Fantastico ....
Leo u did it again , I bought this and got it 2 weeks ago and love it. I saw your reviews and demos and it really helped me decide. But this was so informative.... I was really wondering how to make my own patches as well as keep the original and sure enough you taught it. Thank you
Thank you Leo! Coming from a time when hard drives were very small, I always print fx to the track - I might try DI-ing now the MG30 seems to make it so easy!
Hi, you are welcome! Yes, I think that it's pretty useful to have the DI track of our performances...because you can always reamp later and change / improve your tone...
@@LeoGibsonGtr I think what he meant is the existing duotime delay in the MG-30. This allows to setup two different times and therefore could be an alternative to having two DLY blocks in parallel
The only thing keeping me from buying was the doubt if you could double the modulation effects, and you answer my question quickly and concise as possible. Going to buy the pedal as soon as possible now.
Hello Leo, great, thank you for the info, love your video's (although I still think something is missing with that headstock-less guitar... :-) ) Anyway: here are some more hidden features of the MG... not very useful always but nevertheless very hidden and fun to know.. Press buttons before turning unit on. Exit feature by turning unit off. If there are more...like to know! :-) FS1 + FS2 FW Update FS2 + FS3 Reset to Factory defaults Home+Delay+Reverb Show status unit Home+IR+mod Button test
Hi Jurgen thank you, both for the compliments and for sharing this tricks!!! As regards the headless...well I understand you, even if I'm getting more and more used...and the lightness of these guitar is .. amazing... thank you!
Thanks Leo. There are at least 3 big limitations that are not dealbreaker but are very annoying. 1st headphone volume that are linked to the out volume so is not possible to choose 2 different level. 2nd pedal assignement has several limitation. Ie You cannot choose to assign the scene to the external switch. 3th looper it records only wet so if you want to fine tune your tone the internal looper is useless.
Thank you ziozanna. 1. It's related to the development cost, if headphone out and L/R output are independent, then MG-30 needs another POT and OP-AMP to control them. 2. EXP1 jack uses TRS to run the voltage divider rule, so the TRS trigger has longer latency than CTRL, that's why MG-30 didn't allow SCENE control with NMP-2. 3. For the independent LOOPER block design, we will put it into the more high-end models with some special features.
Yep it makes sense, there must be a reason for all of that. Those are not dealbreaker and mg30 is an exceptional product that overcoms competition. Period
@@nuxaudio I think this is what makes you outstanding - finding the sweet spot to offer devices with impressive features in price ranges never possible before. It is normal that there have to be some tradeoffs somewhere and I think you've chosen wisely... at least for me as a happy customer :)
Hi Mario, thank you, I'm happy that you have found the video useful! Well, I think it is not possible to use two delays, but there is an effect which is called duo time delay that should allows you to simulate it. Thank you for your message!
Great Video Leo, Is it possible to connect a Midi controller to MG-30 I'm currently using a Morningstar MC-6 to control my Boss RC500 looper and would like to use it to control the presets on the MG30 but I don't see how you would connect Midi to the MG30, any Idea if it can be done?
Thank you Leo, this is a great addendum to your previous review. Excellent as always. I would like to kindly ask you a clarification on user presets, if it is possible. I still don't understand what happens in the desktop app when you switch between the two icons (factory presets/user presets): why the presets list appears to be exactly the same? I mean, I supposed there should be two different lists, whit different names and so on... And, what happens directly on the pedalboard to distinguish user presets from factory presets?
Hi Alessandro, the list is the one with the user presets. I do agree with you that it would be nice that also the list switch, but I think that NUX is thinking that the factory preset list is always the same, so they don't need to show it...but I agree with you, it would be nice to have the proper names also on the left panel list. The pedalboard take the names of the list selected. Thank you for your question..
@@LeoGibsonGtr Hi Leo, thank you for your support, I really appreciated it. You can't imagine how useful your reviews are for me, especially the comparison charts where you put valuable information I cannot find on the web, even searching for hours. Sadly I'm not sure to have understood well, so I try to recap here, I ask you if you can kindly give a confirmation. When I turn on the modeler for the very first time I see a list with the factory presets. The switch on the upper left corner in the desktop app shows exactly the same things since I haven't made any changes yet. If I make changes on a preset, as you did with your 11C, then the switch shows the differences between factory and user for that preset, the other presets will continue to be shown identical regardless of the switch position. Moreover, if I leave the switch on the "home" position (factory) the modeler will have on board only the factory presets, if I leave the switch on the "user" position, the modeler will have on board a different list composed by: - all the factory presets that have not yet been modified by the user - and all those that have been modified instead If this is correct, no way to have on the modeler the factory 11C preset and the modified 11C. Also, it is not possible to apply changes and save the modified preset with a new name, which means that the number of presets available to the user is exactly the same as the factory ones. Can you give me a confirmation please?
@@LeoGibsonGtr A little bit background to that. This feature was from user feedback (mine). Having another list would have been a bigger change in the UI of device and quicktone app. The way it is done now allows keeping the presets (including the IRs) but was just a small change that they could implement quite easy. I think its definitely good progress. Some other ideas they implemented from my feedback: scenes and IR collection in quicktone. I think they are quite cool regarding feedback - if there is an idea how to easily make the device better they are quite receptive. Of course not anything is possible and not anything makes sense in a device oriented to a particular user base. There is also more to come! :)
Grazie ancora!
Thank you for the info, Leo! I heard that, although you could move the efx anywhere you want, you couldn't put them in between the amp and ir. Is that true? And how do you think it affects the sound that way? Do you think if we can put them (mod, delay & reverb) in between the amp & ir, it will sound better? Thank you, man! Always enjoy your content!! Keep it up!!
Hi, actually I have to check it out...thank you for pointing it out. Nevertheless, in my opinion it does not make too much difference. For instance when I record my real tube amp I always apply time (delay and reverb) after the amp+cab in my digital audio workstation. So for me this is not a deal breaker. Thank you for your message!
Unfortunately you can't (at least with the most recent firmware). The amp block is always followed immediately by the IR block. You can, however, turn each block on/off independently. Sounds pretty nasty with the IR turned off, though!
AMP & IR blocks are in the same DSP, other blocks are in the other DSP, if MG-30 allows other blocks to go through AMP & IR, it means the signal path goes back and forth, then the system latency will be more than 2ms. That's why MG-30 didn't offer the routing.
@@nuxaudio Wowww!!! I'd never expect you guys to reply to this. Thank you NUX team. No problem with that at all. But can you make the dual delays & reverbs a reality, please?? 🥲🥲🥲
Thank u Leo for detailed demo. I have a question. My instrument is a violin and I want to use IR. Can I do this. Com>IR>EQ>Rev>Amp>Output to PA. Is this doable? Separating the IR signal block frm the Amp signal block....they r not next to each other.
Scrolling down the comments I notice that several people have asked the same question without an answer. So please answer! Concerning user and factory presets. Can user presets be made without the use of the computer? If not, then having made them on the computer can they be used on the pedal without the computer attached. Failing this can you turn the factory presets into user presets and save them? How do you save them?
Hi Leo, thanks your video was very useful to me. Just a question: on the editor I can switch between user and factory presets using the the two buttons person/home. Can I do the same switch on the pedal? How? Thanks!
Hi, good question...I'm actually not sure...I think it is not possible as we don't have two separate effect change...but I'm not 100% sure.... Thank you!
Hello, how can we switch from user presets to factory presets with the pod without using Quicktone please. (once we have saved our entire list of presets). THANKS
Hi, I.R. stands for Impulse Response. Basically it is a simulation of a cab+mic and the environment in which they are located. You can check out this video if you want more info: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aIjuF6k5xXs.html Thank you!
@Leo: I've been a heavy use of the MG-30 since its release and also have seen any of the videos you published about it. I've learned quite a bit on how to set this device up so that it sounds amazing. There are so many amp models that sound outstandingly good - particularily if combined with high quality IR files. There is one amp model though that I never could make sound good and it also behaves and sounds sooo differently to the same amp in any other amp sim (e.g. TH-U) or HW modeler I tried before. Its the SLO... I think I remember you even used it in some of your videos. After I think hours of trying a gave up and did come to the conclusion that there is something not quite right with this model. Is there anything I'm missing? What do you think about the SLO in MG-30?
Hi, first of all thank you and I'm happy to have been of some help! Well, it's a pretty hard question to answer. I've used the SLO in my demo review and I was satisfied with the results. Nevertheless I do agree with you that it does not sound similar to my real SLO 100 (which is the 2020 model). One reason could be that there are many different SLO models that have come out along the years and we actually don't know which is modeled in the MG 30. I also do agree with you that the SLO in the MG 30 is not easy to tame, here I think that you have to use the right IR or to play with the Cabinet, the mics type and the position. A lot of time, when I'm not satisfied with the sound, I finally find the right solution changing cab, mic type or position. Thank you once more!
Hi Andrè, I've compared to the Mooer GE 200 and the Ampero ONE: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-phCIEAZHEjM.html In fact they are similar in terms of price. The GE 250 is more expensive than the MG30...I will think about it. Thank you for your suggestion!
@@LeoGibsonGtr How can i do it on the MG 30 directly? Do you happen to have a video or walkthrough for that one as well? Thank you so awesome of you to reply :)
@@LeoGibsonGtr thanks lovely Leo. I think the construction also with all the sound quality makes this unity still unbeatable. Cheers from Chile 🇨🇱 and lots of happiness for you and your family. Thanks a lot we really admire all your effort and passion
Hi, I have done a video comparing the GE 250 vs the MX5, that you can check out here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-L-u3d80Nuh4.html Thank you for your question!
Hi, as far as I remember, at the beginning the user preset and the NUX one are the same...therefore if you press the icon you did not notice any differences. When you customise a preset, then you start to see the difference (as far as I remember). Thanks!
HI, 11 blocks (amp and cab included). Here you can check out the full review: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ie2trDPSO1Q.html Thank you!

Come posso cambiare impostazione. Grazie
Can I use an EQ as Parallel Effects, for example to make an SPLIT EQ CROSSOVER for Dist Bass Presets? Putting an EQ Filter for High Frecuencies with AMP and for Low Frecuencies just a Compresor???
Senti Gibson ….. parla in italiano ….
