Nearly 2 million spectators dressed in red, white and blue took part in the Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City on June 10. The parade honors nearly 4 million inhabitants of Puerto Rico and all the people of Puerto Rican birth and heritage. In the aftermath of Hurricane Maria that devastated the land, onlookers have something to say. Brad Show Live was there to cover it all.

How come i dont never see in these parades our true puerto tican culture and roots..were mixed with African Roots, Tianos/Indians and Eurpeanos. Represent Puerto Rico with our Real Roots

I felt welcome when I came to usa for the most part even though I didn’t know who to identify with when I came. I didn’t know any other Rican in my area and I’m of darker complexion (think zoe saldana lol) and so the Hispanics didn’t accept me but I wasn’t dark enough to be black either. For the longest I denied what I was because of it but as I got older I accepted myself

Most Puerto Ricans are as dark as her or darker. She looks hella Puerto Rican to me. If you got that skin tone then u blend in with other boriquas. U rlly not that diff.
