Are you wondering which pellets will suit your Air Arms S510? This video should help.
Note, guns differ so you may get a different result but it should help to narrow down the type.

Hi, Nick. Thanks for sharing your testing. Good groupings generally (well done!), but those Air Arms really did speak for themselves. I have the .22 Air Arms FAC and love it. Shooting mostly JSB Hades at squirrels, but also testing AA 16 gr pellets. The rifle really is not very pellet-fussy. Thanks again. Jim

Thank you for your comment, much appreciated. Glad you enjoyed the video. The S510 is my second Air Arms, while I do miss my old S400 (I was young and needed the money) the S510 is proving every bit as accurate with the added convenience of a magazine. I bought some .22 Hades to try in my other rifles, went to do some videos today and couldn't find them. Oh well, another day. Keep up the good work shooting squirrels, the grey bushy tails are second only to rats in my list of vermin needing to be eradicated.

@@nickvending9688 Hi Nick, thanks for your reply. Mostly I am shooting squirrels in my yard, with range of 12 - 30 yards. I saw another pellet test that indicated that the Hades starts to lose accuracy as you get out to 50+ yards, but they do fine closer in. So far they are working well for me; in fact, I did get one squirrel at 50 yds with the Hades, but that was a rare (my one and only) attempt at that range. When I first got my S510, I tested a lot of pellets and settled on the Hades for their accuracy, but probably also for their sex appeal (they were the new "magic" pellet then). Even though the Hades are doing well, after 2 years with the Air Arms, I think it's time for me to reassess, and so I do plan to do more testing of the AA Diablo Field 16 gr. and the JSB Diabolo Exact Jumbo 15.89 gr. and probably a few others in .22 Cal, to have some alternatives. Slugs get a lot of good press these days, but slugs seem not suitable for my location; I am in a subdivision and slugs would carry too much energy downrange if they got outside of my property. Anyway, it was a pleasure seeing your video and hearing from you. Thank you for sharing. Best regards, Jim

Good work with the 50 yard squirrel, all my guns are sub 12ftlb so I keep it to 30yards max. I can recommend the JSB Jumbo 15.89. Haven't tried the Air Arms in .22 yet, another recently purchased tin of pellets that has gone AWOL.

Nick - if you want true comparable results between different makes of pellets you MUST re-lead your barrel in between tests. For example, if shooting pellet B after pellet A, you need to put at least 10 B pellets through your barrel before trying the group. If you don't do this, you will not get accurate assessments of each pellet type....

Hi nick nice groupings with various pellets seems like your s510 isn't too fussy at all what distance did you do your testing cheers phill

Hello Phill, thank you for your comment much appreciated. The range is 25 yards. The rifle really isn't fussy, what also surprises me is the point of impact barely changes with different pellets, whereas changing the pellets in my spring air rifles requires significant changes to the zero. All in all, my S510 is a really great rifle, definitely a keeper. Hope this helps, please let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to help 👍🏻

@@nickvending9688 hi nick thx for your reply I know what you mean in regards springers my 177 hw98 need some adjustment to the scope with different pellets but my 22 hw97 don't care it shoots anything pretty much the same not unlike your s510

Hello, thanks for your comment much appreciated. The range is 25 yards. The Air Arms pellets just seem to suit almost every gun I've tried them in, they must be doing something right. Great choice of gun, is yours regulated?
@drleighmj
@drleighmj 10 месяцев назад
No, unregulated. I like the fact there is slightly less to maintain, but there doesn't seem to be a problem with consistency down to about 120bar. It is my first PCP that I have owned for about a week and I really like it. I still have the BSA airsporter .22 springer I bought in 1986, which is fine but the S510 is something else. I always though .22 for hunting, but the .177 AA would be more than capable. Thanks for the reply. @@nickvending9688

@@drleighmj mine is unregulated too, same reasoning. A friend has the regulated version, apart from seeming to be quieter than mine the accuracy is no different. I use mine for hunting wood pigeon and rats, it is more than capable.
