@@SarahFunky I like Brooklyn and Coney Island but I can't do cold weather in Southern California is where I will move but I use to watch your videos. I use to like the cold when I was younger but it affects me more today
@@SarahFunky despite the location distances in a lot of ways NY and Los Angeles is similar. I like the weather in LA and the time but California is also helpful more towards the homeless. I lost 2 jobs in 2020 and life has been tough I hope the subway improves in NY but I made mistakes moving to Illinois and Michigan with not very much income
Did you know that our non-profit organization, River Pool at Beacon has had a floating pool in the Hudson River free and open to the public since 2008 up here in Beacon New York? It's just steps away from the Beacon Train Station. It's not nearly as big as the +Pool is planned, but people with small children have been enjoying it here for years. Maybe bring Bella to check it out this summer. We fundraise to keep it operational with the Annual Great Newburgh to Beacon Hudson River Swim event where 100 to 200 swimmers find sponsors as they swim across the Hudson River. It is a blast! 2023 will be the 19th annual swim. And Sarah, I'm a big big fan of your videos! Keep 'em coming! : )
Hi, this is my first comment. I'm a native New Yorker and I always enjoy watching of your content. You are full of great ideas for things to do and you make me appreciate this city even more. I don't know if you know about this already but Manhattan is getting it's first public beach later this year. It will be located on the Gansevoort Peninsula on the Hudson river next to the Little Island. No swimming in the Hudson river but there will be kayaking.
Im coming over from the UK in December this year for the first ever time, honestly a dream come true I cannot wait. Your videos have been incredible in helping me create a "to do" list, along with things I've wanted to do since I was a child. NYC baby!

The river ring in Williamsburg looks to be quite impressive! That's one thing that I would have loved to have seen in my trip to NYC 2021 if it was constructed back then. I would love to check it out when it's complete!

Great video. Surely the big problem the pool faces is the weather. Who would go swimming when it's freezing or raining? I bet The Mousetrap will be the commercial success as it has relatively low production costs compared to big stage musicals. The Chrysler Building having an obs deck will be amazing!

I know my wife would be most excited about the Britney Spears show. Hopefully tickets are cheaper than the $600 I paid to take my wife to see her last show in MD a few years ago lol. The Britney Spears Broadway show seems interesting. I was a big fan of hers 20 Years ago. What about Devil Wears Prada will that open on Broadway? That played in Chicago last year. Van Gogh exhibit seems interesting as well.
I’m coming to NYC for 10 days in July and have watched hours of your vids to get me prepared. For instance I took your advice and booked a hotel in Long Island City.
Just returned from 7 nights in Manhattan NY, first time visitors from Spain. My thoughts.. We walked ‘everywhere’ on purpose, why ride the subway when you can walk and see the sights? On some days we did 15 miles walking…and we are both in/around our 60s and the arthritis in my knees killed me but I would not change it. The cost, its Expensive, offensively so, here in Spain a beer at a local bar 2,60$.. NY 7$ for a house beer during happy hour, get the wrong beer at wrong hour.. 14$.. I don’t smoke, if i did, in Spain 5$ a packet, Manhattan back street store 18$ Meal sizes are 30% larger than we have here, we side stepped this by just eating once a day. Must visit? Stattin island Ferry, its free, great views of the statue of Liberty. Ground Zero. Seeing the memorial pools was enough, i had enough flashbacks that the museum tour would have crushed me, i saw the events on tv live on the day, shed enough tears and still carry the scars. ‘Keens Steakhouse’.. excellent meal, book in advance, ask for Lincoln room, hell they were able to give me blue cheese and crackers with a glass of Port as dessert (i am old school) but finally tally was 400$+ for two for dinner. Shopping in Times Square is nuts, no matter what size you are you will find it but again not cheap, 15$ a T shirt no brand here, 180$ in Times Square for T shirts. Plain Hot Dog 3$ Ride on a horseback carriage? 65$ for 20 minutes. Yellow cab? Quick convenient and expensive, 5,5 mile / 7,5km was 36$. Points of note. The steam coming up from the streets is famous, makes for some good photos, the smells, the street vendors give the city an amazing bbq/curry smell that just makes you hungry by walking.. Best time to shop? 9am to 12.. after 12 its just to busy. Biggest disappointment? All the ‘must eat / must visit’ places are over crowded, went to tacos number 1, faced a 1 hour wait with no seating (chelsea market) and Katz was the same with no hope in hell of a seat.. my advice, go at 4am.. with my arthritis no way i could stand that long.
So you's just walked around Manhattan. And didn't use the subway 🚉 Limiting yourselves by not seeing the amazing sights of Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens (less so Staten Island apart from the ferry to photograph Statue Of Liberty) New York has so much more to offer than just the tacky Manhattan tourist traps for tourists! Wonderful peaceful botanical gardens in the Bronx & Brooklyn. Real little Italy in Brooklyn, authentic restaurants, bars. Museums etc.
@@C--A we walked over the Brooklyn Bridge and then down by the Carousel and back over the bridge, then to Ground zero.. walked back over then to Empire State and then onto the Chrysler building and Grand central and then finally walked to the Guggenheim gallery .. visited the museum and then walked around central park before eventually getting a taxi back. As i said, we are in our 60s and for us its enough, N America is a massive place and Manhattan for a week was about right, so many things to see and do its impossible to see it all, so we just saw as much as we are comfortable with but made the effort to see and do what we wanted to do. When your younger you can run around and see everything in a day, when your our age its more slowly slowly, walk and rest, walk and rest etc..
@@zhardoum That's great you's walked mostly, great for your health whatever the age! I'm going to NYC in September but only for 3 & a 1⁄2 day's. Staying in a hotel Manhattan but will use the subway to The Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens. As I want to also explore the non tourist parts, and discover hidden gems.

Everytime I go to Paris, I spend time on the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower.
