De Nederlandse Vereniging van Belangstellenden in het Spoor- en tramwegwezen, beter bekend als de NVBS, organiseert regelmatig speciale ritten. Op 26 april 2023 werd er een Koningsdag rit georganiseerd door de Stichting NVBS excursies met de elektrische locomotief 1251 die de trein trok.
De Koningsdagrit van 2023 ging over de grens naar het Duitse Bad Bentheim, een bijzondere route! Deze ging namelijk vanuit Amersfoort naar Coevorden en vanuit daar via de ‘Bentheimer Eisenbahn’ naar Bad Bentheim. Dat zal waarschijnlijk wel voor het eerst zijn dat er een NS 1200 werd gesleept over deze lijn.

The Dutch Association of Interested in Railways and Tramways, better known as the NVBS, regularly organizes special rides. On April 26, 2023 a King's Day ride was organized by the NVBS with the electric locomotive 1251 that pulled the train.
The King's Day ride of 2023 drove across the border to the German town Bad Bentheim, a very special route! It went from Amersfoort to Coevorden and from there, via the ‘Bentheimer Eisenbahn’, to Bad Bentheim. That will probably be the first time that an NS 1200 has been towed over this line.
