Hay, give Monson a little credit. She doubled the 5K and 10K in both the Olympic Trials at Eugene and the finals in Tokyo. Super-hot at both events. She moonlights on weekends back home pulling tree stumps out wearing a harness!!!!!!!!!! Now that's one tough girl.

I cannot overstate my huge admiration for these young women. Their athleticism and sheer courage is awesome, every single one of them from first to last! And great kudos for the people involved in orgainising the event, and those teachers and coaches, past and present, who look after the women too. Thank you for posting this exciting race.

My high school team is the Lobos, green and white. We went snow skiing in New Mexico in the late 70s, everyone had red Lobo stuff. We traded with the college kids in the parking lot. Good times. (Matthew McConaughey and Forest Gregg) are from my town in Texas.
