Based from the radio communications I think it may have been a small hobby (DIY) FPV drone. Those fly incredibly fast and zip like fighters. (DIY drones usually have off-shelf parts and you pick the ones you want and assemble them to make your drone be as powerful as you want.) Hobby DIY FPV drones don't usually check if flying in the airspace is legal or not. Non-hobby/DIY drones like DJI will check the map to see if the airspace allows flying and will not launch the drone in restricted airspace. Finally, diving into bridges is one of the most popular things an FPV drone pilot does. They want to go under and do a loop over the top of it. Basically a dive and sudden climb and flip over.
0:30 Thats an amazing drone, considering it takes a Nitro funny car about 3.8 seconds to cover a 1320 foot drag strip at about 330mph...DJI have really stepped up to the plate. Is that like 680mph
So if it was moving at 1,000 feet a second it can climb 60,000 ft in 1 minute or 11.1 miles a minute or 681 mph. I have raced drones and I know they are not that fast. LOL. Probably a depth perception error.
LoL.. agreed 😁! The pilot assumed initially the drone was much bigger than it was, so appeared that it was moving much faster than it was actually was.
I thought drones were not allowed in Manhattan? And DJI would not fly in that gps. ( not saying it is DJI) Wonder if they throw it on a scale and weight it? FAA will get a test on all the new guidelines they just put out. Altitude, line of sight, remote ID.
Don't matter if its a crime they will make one up cops will make anything happen just to cause pain in the pocket, but you gotta be dumb flying a drone close to a chopper mind you 800ft is a long way talk about overkill 😂😂😂
