NWT wildfires: Anxiety in Behchokǫ̀ as Yellowknife fire burns 

I think the most important thing is so far nobody has died. Of course I’m not searching for a relocated loved one, Go Canada!

If one's life was saved by the evacuation they need to be thankful. Imagine if the fire progressed to the city by Saturday what would be the situation now. One needs to know the gambit. My son had booked onto a flight for Friday morning to Toronto, his colleagues offered to drive him over to Edmonton one day earlier Thursday. Went safe. My wife and I are thankful for the rescue effort and also thank the Mayor and the people on the ground at YK, who are still holding fort for the safety of humanity. My wife and I are in Sri Lanka. We have a single child aged 25. He was by himself in YK. There were anxious moments last week, and is still so. I do not want to think of the evacuation exercise as over-reacting. The gambit allows us to make this post.Than you for guaranteeing the safety of my son and others.
