Michael and I escaped the NYC frigid winter for a quick trip to sunny Cancun to attend our friends’ intimate sunrise wedding on the beach. This was one of the few childless vacations we’ve taken together (the second to be exact), and while we really missed Milo, it was nice to get away and spend some quality time together (and catch up on sleep 😂)!
If you have been following me on TikTok and Instagram, you know that I’m having a fashion moment right now. For the first time in my life-seriously, ask anyone-I'm starting to care about style and fashion. I’ve never been able to describe what my style was before, so now I’m on a mission to find my personal style and build a wardrobe with clothes that feel like “ME” and accentuate the parts of my body that I love.
I'm really gravitating towards neutrals and simplicity; it feels very elevated and timeless to me, so that’s the curated style direction I'm moving in. I took inventory of some basic pieces that I felt like my closet was lacking, and headed over to a local consignment shop to start searching for them. Before Michael and I flew out of the country for our getaway, our family got out of the city for a weekend and caught up with my twin sister! She doesn’t live in New York City anymore, and even though we call each other every day, it is extra special to be able to see her in person and have some IRL sister time together. Both Allie and my sister-in-law, Julia, are getting married this year, so it was fun getting to hear about their timelines and perspectives on adding to their families. If you’ve been asking yourself “should I have kids?” this portion of the vlog may interest you!
Side note: within six months, we actually have THREE family weddings (my brother is also getting married), so get ready for some more wedding content coming up!
Next up in the vlog, I poured myself a coffee and got started with an Amazon try on haul. The wedding we attended in Cancun was a 6:30 a.m. sunrise wedding and the theme of the attire was White Lotus (the show), so I ordered an extravagant dress last minute and wanted to try it on before we left. If you need a last-minute dress, Amazon fashion is *it*.
While I ultimately decided on another dress from Amazon (this one didn't really feel like it had a beach wedding vibe), I still absolutely loved the dress and will definitely keep it for a future event.
