Nice Video Cap! I will always change the oil in spring facing the new season. With a 20 degree to 70 degree temp swing, winter thru spring, and my drip rid can has collected much water in the boat, and I don't want the crankcase to do the same thing. Fresh oil for 7400 rpms in the new season.

Good information, thanks! I prefer changing oil in fall just because im already getting it ready for winter, and in spring i wanna head straight out to the water. Except today...its May 1st and snowing here.

I hear ya Jason, I think we overthink these things at times. Let's hope it warms up soon, anxious to see more of your videos!

@Captain Leon's Boating and More the boat is in the shop right now getting all new custom flooring from Walk the Plank Marine. I pick it up on Friday! Hopefully the weather will be more springish by then.

They should start looking into their fiberglass, steering cables, screens, cushion quality now. From a 2021 AR190 owner.

Part 2 of this video is "quality control" problems. Working on it, keep an eye out for it. Agreed!

Question Capt Leon, Do you treat your canvas boat cover each season to keep it water repellent? If so do you have a favorite product that works?
@CaptainLeonsBoatingandMore
@CaptainLeonsBoatingandMore Год назад
I found that when it's new it works well, after a few years it begins to get porous and needs treatment. I have used Sunbrella 303, not cheap but made water bead off of it after applied. www.overtons.com/303-high-tech-fabric-guard-gallon-314426.html?BCampaign%7D&gclid=CjwKCAjwjMiiBhA4EiwAZe6jQ5-5ihkYLfmzhFekx1OulSInTNq6gxBEUDFlVcY7mz12_S5fWVaCWhoCakMQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Thank you Leon….I always stick with the OEM oil. I had my oil changed at 10 hours. Now I have 19 hours and haven’t changed it yet, and it’s been about 18 months however. Change it now?
@CaptainLeonsBoatingandMore
@CaptainLeonsBoatingandMore Год назад
Well there is only 9 hours on that oil, so I'm sure it's good. But getting into a routine of changing once a year can't hurt in my opinion. Thanks for watching!

This is a great video! I have a 2021 Yamaha 252 and this will be my third season with it. I wet slip at my local marina and change the oil at the start of every season. Perhaps moving forward, I will change the oil at the end of the season before I put it in storage, just to ensure there is no moisture in the oil sitting all winter.

@@ezrider5331 Thanks for your comments Ezrider, yeah this is good info. Ive been changing my oil in the Spring for 10 years now, it's all good. Thanks for watching!

@@CaptainLeonsBoatingandMore Even with keeping it in the wet slip (heavy moisture), think it would still be OK to continue doing in the spring?
@CaptainLeonsBoatingandMore
@CaptainLeonsBoatingandMore Год назад
@@ezrider5331 I'm sure it's fine, but your call depending on how many hours you put on the oil. I just like the feeling of fresh oil to start the season. We're probably over thinking it.
