save the day.

A benchmade griptilian in the knife pocket. Blackberry in the left cargo pocket. LCP in a wallet holster in the right back pocket. Spare mag left front pocket. I change up my daily carry depending on my outfit for the day. Depending on my line of work my chances of running into a troublesome scenario are exceptionally low so I might as well look like a slick mother-lover. But I have the luxury of having the ability to go shooting every week and I also focus on my carry pistols more than anything.

Yup. EDC is a way of life. SIG Sauer SP2022 w/ two reloads in a Crossbreed SuperTuck, Streamlight ProTac 2AAA and/or 2AA light, Remington folding Tango II Military drop point, and some paracord. O and I also use a fanny pack also but it’s strictly for first aid/first response supplies. 2011 use tally is already at four times...two car wrecks and once at work when someone decided to mouth off to pop machine and got a nice size cut while retrieving their beverage. The most recent was last week when a kid got hit by a car while walking home, nothing serious but got bloodied up a bit. I live in a smallish rural town of about 40k people, chances of me finding someone needing help is high.
