AMD is now releasing the RX 7900 GRE everywhere at $550. Performance is quite good. They are also announcing the next generation of Ryzen CPUs at Computex 2024 in early June.
Nvidia finally fixed their GPUs by making NEW driver software called the "Nvidia APP" and it's great. AMD GPUs can now use CUDA through a neat translation thing, which solves one major disadvantage with their GPUs. Microsoft may be introducing their very own AI Upscaler which could help mitigate the differences between the GPU brands as well. Though, there is interpretation that this may only be talking about a way Microsoft could make it easier to implement upscalers through DirectX.
Sons of the Forest got FSR 3 Frame Gen. Elden Ring DLC. XBOX is going wild. PlayStation VR 2 on PC. Nintendo Switch 2. Insane OLED Gaming Monitors. Whoa

2 things: 1. Unfortunately, Sons of the Forest doesn’t actually have frame generation, just FSR 3 upscaling. My bad there. I assumed too much there. 2. Next gen Ryzen CPUs will most likely be called 9000

depends on what you use it for, 120hz on OLED due to pixel response has more real world clarity and smoothness than any IPS/VA panel I've used including my previous 240hz. If I was a competitive FPS player than I would probably stay on 240hz. Reality is we are a long way of 4K 240hz due to limitations of needing a standard that would support 8K 120hz. I haven't played elden ring either. I still have to finish so many games on my steam before I play anything else. I bought an OLED monitor for my new pc build, and there's no way I can go back. There are times that I will just look at it and be like "damn thats pretty". The one I have has it to prevent screen burn in, by having the image on the screen move every other minute.

Built an all Amd pc around October. 7900xtx is insane. I have a PS5 and didn’t really feel it was much of a jump from ps4 pro. Only real next gen features imo were Dualsense & SSD, which I already upgraded my ps4 pro with… if anything I hate the UI and lack of themes/customization. Wanted to hold out for PS5 Pro but since Sony increased prices for PS+, I just decided PC. I thought about getting a 4090 but don’t like feeling ripped off, so went 7900xtx and was able to get a brand new LG C3 for Black Friday, and still have a couple bucks left for around the same price of a 4090, before the china ban price gouging. Native 4k/120hz on oled is truly next gen. Just wish I could get all the Dualsense features on PC

7900 GRE looks really good for 1440p with 16GB (if you're not into the ray tracing so much). It'd be nice if 9000 series AM5 chips could have a slightly thinner top cover, especially the silver layer (they might have to adjust for height in other ways though). A lapped 7000 series with a slight undervolt gets fantastic gains on thermals. If people could avoid lapping by hand, that'd be great though.

OLED is 100% a game changer and 100% worth it. The burn in problems are more so a thing of the past, however it is still possible. I believe some warranties are beginning to cover burn in as well. Setting windows taskbar to autohide, using a black desktop background with no icons and letting the monitor go to sleep after a couple of minutes of inactivity help reduce those chances. I went with a 55" Sony a80k (4k 120hz OLED) for movies and console gaming but liked it so much that I have been using it as my PC monitor for the last year. - Have had my Liquid Freezer 2 420 version over ~1-2 years now and honestly, No other AIO is worth it more than that AIO, and probably the new version. No RGB or built in Display BS and performance is honestly awsome. - About OLEDs, I have the "older" 27" LG Ultragear model and the coating is honestly Blech but OLED is just litterally unbeatable when it comes to contrast ratio, response time and for the most part, colors. * What about burn in? Well if you take care of your monitor then it will last you a long time before it burns in. YES you can game with static elements without worry, just do some pixel cleaning regurlarly! =) * What about work and studies? Well it's fine. I usually don't sit in front of the screen for long periods of time while writing or reading so I'm not concerned about that either. VSC, Word, Outlook, Notepad, Editing software, everything's in dark mode so that also helps with not driving the pixels to hard. One other thing to note is that the sub pixel layout is Not great for text calrity, at least that's what many will tell you. For me personally it's not a big deal, or rather, I don't notice it that much. * Anti glare / matte coating is AwSoMe! No. No it's not. It really dampens the brightness and colors. If you buy an OLED monitor for $900 and up than you can fucking afford some decent window blinds or atleast some blankets to put up! But seriously, even a material that breaks direct sunlight is pretty much enough so the mirror like effect on a glossy screen won't be a problem. I myself have complete control over how much light goes into my room and or the direction of my setup. Also before you comment, I bought the LG monitor because it was the cheapest one and that was my budget. Even though the coating is bothering me It's still better than any LCD screen I could've bought instead. Also It's the same with high refresh rate, once you get into it, you can't or don't want to go back. I play alot of games where visual fidelity matters (to me atleast) so the ~$800 it cost me here in Sweden was worth it back when I bought it. The new OLEDs from Asus, for instance, look great allthough I'm pissed that they put Some anti-glare coating on it so I won't be buying one ever in future. Then there's the resolution. If you have a 4090 then go nuts but if you don't then don't bother. Sure many games are playable in 4K, older and even newer titles with DLSS/FSR but many other games will be unplayable, even with a newer GPU. I know this alot because my previous monitor was a 4K 144Hz LCD display and I had a 4080 before selling it. So trust me when I say that 4K is not worth it. Yet. Then again, it depends Heavely on what you do on your pc! =) Well there you have it @Vex. That's my opinion and thoughts on OLEDs, well 90% of my comment anyway :)

AIO's typically (unless you get a crappy single fan model) are quieter the more fans and larger the heat exchange is as the fans can spin slower. But the pump does make some noise which is highly dependent on model. I only hear my Arctic Freezer II 240 when the CPU is under heavy load.

Burn-in is more a thing of the past or on very cheap off-brand OLED panels like most portable displays. $600-800 OLED monitors from within the past few years are pretty resistant against burn-in, flagship smartphones are even further ahead. Fortunately, burn-in can be removed too if it's not too bad. OLED monitors are the fastest I've used in terms of response time and motion blur mitigation. Text isn't as crisp at resolutions lower than 1440p though, but these panels are worth it for the vibrancy alone. For me SDR OLEDs pop more than most HDR LEDs.
